I think Rece's point at the very end sums it up perfectly. Places like Bama, Ohio State, or Oregon are used to College Gameday coming there so it is not as big of a deal and it is not as special. The 5 places listed (sans LSU) arent often visited every year but they are fairly relevant programs that have strong fan bases and mnake the College Gameday atmosphere cooler
zachwhitlow4 Exactly! You can't get a stronger fan or alumni base than Penn State (who has the distinction of having the largest active alumni association in the country).
Pennst is as tradition rich as it gets in cfb so your premise that the schools listed are only there because GameDay doesn't go very often makes zero sense.

If Arkansas was fortunate to win enough games to have College game day, they’d be on the list. We have of the best fan bases in the country and with the last time gameday being in Fayetteville 2006, there would be a huge turnout for the show.

I went to TCU and was at Gameday last year. There was a party in Campus Commons that started Friday afternoon and lasted until 2 AM when thousands of students crowded around the entrance to the gated area hours before the crew was there. Keep in mind that TCU has less than 10,000 undergrads and are still able to produce an electric environment. It’s just awesome.

Roy Sears First of all if they're wise and study they'll graduate from the University with a Degree AND NO STUDENT LOAN DEBT...so who's paying for all those scholarships? Secondly, all the amenities that they recieve cost money: the Trainers, Strength Coaches, food, lodging, etc...who pays for that? Thirdly, none of these players are forced to do a damn thing...they can play or not play, go to school or not go to school--it's THEIR CHOICE!! Lastly, the NFL isn't in the habit of going to offices, garages, restaurants, police stations, etc looking for talent...that's why they have the Combines, and the vast majority of players who participate do so tbrough their Universities (so if they're not in school, playing, gaining exposure, what are their chances at the open Combines when there 10x as many people and time is short due to so many guys coming). Y'all have it twisted, no one is forcing these kids to do anything. This is not the NBA or NHL where maybe a kid can come straight from High School and make a team...they need that time in college to physically (and hopefully mentally) mature. The problem I have with statements like yours is that implication that Black kids at these schools are "different"...THEY'RE NOT!! They're AMERICANS playing a sport at an AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF HIGHER LEARNING who happen to be of African descent (most)...stop bringing race into everything damn thing because it's sickening.
