Try some wd40 with the steel wool too. Saves a fair bit of time an effort an also less likely to leave small scratches on the chrome as is lubricated an tends to polish rather than scratch 👍
I was able to get off all of the rust and get a good bit of the pitting.. now I am at a place where there are these tiny white specks left where the dark pitted stains that were left when I removed the rust.. I am starting to feel no matter how much I rub with 00000steel wool and WD40 and polish.. its not going away... should I get some sandpaper? and work my way up to through to the ultrafine grit to the rubbing compound?
Just picked up a 90s Haro with light surface rust and I was going to use Mothers chrome polish. Any reason you wouldn't use a chrome polish instead of abrasive if the rust isn't too deep? I see different people recommend different soaking or scrubbing but never polishing
I'm about to use Blue Magic metal polish it was right next to the mothers I was reading all the metal polishes as far as directions I think the blue Magic's going to be the best choice the others say good for Chrome but not chrome plating the Blue Magic does not I'm going to try the WD-40 steel wool scrub hit it with some very fine grit sandpaper and then rub the Polish and see what happens
@@anthonyeasley1727 gotta say the dollar store aluminum foil surprisingly worked like a charm then buffed the entire frame. Looks brand new! I would never have thought to use that
