When your a junior in hs and EVERYONE constant tells you how this is the time to do EVERYTHING so you can't relax. Start a website, nonprofit, volunteer online, write college essays, apply for scholarships, write a book, study for ap exams. I'm going insane Looolll I forgot that I wrote this hahaha. I’m doing a lot better. I found something called ✨ balance✨ and I’m genuinely starting to actually live in the moment understanding what matters to me. Haha that was cheesy but it’s true. Quarantine has given me the time to focus on myself which is something i have never done before. So thank you all for your words of wisdom!!!
Evelyn write college essays , write a book wtf is wrong with these people and how tf are you supposed to apply for scholarships ur just a junior in highschool Dude just relax just do something you love and that makes you relax you can learn new things but you don’t have to do all these things
This is pretty much the same in college, people telling you to apply for internships, be a ta, do some research, start a startup, etc, and it's probably the same for the rest of our lives, so just do what you can/want and relax when you should :)
OOH I feel you. It's so stressful and frustrating especially now that's we *can't* do most of the things we were going to do but everyone tells us that we /still/ have to do something
The green transitions between the skills (esp. the hamster wheel) are so cute they almost made me forget how important the actual skills are ;) Love from Korea🙈
I’m a college student with 4 failed subject , that was my downfall as a top student in senior high. I lost my loveones and I’m totally depressed. However the good thing now is I’m starting to be more productive and positive in life. Do your best ppl , you can do it (Sorry for bad english).
I failed 2 subjects and I was a top student in senior high too, so that was my downfall as well. I felt like a whole different person, lost, dissapointed of myself. And I'm still kinda struggling with it, but lately I've been doing better. I just realized that it's totally ok, I don't have to be a master in everything, it's all about putting effort to stay motivated and productive. In conclusion, you're not alone. Good luck!
I was a a college student with three failed classes and I still graduated this May. You can do it. Failing subjects does not equal to being worthless. You can do it!
As someone who recently graduated from college, I can confirm that these are super important. In fact, the relaxing part might be the most important of all, because if you don't you WILL burn out. Don't think you're a hero that's immune to it. All of us are human and we need balance. To add to the financial topics, my family did not teach me financial literacy so I learned it the hard way. But I think the biggest thing to learn first is to automatically deposit part of your money into savings through direct deposit if you can. If you don't see the money, you won't try to use it. Also, something I wished I did was contribute a bit toward my student loans while in college, either from part of my paycheck or applying for more scholarships. It's easy to ignore because you don't *have* to pay yet, but even if it's just $20 a month, it adds up! Overall, the minimalist mindset I developed toward the end of college helped me learn these things deeper than what someone suggesting I try these things ever could. Once you understand and embrace that kind of philosophy, you start to see the deeper impact of your frivolous choices. Not just on your own life, but the world. It gives you a larger purpose and adds meaning to your choices.
a friend of mine had a burnout and seeing that was really scary. :( I think I was saved sort of by corona since I was forced to just sit at home for a while, and it really helped me relax. My anxiety got so much better now I haven't been this calm in years.
@@spilledmilk_ I'll try ^^ it's really hard to shake off the fieling of "oh my god I need to be productive all the time". But in the end, it is much more beneficial to just go and take the break rather then forcing oneself to keep studying and struggeling to focus all the time. T_T
not just embroidery is good for you! you can also learn to knit, crochet, or cross-stitch crochet is by far one of the easiest and most substantial of these crafts :) don’t let embroidery intimidate you
I love embroidery! I try to catch up on shows and movies while doing so. It hard to watch tv sometimes because I feel like I’m waisting time, but embroidery helps get rid of that feeling.

I now eat three to four times a day, w more regular portions and at regular hours and honestly it's kind of beautiful! So whether you're an athlete or not, take care of your nutrition! And also don't do any weird weightloss diets):
We're the same grade and we're both going to take a step into college together. I feel like we've been friends for a long time since the time I subscribed to you lol. ahahaha. Here's to a fulfilling college journey! ✊
@Andy Dandy Same here....i also turned 18 this year and m gonna go to college this year....and i also feel the same like jasmine is my friend(love you jasmine💜) Wish you best of Luck!👍 Edit:i am an army too...😘
How are we the same age? You’ve done so much in your life while I just lay in bed all day. This is very inspirational. I hope I can stop being a lazy bum when I enter college next year otherwise I’ll flop lol
Great video Jasmine, I should really incorporate this before going to college next year. I really need to learn how cook so that i can save money and actually be able to balance my life
I think that when I start university sewing will be a big part of my relaxation time. Making a lot of my own clothes is something I would love to be able to do in the future, for both having perfect fitting clothes and it is much more sustainable than fast fashion. It also makes me appreciate the time it takes to make the clothes I wear everyday.
studyquill where is your sweatshirt from? I’m also heading to UCLA in the fall (if all things calm down) and I’ve been searching for the perfect shirt or sweater 💙💛
The Four Tendencies literally changed how I viewed my entire life and it's really helped me to use my Rebel tendency to my advantage in what ways I can. I always assumed I was just The Worst, but reframing it as Gretchen Rubin describes improved my self-talk as well as my ability to follow through on habits
i absolutely love how jasmine has been more open and relaxed but also her videos have gotten so much better! i'm also looking for a pen pal but it's so hard for me :(
i know you already did a video about how to do well generally on the SAT, but could you do own focusing on the math section since you got an 800? i’m trying to improve in that area and it’d be extremely helpful!
we're of the same age, yet i still don't know how to do most of these, especially the last one. i also have already forgotten how to sew. wish i've seen this sooner but i guess late is better than never. i'm working on improving myself too so i'll be able to handle myself independently when the times comes i need to do so, and so i can be proud of myself. thank you so much for sharing this!
I agree with the first point so much! Being a high school student, even in this period of lockdown I feel the urge to do _something_ , or anything to keep myself occupied or "productive". Though I've tried to shake off that feeling, it does not help that my parents too want me to study every waking second of the day =_='
me : learn to be self-discipline n be more productive *Jasmine : learn to relax properly n be unproductive sometimes* It's still hard to believe that we are the same age... well... stay hydrated // *stay safe n healthy*
You are so much calmer and confident. I was listening to your old videos and I could hear the nervousness. Everyone has mental health fun moments. Don't worry, everything is always okay, even when it seems it doesn't.

i really like your overall vibe in this video. you seem really calm and confident which helps me feel calm as well, not to mention the way you are speaking is great because it doesn't sound pretentious but rather just a friend tell me what they are doing. I hope you and your family are doing okay and are safe, keep it up!!
I just bought your book and hopefully it can help me kickstart my forever goal of starting a bullet journal. I mean, I have nothing else to do in quarantine so I decided to buy it :)
I am learning Spanish currently to make light out of this time. I hope you all stay well and healthy. All of your videos are really usefull and relatable. They gave me ideas and insporation that i didn't have before💕❤💕❤
As a high school senior preparing for college I agree with all of these points! I can especially relate to the first skill - I am still learning to relax :) Came here for the bullet journals about a year ago, stayed for the college advice. Thanks for keeping me inspired!
Jasmine has a such more organised brain than me, and I'm 23, I'm older. Obviously that is never a reason, because she's teaching me so many things, and her voice is so soothing. She inspires me every time. Thank you Jasmine, for sharing your knowledge and your wisdom!!
Yess I'm a big believer in the Four Tendencies (I'm a Questioner/Obliger) and could definitely work on my own accountability and relaxing, esp when I fall into the hustling productivity culture bubble too.
I'm totally new to this channel, but I love how down to earth you are compared to other self care/productivity channels. Its not perfectly filmed, reasonably aesthetic, it feels really nice ♡ Plus like I think we're closer to the same age so your words and sense of humor hit the spot just right ^^ 2 yrs into college here but getting it together!!
I am a current junior in college and I think this is a really good list of things to know. Especially keeping in touch, sometimes shit can happen with your college friends and it will be nice if you're still in touch with your HS friends. My HS friends and I have a whatsapp group and we are still incredibly close despite none of us being at the same school. Personal finance too, its really easy to just spend when you go out with friends or buy lunch because its convenient so a budget really helps with that (my rule is that I don't spend from Monday-Thursday)
One thing i highly recomend if you have a steady pocket money or income, is to set a money box aside for college or future stuff and put alittle bit of it in each time. Im nearly 18 and have been putting atleast £10 a month into my money box for about a year now
I've never heard about the 4 Tendencies prior to this video. I looked into it more, and I think it's quite helpful in explaining why I made certain life decisions. Thanks for mentioning it.
Hello! Not a college student or a transitioning highschool student; but these are generally good life skills for anyone to have! Thank you for sharing them. ^^
I went to college on March when I am still 17 years old. When I turned 18 (September the same year), my dad hand me over my bank book. I went to the bank and had the officer explain to me what kind of account they have. After all that scribbling over their pamphlet, and 2 weeks spent over thinking what kind of account should I sort my money into. I would say I did a good job my self. Now I am 25, done with college and now working.
Im very exhausted right now because besides my morning online class that lasted from 8 to 3pm, I got one more chemistry class for 2hours everyday at 8pm....and I really need a break and I saw your video about it! Thanks Jasmine
On makeup: The tip I personally found the most helpful was from Sorelle Amore, who pointed out that we should be aware of just how much unhealthy chemicals (carcinogens and neurotoxins...) are used in almost all makeups. An app named Think Dirty has a database of makeups and household products, explaining why each chemical is safe/unsafe and by how much. Being mindful of this and only buying a handful of safe products that I actually need has prevented me from following a natural path of wanting to buy and try all sorts of different makeups. This has saved me lots of money and space.
Just turned 18 last january.. going to college in a few months and my schedule is gonna be hectic because of the work load (will be taking architecture).. this came out at the perfect time. Good luck to all of us! 💜💜
I'm going to college this year and I'm super anxious about it I don't know if I'll get to my dream college and having a kind of insecure and depressed state im kinda afraid that I won't be able to do my tasks by my own or just live on my own I'll always tend to think I'll mess up somehow I just loved the video and how she focused on mental at most
I am in the same grade and same sports and now going to college. I have always felt like she is my friend who is of same age and I feel we going through these college journey together.
Fun fact: When I was a baby, my mom used to sew tons of stuff. I am 11 and turning 12 in September. My mom said that I would grab the needle and thread and something and start sewing. Somehow, to this day, I have never poked myself. But I personally don't really like sewing anymore 😴🙄😒😐💤😦😳😝😝😝😝😂😂😂😂😂😤💩 I was 1 or 2 when I started.....

I would love to see a video about how you kept up your cross country record and how you train! Thanks for this video :) ♥️
Hello! Not a college student or a transitioning highschool student; but these are generally good life skills for anyone to have! Thank you for sharing them. ^^
I'm so glad I found your channel a few months agon. :) It's really interesting to see what being productive actually looks like. T^T
it seems like you're more confident now :) also great animations and editing!
Live your life happily
This channel is so informative and helpful. Like every single video of it
I absolutely adore these more chill talking videos! 🥰 Also, can we just appreciate how gorgeously aesthetic the green title screens are??

I'm going to college this year and I'm super anxious about it I don't know if I'll get to my dream college and having a kind of insecure and depressed state im kinda afraid that I won't be able to do my tasks by my own or just live on my own I'll always tend to think I'll mess up somehow
I just loved the video and how she focused on mental at most

Fun fact:
When I was a baby, my mom used to sew tons of stuff. I am 11 and turning 12 in September. My mom said that I would grab the needle and thread and something and start sewing. Somehow, to this day, I have never poked myself. But I personally don't really like sewing anymore 😴🙄😒😐💤😦😳😝😝😝😝😂😂😂😂😂😤💩
I was 1 or 2 when I started.....
Your videos for some reasons are getting funnier ☺️
I love your videos🥰
Can you teach us some of these skills please?
