    Wow, that's so dodgy, replacing a inductor with a wire, just wow :)))))))))))))))))

      Thank you, you are correct. I have added an advisory comment to the video.

      Most schematics show both inductors and jumpers as options in many areas. I was confused when I first saw that on a schematic.

    When you are soldering or desoldering a two-terminal SMD component, such as a capacitor, is it better to grab it by the sides with your tweezer, rather than by the metal terminals? If your tweezer tips are touching the metal terminals, the tweezer acts as a heat sink, which makes it take longer to heat the solder junction. Or perhaps it doesn't make a significant difference.

    At 6 :2O you measured at csr and said short gone after removing blob on coil.But the cap that was short is on main rail so csr should have read short.Please excuse my ignorance if i am wrong

    Thanks a lot ! super nice work, I would really like to know why the red probe on ground instead of black for the short circuit test in diode mode? THANKS

    • @CarlosGarcia-d3e
      @CarlosGarcia-d3e 8 месяцев назад

      @transformateur: Hi. The internal battery of the multimeter, when using the Diode Test function, injects a voltage through the UUT (Unit Under Test), that is, in the case of a diode, to polarize it or make it enter its conduction state. If the Diode Test function is used as an "ohmeter" (Resistance Measurement) then the red (+) terminal of the meter must be brought to GND and that way the internal battery of the meter does NOT supply voltage to the UUT when it is touched with the negative (-) terminal of the DMM* or VOM**.
      *DMM = abbreviation Digital Multi Meter.
      VOM = abbrev. Volt Ohm Meter, for the analog meter, which uses a needle or pointer as an indicator on the graduated dial. All the best.

    Are there any updates on the RV 511 video (#51)? I was wondering when you will update us on exploring the battery charging module.

      Hi @bionictran when I went to look for the datasheet for that particular IC, it was very confusing and unclear as to the functions of the pins, and I didn't want to make a video that would have had any value to the viewer. But I did learn the important lesson of not promising things I can't deliver !

    What a great scan of the board. What did you use to scan it?

    • @therepairshare673
      @therepairshare673  11 месяцев назад

      Hi, I use an Epson V600 (CCD) to scan and then do some work in photoshop to bring out the text and colour. But just be aware that if you try to scan taller boards, it loses focus as you put more distance between the component and the scanner glass.
