I think as a whole we Canadians tend to think down about your people because of your politicians. I promise you if you come visit we will be friendly lol
If you're American, don't take it too personally. I mean, they were asking about the general stereotypes on Americans. Which, if you take a quick peek on the Internet, you'll see are pretty negative. They weren't trying to say anything mean about them, just what the general stereotypes of Americans were to them. We Canadians can also be fat, self-centred and impolite. But our general stereotype is being nice, saying eh a lot and playing/watching hockey. Just clearing things up for you, have a good day. :)
+jay “ogbobbydilmer” yay I have to disagree. These are general stereotypes that pretty much every country thinks. Yea there are assholes I admit but we're a lot nicer then people think
+DanielS So true. When I went on a student exchange to Switzerland back in high school, we were actually instructed by our teachers to make sure we had a Canadian flag or a maple leaf on our jackets or bags at all times so we wouldn't be mistaken for American students, and would be treated better! The hilarious bit was when an American backpacker came up to me at the train station in Lausanne and asked me where I got the flag on my bag so he could get one too. I gave him a look of *no* amusement and just said, "Back home. In Canada." Then I went back to speaking French with my multilingual friends. It seems the Yanks were on to our trick over 15 years ago, but hadn't bothered to learn any other languages! ;)
Ralphie Shostakovich Honestly, we were pissed that this guy was trying to play off our good reputation as a lie, and possibly tarnish it. Plus he was an obviously older dude trying to chat up high-school girls. We found him creepy, and he certainly didn't improve our impression of Americans travelling abroad!
Every. Person. Is. Different. You did nothing to get your reputation just like I did nothing to get my reputation. Again, because you didn't understand the first time, you're judging people off of stereotypes. It's one thing to not talk to him if he's hitting on you, it's another to not talk to him because he's american
I find it funny that Canadians said Americans were stuck up, yet they were the ones who called us fat and self centered. And then the Americans who were supposedly stuck up were being very nice about their comments towards Canadians. Just an observation 😋
Well I’m Canadian. And TO BE HONEST.. a lot of Canadians are really nice and just show more common curtesy. When I went to America I just noticed they weren’t as nice. Like they would butt each other in line, wouldn’t say sorry, just not use their manners. But ALSO many Americans I have met I have had good encounterments. Like the people that say Americans are fat and rude.. either haven’t met any Americans or have met the rude Americans
Canadians say that stuff about Americans because Americans are making up random things about our country. Americans are super rude to Canadians all the time. Like some stupid things they said were - aboot (nobody says that) - eh (that’s not that common) - our army sucks (not at all) - were all white (not even close) - farmers (where did that come from) - coldness (yeah it’s cold but it is in some parts of the USA too) - plaid shirts (umm no) Americans are SO ignorant to Canadians and us Canadians are tired of it. I can’t tell an American that I’m Canadian without them saying “oh yeah eh” like shut up and stop thinking that you’re right about everything! We are more multi cultural then Americans because we allowed refugees into our country when USA didn’t. What I’m trying to say is that Americans know NOTHING about Canadians however most Americans I know seem to think that their country is the best in the world and know nothing about all the other amazing countries around them. Other countries are tired of Americans messing everything up political wise and also in ways of basically making up rumours of other countries. If Americans would stop basically making fun of Canadians then us Canadians would have a lot better things to say about them. Sincerely, A proud Canadian🇨🇦
@@jennamarchand3201What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. From a proud American 😋🇺🇸
Canadians seem to have a kid brother complex. They tend to go on about how we Americans think about them, but truth be known, we don't think about them at all.
And to be fair, we're a country of 323 million people with a shit load of problems. Countries like Canada, (pop. 36 million) or the U.K. (pop. 66 million) of course are aware of what goes on outside their boders because they have far far fewer people within them. There are more people in California than in all of Canada. Combine the pop. of California and Texas alone and you have the pop. of the U.K. Of course you all have to expand your world outside your borders. That's why we're guilty of "only focusing on ourselves", something annoying Brits keep constantly whining about us it seems in every comment they make.
Dathotness4ya You nailed it."A country of 323 million people with a shit load of problems". The American Dream is falling in on itself. What was once the most amazing collective on the planet is now imploding and eating itself alive due to ignorance and arrogance.
It's so funny to watch all of the videos under the "stereotype" playlist and see what people think about each other. Listening to the Canadians say that Americans are arrogant and the Americans saying the Canadians are super nice. I've also noticed that the Americans have been saying pretty positive things about the other countries (not everyone, but most do). I really like these stereotype videos! I agree & disagree w/ so many of the comments that people around the world are saying about each other, but it's really makes you think about your life and how you act as a nation. It's awesome!
The Canadians in the other video said we were all pretty much stupid and fat. I come to this one and there is nothing but niceness.. Except for some parts lol.
I'm going to guess they were repeating stereotypes, when you're the most technologically advanced country in the world, also the biggest military in the world, people are scared of you, so they try to make you feel bad about being from the US, that's how you got these stereotypes, they're just repeating them.
I actually laughed so hard, I'm a Canadian, even worse I'm a Québécois so I get even more stereotypes put onto me! The Winter Olympics thing is true though, and we are the best eh!
I love most of our stereotypes were that they're nice and polite and most of the Canadian's stereotypes of us were that we're stupid, obnoxious and fat. Kind of the opposite of what you'd expect.
Well I’m Canadian. And TO BE HONEST.. a lot of Canadians are really nice and just show more common curtesy. When I went to America I just noticed they weren’t as nice. Stephanie Grimwood We'll be nice to you until we find out you're American. You're all, mostly anyway, very ignorant and uneducated on any country but your own. You'd never hear a Canadian fail the questions about you that pretty much eveey American fails when being asked about Canada. Can't any of you hear how fucking dumb you sound? Stupidest answers from ALL of you. One guy said "All shapes and sizes". Out of like what, 50 of you there is ONE non ignorant answer. Annnd we are more culturally diverse than you are. Toronto by itself outdoes your whole country.
nexxusty The "stupidest" things, lol okay. I'm not American, but holy shit lol, why are you Canadians so proud? "Uneducated on any country but their own" is a stereotype, and will be mostly true anywhere you go. "You'd never hear a Canadian fail questions about the USA, that pretty much every American fails when asked about Canada." Well, that's because more people will know about the US in comparison to Canada, the US is a superpower. Good job, Canadian.
So I thought the Canadians were supposed to be the "nice" ones but all they had was hate on us. We Americans were nothing but respectful. So I think that shows the stereotypes are wrong.
+Chelsea Crockett Aw, sorry about that. French-canadians are a lil different from the rest of Canada, they generally don't like the US as much. There was even a movement there to separate Quebec from the rest of 'english' Canada, and there's still a major federal party that's aimed at separating Quebec from Canada.
+Fatima Ali I remember De Gaulle during his visit to Canada and his controversial ..."Vive le Québec libre!". It didn't go to well as it was interfering in domestic politics. Especially when you remember it was Canadians (Anglo and French) who helped to get the Nazis out of their original homelands, whilst the French had capitulated and set up their Vichy regime So here's a joke "During one of the many wars that the French and the British fought and the French usually lost, the French just happened to capture a British Major. An officer brought the Major to the French general for interrogation. The French general began ridiculing the Major for wearing "that stupid red tunic." The French general said, "Why to you wear that red uniform, it makes it easy for us to shoot you." The British major replied, "If I do get wounded, the blood will not show, and my soldiers will not get scared." The French general said, "That is a very good idea," The Frenchy turned to his orderly and said, "From now on all French officers will wear brown pants."
Mike Rourke Whoa, really? Anglo-French Canadian relationships aren't so bad anymore though...yes there is a bit of a difference in mindsets, but we're mostly okay now. (okay it honestly took me a few secs to get the joke, LOL, reminds me a wee bit of something I saw on a hetalia site)
ilovesmw2 Actually London England is the most Diverse city in the world. But the most diverse city in North America is Toronto, even more so then Vancouver or New York. Vancouver has a huge Asian culture but Toronto has people from all over the world.
As a Canadian I feel the Canadian stereotypes are not that bad some of them are not true but still the American stereotypes are horrible everyone seems to think there obese gun nuts which is true with some people but the majority are just normal people
All Mexicans and blacks be in Mexico, then all multicultural people be in Canada and all whites stay in the USA that would decrease a lot of the over populated areas here...
probably cause the French, Irish, German , Polish , Ukrainian , some Metis (meaning me) , and so on and so on all have white skin. I looked at census Canada. couldn't find that guys 76% white number any where. I don't like the term melting pot. everything you throw into a melting pot all melts together and turns one colour. the states can keep it. we're more of a rainbow. one colourful cohesive unit. it's a beautiful thing. that's the majority. unfortunately we do still have some racism like any other country.
That's really true! When I was in college and doing a musical tour in Europe, the guides told us to wear small Canadian flags so that we would not be confused with Americans and have a better response from everybody we meet.
lizajean williams no worries there, as soon as the abooot or eyyy slips out, the Canadian national anthem starts playing in the background. That and images of poutine.Still not sure why Canadians want to consume French fries smothered in suspect sauces called something that sounds like the Indian word for Vagina.
Canada says americans are big fat rude and loud. America says "Ey, Canadians are cool." Are we the nerdy kid who thinks their friends with the cool kids when the cool kids make fun of them?
SirMunches all the news we see up here is how overweight your countries people have become. How big your portion sizes are and how much you all murder each other. So blame our media. Lol
The Sari Studios No blame our media. It does whatever the fuck it can for clicks to get revenue, now matter how false or biased the story may be. Hope that if donald trump does anything right, its clean up the media. Nothing against free speech, but maybe legit news companies get a special label so as not to be confused with shit like fox and cnn
Im from Buffalo, NY so I know a decent amount about Canadians... so many of these stereotypes just make me hang my head in embarrassment. The whole apperance thing.... you cant freaking tell a Canadian from an American by how they look. Stupid people thinking they are all white?! For god sakes.... I can only tell when a person is Canadian when they open their mouth to ask for the "washroom" or if they have a french canadian accent. Not by the fact that they are "pale"...... smh
+Aimee Marie (disnerd8619) omg so funny because when we have american tourists where I live and they ask for the "restroom" I always get confused at first, one time I thought they were asking where the "restaurant" was lmao and they had to clarify they were asking for the washroom
I think the biggest insult to a Canadian is to say their country is like the United States. The biggest compliment is Canada is similar to Europe. They would burst with delight if allowed into the EU.
I knew somebody for a year before I found out they were canadian. They really aren't that different. I noticed he talked a little weird but I thought he was from Wisconsin or Michigan.
We don't need to be involved in your bullshit, soooo? And the president and prime minister are in contact with one another??? That's not being distant just pay attention
As a non Canadian living in Canada I'll Tell you the facts....one their women are sexy af two their army doesn't suck at all I've seen these guys they have an air base close to my university three they aren't as polite as you think.. (some are but I won't say most) yes they like hockey and poutine alot and they say words weird but honestly I much rather prefer here than the states
Damn. look at the american stereotype video and canadians were saying all sorts of things and we just brushed it off while on this video like like almost everyone said canadians are nice, like hockey, maple syrup and say eh and they still find a way to get butt hurt. seems like everyone has so much to say about here but at the end of the day they wanna come here
Calikid331 Tbh the video didn't offend me i actually liked it. but these comments are what offend me ( not your's) like people saying our military sucks, like come on we fight for your freedom as much as ours. from a Canadian Eh!
+ryan cruckkett i think the stereotype of how the Canadian military sucks is due to the much smaller budget spent on them i do have alot of respect for military operations groups like those of CANSOFCOM but there only so much u can possibly do with a vary limited budget where as America spends most of its budget on its heavily modernized military
French Canadian here...i personally never said "eh" in a sentence, it's pretty rare...I think it come from British Columbia, one of my english teacher from there used it a little. Never hear Aboot in Canada ever...We are nice but can be dick as well, love hockey personally...I think i eat maple syrup only in some dinners...the morning...mostly on spring...Canadians love beer...A LOT ! About the army...we never lost a war since we officially are Canada, some of the best soldier trained in the world because we have almost all climates in our territory, look our special forces ! You want Canadian on your side in a war ! For everything about winter...our weather is more like the one in Boston or Seattle...except were nobody lives in the North. Also for the guys...super important information...we have some of the most hot and wild girl you'll ever find ! It's awesome ! Now you're informed once and for all ! Love you americans but get real, the stereotype of Robin Sherbasky in HIMYM doesn't exist !!
When Canadian thinks of Americans they strictly think just mainly whites & African Americans and sometimes Hispanics .. While canada is one of the most multicultural countries in the world .. Especially Toronto , Edmonton & Montreal .. Toronto having around 70 % of minorities living there
Gary Oak winnipeg is murder capital of canada so i dont think people are nice there and dont tell me any difference i been living in winnipeg most of my life and i seen more shit then you ever seen in your life
You just haven't lived in the right area of Winnipeg. I live in Winnipeg and have meet lots of nice people. I heard people in Toronto are a bunch of snobs who think they are the center of the universe.
Canadians have left such a wonderful impression on me as a child and as an adult, I have hung out with some that it seems as if we knew each other our entire lives. I Love our neighbors
Jason Webers, you SHOULD feel bad. Canadians are a hateful bunch o' toxic-spewing haters. I had no IDEA they were like that. Their hearts are evil. That's why their words are so hateful.
lol we're all white? more than half the people in Toronto are immigrants and in my city it seems like every third person is Filipino. I don't see more than a couple black people a day but the amount of asian immigrants is crazy. I'm not complaining either, it's what Canada is about and all the immigrants I meet are really nice so they fit right in.
Okay, I completely understand what you're saying, but you gotta think about where these Americans are- it's completely diverse. Every religion and race you can imagine live where they live. So compared to what they're used to, yes Canada is mainly white.
Drew Gadsby I don't feel like I'm being biased.. I grew up in America but I also lived in Toronto for 4 years, that's just my personal opinion based on my own experiences.
I meet people of different religions and heritages every day. Many Muslims or Hindus, black people, oriental people (mostly Chinese,Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese. Europeans (specifically Serbians, Ukrainians, Russians and Greeks) and I can't forget our Native people. That's a lot of different types of people that I have met or become friends with.
Like America, Canada is a large country. I have lived next to Canada in New York, and also in Michigan, and I have heard Canadians say "a-boot". But Americans in Northern Michigan have that same accent, so I suspect it's regional and not necessarily Canadian.
I can tell you every BC Canadian (8 yrs living near the border) I've spoken with has that accent with the long ooo's, like aboot and proocess. I've also spoken with a few Canadians from Toronto who had the same accent.
I remember going to Popeyes in Florida on vacation (because we heard it was really fucking good, which it is and thank god we have it Canada now) and we were talking to the guy at the register and he asked where we were from, we told him we were from Canada, he looked me and my mom all surprised then he just yells out "don't worry, I got you Canada". Idk just a funny little story about how Americans react when they hear you're from Canada.
Canadians: I truly believe that many Americans say things we know about Canadians as stereotypes because we mostly don't have any of them. We know they have a large maple syrup industry, so we say they love maple syrup. The stereotype that they say, "Ay" & use the O vowel in a few words differently comes from movies we watch. I believed these also until I saw so many Canadians saying they don't do this as much as we claim. Of course we bring up hockey. But, again, it isn't a stereotype. It's a fact. You guys love hockey & are known for your excellent teams.
Tammy McMillan I love how Canadians are getting upset...their worst stereotypes are that they are NICE! and that they love maple syrup, and play hockey, and maybe, just maybe on occasion say 'ay.' They should watch the reverse video which paints American's like we're morbidly obese, loud, rude, gun toting, hillbillies with too much pride. I mean if anyone should be upset, its us, ay!
Tammy McMillan I don't think we are upset about the niceness, maple syrup, and hockey stereotypes so much as the weak military and lack of diversity. Most of what these people were saying is true. However Toronto is the most diverse city in North America, more so the New York, or Los Angeles. And when reporters went over to Europe during and after the war they asked the people about soldiers from other countries. Many people were amazed at how hard working the Canadians were, and when no one could take a hill they called the Canadians.
Everyone saying that Canadians were really mean in the other video but in reality even though we do say some "mean" (but true) about Americans we actually love and respect our neighbours (for the most of us)
I get a kick out of how they picture Canadians all as "white people", considering we're such a multicultural and diverse country. Which is a big reason lots of Canadians are proud; as well as when we do travel we display the Canadian flag because with the abundance of people from different countries, and our acceptance of them. When we display the flag, people are generally nicer to us then they would be to just anyone from other countries, because of that acceptance of their culture, and ethnicity.
The only thing that surprised me about these interviews was that most of the people being questioned think that Canadians are very white. Interesting. Toronto, for example, was voted by the United Nations to be the most ethnically diverse city in the World. Canadian cities in general are very culturally and ethnically diverse. I mean Canada is just as much a melting pot as the United States, if not more so, and immigrants are encouraged to openly express their cultural heritage more so than anywhere else in the world.
Looking at the world wars wise Canadians have a great army, they also treated their POWs so well the POWs did not want to leave. I am shocked no one mentioned moose and beavers...
Americans: Those geeks from Quebec are generally more rude. Don't be confused though. Canadians are generally nice, but to our buddies we can be real a holes. A bunch of hosers tossing each other into the snow bank.
They are not rude, they just to not like this arrogant and rude attitude that many unilingual english speakers think that it is granted that everybody should speak english to them.
bajan503 . Not more that the english Canadian!!!! Ottawa is supposed to be the capital of a bilingual state, but still do not want to be officially a bilingual city. Is it not sort of racism and discrimination!!!!!
Why did no one mention that Canadians are funny? There are sooo many Canadian comedians here! (Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, John Candy, Norm McDonald, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara, Dan Akroyd, Leslie Nielsen, Eugene Levy, and on and on and on). Maybe being stuck indoors all the time b/c of the cold they do stand-up to entertain themselves.
nice video Mr Yafa , always doing a professional interviews :) Canada is beautiful country and beautiful women :)))) but in the winter it's very cold :)))
As an American who has lived half my life overseas I have contact with a lot of expats many of whom are Canadians. They are diverse and not one statement fits all Canadians. Some of my closest expat friends are Canadians - very dear friends. But here are some observations I've seen repeatedly... - From what I hear, Canada is pretty lax in marijuana and many Canadians are accepting of it even if they don't use it. They carry this attitude with them overseas in countries which are very strict against marijuana. They do not respect that law and continue their practice in a spirit of mockery. None of my Canadian friends have been caught yet(!) and they have a very non-chalant attitude towards the local marijuana laws. - Several Canadians don't like other Canadians. They seems to have no problem associating with American expats but will go as far as telling us they do not want to meet another Canadian and if there is another Canadian they tell us they will not meet with us or ask us not to reveal that they are Canadians. - They get irritated when Americans talk about how cold America is but in other discussions say the left Canada because it's too cold. - A lot of American expats love America although they debate and criticize America. But it seems that several Canadian expats I've met absolutely hate Canada and everthing about Canada (except it's health care). One particular Canadian actually bows down on knees to locals to thank them for allowing him to stay in their country and describes how he hates Canada. Although I'm not Canadian this embarrassed me when I'm with him and he does this. - They have some sort of complex about the Canadian dollar (looney). If it's on par with the US dollar then they go around to tell all Americans it's on par (Americans couldn't care less). But when the Canadian Dollar slips in value they go around telling the Americans that it used to be on par. I've seen American expats help out Canadian expats in financial need. But when American expats have financial difficulty the Canadians are very loud in condemning USA financial management. - Here's a big one. They love to go on and on in telling Americans how superior in every way they than Americans. I haven't seen them do this so much to no other nationality except considerably noticeable to Americans - so much to the point that other nationalities will secretly tell American expats how rude and arrogant they find the Canadians are to Americans. - They say Americans are loud, fat and flashy. Maybe some Americans are. But so are some Canadians as well. Americans, for good or bad, find themselves in the spot light, as well as Brita. Canadians, I feel, are a bit jealous of this. The way I can tell this is when we American citizens are under the spot light the Canadians are sitting there strongly telling us how nice it is not to be in the spot light - a little bit too strongly. I think they protest a bit too much.
No you don't have swag, heifersonthelawn. Wishful thinking? You will NEVER have swag. Look where you live. A swag-less country that lives in its own hateful, petty, narrow, out of touch bubble of hate.
why are is the Canadian stereo types comments on but not your other video where people talk about American stereo types? is it because Americans are all uptight about it and found out what the rest of the world says about them?
leah elle Well thats the stereotypes, in reality we are both pretty much the same. I am Canadian and I know a lot of nice americans and there are plenty of assholes who live here. Both countries have their pros and cons.
Lol I live in canada. Canadians are the most multicultural country, I believe. Also we dress like Americans lol wtf? No swag? Um and I'm black. I also can't stand hockey. And everyone loves maple syrup. Bye.
So I live in Canada and trust me, not everybody is nice. I encounter many rude people on the daily. And the guy at 3:54 said we never actually say "eh", well actually, where I live, we say it in like every few sentences but most of the other stereotypes weren't true
+Dan Gauron the canadians werent saying how they felt about americans they were talking about general stereotypes.. which btw if you watch any of the other videos on this channel where he asks the dutch or other places they happen to be the same stereotypes.. its generalizing.. lol
we aren't hateful. we're jus tired of the fact that we r constantly made fun of, and accused of having stupid accents when our accent is THE. SAME. FCKING. THING as Americans... so its not 'sad' how hateful Canadians r, its sad how Americans r bullies
Looks like Americans like Canadians a lot more than Canadians like Americans
I think as a whole we Canadians tend to think down about your people because of your politicians. I promise you if you come visit we will be friendly lol
+Drew Gadsby I think that makes sense. Also, I think Canadians think Americans are stupid because some of them are voting for Donald Trump...
+Drew Gadsby yeah i think thats true lol I have american friends that i love but the politics scare me lol
Non you just have alot less shit to say about us because we dont put shit evry where we are!
I guess that right, I mean y would we like ppl who literally make fun of us..?
Wow Americans were much nicer and respectful on their views on Canadians vs what the Canadians said about the Americans 😔
+Naomi Leigh Garza americans are always nicer in these interviews, i think they weeded out the assholes though
+jay “ogbobbydilmer” yay I have to disagree. These are general stereotypes that pretty much every country thinks. Yea there are assholes I admit but we're a lot nicer then people think
it's cos there on camera
Syaryde 9 im anerican tho
That one kid who claims that Canadians are "way too polite" grabbed his crotch while he said it. Now that is class.
What's ironic is that would be seen as an American stereotype, but judging by the kid's accent, he's not even from the States
Jared Hansen That's why it's funny. It's ironic. And hypocritical. I find hypocrisy, especially blind hypocrisy, pretty amusing! lol
I found it quite amusing too
tell me about it
Only you would pay attention to that 😂
You know why Canadians wear little pins with the maple leaf while traveling? So people don't mistake them with Americans and get instantly hated on.
+DanielS
So true. It seems the Yanks were on to our trick over 15 years ago, but hadn't bothered to learn any other languages! ;)
+neuralmute you do realize you just hated on him based on stereotypes right? He could've been a nice guy and you shut him out
Ralphie Shostakovich
Honestly, we were pissed that this guy was trying to play off our good reputation as a lie, and possibly tarnish it.
+DanielS Only dorks have Canadian flags or pins when they travel.
I find it funny that Canadians said Americans were stuck up, yet they were the ones who called us fat and self centered. And then the Americans who were supposedly stuck up were being very nice about their comments towards Canadians. Just an observation 😋

He was asking about stereotypes, it wasn't actually what they thought
Canadians say that stuff about Americans because Americans are making up random things about our country. Americans are super rude to Canadians all the time. Like some stupid things they said were
- aboot (nobody says that)
- eh (that’s not that common)
- our army sucks (not at all)
- were all white (not even close)
- farmers (where did that come from)
- coldness (yeah it’s cold but it is in some parts of the USA too)
- plaid shirts (umm no)
Americans are SO ignorant to Canadians and us Canadians are tired of it. I can’t tell an American that I’m Canadian without them saying “oh yeah eh” like shut up and stop thinking that you’re right about everything! We are more multi cultural then Americans because we allowed refugees into our country when USA didn’t.
@@jennamarchand3201 bitch what
Canadians seem to have a kid brother complex. They tend to go on about how we Americans think about them, but truth be known, we don't think about them at all.
+ndogg20 You have to accept that the times you guys do, you think they're nice and stuff and with no good reason start to mock them .-.
+Pau Naic true
+ndogg20 And that in itself defines most Americans. Americans know about Americans (barely).
As a Canadian these are mostly true. I'm grateful that they said all really nice things. :)
Yeah, speaking that all of the Canadians called us Americans rude, loud, and obnoxious
dont forget about always got guns
Same feeling, but nobody actually pronounces anything different than americans would, besides a few words, we say "about", not "a boot"!
He should have gone to the south to get some better opinions.
Yeah, then the rest of the world says we're all big, fat, loud, idiots... :(
The Canadians in the other video said we were all pretty much stupid and fat. I come to this one and there is nothing but niceness.. Except for some parts lol.
I agree lol I was like "wait they were mean and we're nice to them!" hahaha
Ironic right! Nothing nice about what they said about Americans!
Yea, we work 60-80 hours a week.
Keep in mind that the stereotypes don't represent the people who have the stereotypes.
I'm going to guess they were repeating stereotypes, when you're the most technologically advanced country in the world, also the biggest military in the world, people are scared of you, so they try to make you feel bad about being from the US, that's how you got these stereotypes, they're just repeating them.
Canada is America's hat and Canadians are just mythical creatures who live in the mountains that only come out for the Winter Olympics. Lol jk jk
lol I'm canadian and its so wrong
I actually laughed so hard, I'm a Canadian, even worse I'm a Québécois so I get even more stereotypes put onto me! The Winter Olympics thing is true though, and we are the best eh!
Or is America Canada's pants?
I like to think of America as our diaper
The Canadian Moose take a joke
See the Americans were cool, every other country including Canada gave rude stereotypes and agreed with them.
I love most of our stereotypes were that they're nice and polite and most of the Canadian's stereotypes of us were that we're stupid, obnoxious and fat. Kind of the opposite of what you'd expect.
.
+Jack Robbins The whole world has the same stereotype about Americans. And dont forget, these are stereotype, not actually how we see Americans.
Canadian stereotypes are about the south, and they're not all that different than American stereotypes about the south.
Like some stupid things they said were
- aboot (nobody says that)
- eh (that’s not that common)
- our army sucks (not at all)
- were all white (not even close)
- farmers (where did that come from)
- coldness (yeah it’s cold but it is in some parts of the USA too)
- plaid shirts (umm no)
Americans are SO ignorant to Canadians and us Canadians are tired of it. I can’t tell an American that I’m Canadian without them saying “oh yeah eh” like shut up and stop thinking that you’re right about everything! We are more multi cultural then Americans because we allowed refugees into our country when USA didn’t.
Sincerely,
A proud Canadian🇨🇦
In the Canadian video they were so rude. We said nothing but nice things about them for the most part. Makes you wonder who really are the rude people
Stephanie Grimwood We'll be nice to you until we find out you're American.
Toronto by itself outdoes your whole country.
nexxusty
The "stupidest" things, lol okay.
Good job, Canadian.
nexxusty that comment plays right into the point of the original post.....
Stephanie Grimwood
He was asking about stereotypes. I can promise you most Canadians don't actually believe them
☕️
Canadians - "Americans are rude and fat."
(Not one American he interviewed was fat)
Americans - "Canadians are really nice and polite."
Lmao facts
I love fat people. They can't run away when you want to hug them! lol
Especially when you remember it was Canadians (Anglo and French) who helped to get the Nazis out of their original homelands, whilst the French had capitulated and set up their Vichy regime
So here's a joke "During one of the many wars that the French and the British fought and the French usually lost, the French just happened to capture a British Major.
Chelsea Crockett aye

Canada is 76% white
We are both mostly white

I looked at census Canada. couldn't find that guys 76% white number any where. I don't like the term melting pot. everything you throw into a melting pot all melts together and turns one colour. the states can keep it. we're more of a rainbow. one colourful cohesive unit. it's a beautiful thing. that's the majority. unfortunately we do still have some racism like any other country.

canadans wear little flags because they don't want to be confused with americans
That's really true! When I was in college and doing a musical tour in Europe, the guides told us to wear small Canadian flags so that we would not be confused with Americans and have a better response from everybody we meet.

I've learned one thing from these stereotype videos. Everybody thinks America is shit.
I think the biggest insult to a Canadian is to say their country is like the United States. The biggest compliment is Canada is similar to Europe. They would burst with delight if allowed into the EU.

Trailer Park Boys taught me everything I needed to know about Canada.
can anyone explain to me why Americans think we say "a -BOOT" for about? I"ve never heard a single Canadian say this in 46 years.
+Colleen Conway
Cartoons usually have Canadian characters say it.
Colleen Conway ppl in Nova Scotia talk funny or Newfoundland say aboot lol
***** It`s "eh" ;)
The way you speak is like awesome lol. Like very news reporter in a good way.
Everyone saying that Canadians were really mean in the other video but in reality even though we do say some "mean" (but true) about Americans we actually love and respect our neighbours (for the most of us)
Also we are one of the most multicultural countries in the world
@@yubbabubbadoo maybe but we are much more diverse
4:54 farmers? What do you farm in that weather???!!
+Time4U2Run in the prairies... during spring-fall.
They say 'yo' ... My cousins are from there... I hope to visit one day :)

COME TO TORONTO!!
As a Canadian, this is painful to watch😂

"Canadians, like who are they?" well I guess that pretty much sums it up.
I learned that Eh.. also is said a lot in Yorkshire, England,,,
Canada is like a younger sibling to America; always trying to be recognized and always hating the big brother because can't beat 'em
WHAT!?
i like turtles i like turtles too
Americans wish their current situation was as good as Canada's.
If you want to live the American dream, move to Canada.
Actually Canada is technically older because the first explorer landed in Canada .no hate plz just educated opinions
@@Arbiter8787 nope its America we had a settlement before canada.
Do a next video for what are the caribbean stereotypes
i dont know where the stereotype of canadians have a bad army came from
the canadian army is pretty awsome
like a little america jr
They said it is cold but they never said it snows a lot. Well in regina there is quite a bit of snow
Watching the Canadian video they are so much mean then we are and they are saying that we are mean lmfao
Good job showing both the East and West Coast.
I'm from Canada and I have swag
YASSS
“swag” in this context is ghetto. Ghetto is low class.
We say nice stuff about them and they say such rude stuff about us
leah elle Well thats the stereotypes, in reality we are both pretty much the same.
Bye.
Swag is American canadians have no fashion.
"you need some fur to live up there" literally me during winter 😂😂
WE DONT SAY ABOOT...
+Faras Ali My professor is from Canada, and he says aboot...
Yeah. It's more like "aboat", really.
+Faras Ali Yes, you do say aboot, which makes me wonder why Canuks keep losing their other boot. After all, it's coooooold up there.
BenjaminFranklin99 Lol... Not really, it hasn't even snowed yet and it should've snowed back in early November.
2:25 how stoned was that guy
God, Rob Ford xD
Video is suddenly cut as soon as you reach New York
This is so funny because Canada is like one of the most multicultural countries in the world
So I live in Canada and trust me, not everybody is nice. I encounter many rude people on the daily. And the guy at 3:54 said we never actually say "eh", well actually, where I live, we say it in like every few sentences but most of the other stereotypes weren't true
"I don't want to be politically incorrect but..." (im going to state a fact and hope I don't hurt someone's feeeeeelinggggssssssss!) :\
Canada people are very friendly and nice hope to maybe vist sometime soon I hope everyone is well I am from Ohio.
Sad how hateful Canadians are :( I'm American but my family is Canadian (look at my last name!) and this makes me sad.
The accent can actually be very accurate farther down South Canada. Believe me, I'm Canadian myself.
3:45 when he said so frickin nice he sounded Canadian, eastern Canadian
Lol all these Americans getting triggered because the Canadians were roasting us in the other video
lol its just too true
Deepends frying the shit out of us lol
The guy in the glasses from Brooklyn seems very intelligent, I'm impressed
