He never overplays those fast passages and he plays modal and whole tone sounds but never lingers there. He always centers back to the Blues. He is a blues player but has knowledge much beyond.

What I love about Joe's live performances is how you can see he truly loves to play that instrument. You see the joy in his face and the way he smiles when the drums are kicking them back into the main riff. He's just a guitar nerd who loves what he does and is dedicated to the craft.
Damn, what is there *not to love* about Joe?! As a musician, an artist, a musical alchemist, a freakin’ craftsman...a human being with integrity, generosity and transparency in a genre that as time passes lacks so many of these qualities. My world has been a better place for decades with this man in my life.
It blows my mind how many haters there are. They go as far as to call him talentless and boring.....I just do not get this. The live performances he and his bands put on are incredible. Are these people for real? Or are they just hating because he is better than any of their own favorite musicians? That's the only thing that could make sense......
How fulfilling it must be to attend a concert where everything is live...in the moment..and real! No autotune, no lip syncing...no distractions..just pure musicianship.. delivering it as it is! JB is a guitar god! The band is always top of the line for him too!
His show is outstanding! Seen in Fargo a few years ago. First half of the show was all acoustic. Opened with "Woke up Dreaming " Second half the whole band came out and proceeded to rip our heads off! What a rush!

But he is the most successful blues performer in the history of recorded sound. Joe holds the record for most #1 Albums of ANY music group or person at 25! That is 25 #1 albums on the Billboard Blues chart. I've bee going to concerts for 45 years and am a huge Blues fan. I've seen nearly every great Blues player that was alive for me to see. I've seen Joe B 5 times 14 years. Now 14 years ago, Joe was not this good. He's been better every new time. There are some up and comers that may some day challenge Joe, but that's a ways dow the line! Cheers

I saw Joe and the Band back in 2019 at the Chicago Theater and it was definitely a highlight of all my concert experiences. I walked away from that show saying "I've never in my life seen someone play a guitar THAT hard". He really is one of the best to ever play the game!

But he is the most successful blues performer in the history of recorded sound. Joe holds the record for most #1 Albums of ANY music group or person at 25! That is 25 #1 albums on the Billboard Blues chart.
I've bee going to concerts for 45 years and am a huge Blues fan. I've seen nearly every great Blues player that was alive for me to see. I've seen Joe B 5 times 14 years. Now 14 years ago, Joe was not this good. He's been better every new time. There are some up and comers that may some day challenge Joe, but that's a ways dow the line! Cheers

Joe's coming out party! Rocked London good. Even brought out Eric Clapton for a song. I'll bet he felt real real good after that concert.
I saw Joe and the Band back in 2019 at the Chicago Theater and it was definitely a highlight of all my concert experiences. I walked away from that show saying "I've never in my life seen someone play a guitar THAT hard". He really is one of the best to ever play the game!
