Hard to find anyone who tells a story in music the way this man does...A true spiritual master, honest and happy thru his time. He helped me awaken.

Thanks for sharing this fascinating clip, not surprisingly he was a great thinker. The world was robbed when we lost Harry Chapin.

I had this on a VHS video a couple of years ago. Harry put his heart, soul & guts into his songs.
There's never going to be another musician like him.

I love how Harry integrates this Q&A time during his performance, however, more than that, what he says here.

what a great guy, an amazing songwriter and always gave so much back to his fans, just took a break to field any questions, no ego involved. my neighbours are about to listen to Harry now....whether they want to or not

Oh how I miss him! The world experienced a profound loss the day he died. Thankfully, there are #AMAZING people, such as Bagnon, who so kindly take the time and trouble to upload videos such as this one so Harry can be with us forever.

If I remember right, Cat's In The Cradle had just come out when this Soundstage was made. That was the only song I knew of his until this show. Instantly became a life long fan. Had tickets to see him at Ravinia when he died!

He referenced a great song Roy Clark popularized. I have loved this guys music for years now; I am only now finding how beautiful a person he seemed to be in his real life. Thank you so much for posting this video bagnon, really appreciative.

Hey, thanks for posting! Harry Chapin - what a man, he was the headliner playing for free at a charity event all four year I went to a university in the mid 70's. Harry would go all out and give every bit of his soul performing and also connect with the audience like no musician I have ever seen, even the ones getting the big bucks. I will never forget those concerts at Huff Hall as long as I live.

    This band was Harry's best.

The 40th anniversary of his tragic passing happened recently and his loss is felt by me at least just as much today. Harry was irreplaceable and his advice to us all was ‘to fill our own shoes’ as best we can.
