Harry...HARRY...what else can be said......nothing if you knew him or even if you just heard him. Complete and rare.

That last segment from the Tonight Show is one I have never seen. No one made better contributions to Harry's songs than the man himself, Big John Wallace. He could sing so so high, like in Taxi, and then so so low, like here and in Mr. Tanner. We all loved and appreciated Harry Chapin, and everyone was incredibly thrilled to hear Big John.

Wow. What a remarkable man with a "heart of gold." A true inspiration for our youth today to do good for others. People are revered more helping the less fortunate and their noble deeds will never be forgotten. I feel they are considered "heroes and heroines" to people and there's nothing like it on earth especially for our children. They look up to us adults as "Gods and Goddesses" in their eyes more than we realize because of the trust they have in us which is of great importance to them. Thank you, Harry, for leaving such an incredible legacy of your devoted love and caring for people along with your touching story songs that struck the strings of our hearts, forever! Peace and love to you. ox

I only became a Harry Chapin fan well after he died - I wish his full body of work was better known today. 💙

I saw Harry in October of 1980 at the old Oakdale Theater in Wallingford Connecticut. I was fortunate because the following summer he died on the Long Island Expressway in an unfortunate and unexpected automobile accident.

The exact way you listen to the 'StorySongs', you are transposed into the song as you listen.

Makes you wonder if he died, so he wouldn't become president..
He cared about people and important causes... and was famous and an activist.

i can only imagine how disappointed harry would be to know that 40 years later, the corporations are SO rich (from government policies and criminal politicians) that world hunger and suffering is infinitely greater, and bill must count some ‘school lunches’ as a measure of success!!
pathetic. if there was any human consciousness in this country, or even any honest men who aren’t criminals running things, thieves like blackrock, microsoft, and apple would be taxed 90% of their earnings until poverty was eliminated.
there’s NO REASON for hunger except the criminal behavior of elitist cultures.

Was feeling great about this until Biden started getting accolades for not doing a darn thing. Can we not keep political butt kissing out of this? I have been a Harry fan since Taxi, purchased all of his vinyl as soon as it was released.

I absolutely love Harry Chapin and everything he stood for. I cried the day he died. You are promoting a child food program, that is in the public schools, that does nothing but promote obesity and poisons our children. I spent years in the public school system and watched what was served to our children. The packaging has more nutrients than the food inside. Please see for yourselves.

This man was a horrible womanizer. That's what I heard . He like John Denver would have a different woman after every concert. And that's a horrible way to treat your wife. John denver actually admitted to it. Even so I would have come alongside.Harry and saved him that unhorrible night. I would have given him a ride to the concert.😊
