In my opinion the best luxury SUV is the Lexus. The reliability is 2nd to none. They’re very comfortable, very well built plush vehicles. The hybrid systems are tried and true.
My perspective is from the compact perspective. I impulse purchased the Lexus NX 350 F Sport (first time in my life). Regretted it ever since. I should probably have gotten the GV 70. I really did not love the RDX etc. Down the road, the Jap car to buy might a Mazda from a drivers perspective at least. I am slightly nervous about what I just did…..but, I have a new car warranty and if I feel it is problem I can get rid of it right around the end. I got an Audi SQ5. I actually traded in my 2018 Q5 to get the Lexus as it had 57,000 miles. But, it had never given me a lick of a problem. So, I am paying for my mistake. Meanwhile I am really enjoying the Audi.
These are (mostly) all good vehicles, but your categorization is too broad to be very helpful. There are small, mid-sized, and large SUV categories, and this list focuses on the mid-sized and smaller categories. The list also, with exceptions of the BMW and Porsche, emphasizes reliability and comfort over performance and driving experience - but not everyone wants that.
You will see a prior comment from me asking you about your recommendation on Luxury SUV’s-Well i just made my decision with your recommendations and reviews-I am going back to Lexus-RX 350!!! Hope they still have the Heated and Cooling seats 😊
Appears Lexus has no SUV with a comfortable 3rd row for adults. That leaves the Expedition, Tahoe, Suburban, Escalade, Wagoneer L and possibly Grand Highlander and QX80. The Grand Highlander being the only one with reasonable gas mileage. Thanks for the reply! @@zhaohuibenchen7166

The only way you can put Lexus and Audi in a sentence about reliability is by showing them in opposition (antonyms). Lexus is the #1 most reliable car brand, while Audi is somewhere at the bottom of reliability. The same goes for the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). Audi or Merc cannot be in any top 10 of best luxury cars. Maybe Bring My Wallet can be better, but definitely not in a top 10 - where only Porsche (out of all the European producers) can get in. Audi 🤣
I would stay away from the overpriced, expensive for maintenance and not so reliable European cars. Genesis is a new player that makes me curious but Acura and Lexus are on top of my list.
Even though Cayenne is a luxury SUV I believe it doesn't belong to this segment. It is most suitable for sporty SUVs. Such Jaguar F-PACE, Maserati Levante, BMW X4, and so on
The ONLY RELIABLE cars are those made from Tahara Plant in Japan. NOT ALL LEXUS cars are manufactured there. The GX, LS and IS are. The TX is manufactured in Indiana, USA. The RX in Canada.
Tahara is not the only Lexus factory in Japan. It might be best but other ones are not far behind and all represent same Lexus quality standards. My IS was made in Tahara plant but my NX was made in Kyushu plant in Japan and I can’t say it’s worse quality than the IS.
Great video!…let me add…Avoid GV80…everything is great until you need service….evaporator of mine broke (at 21k miles in almost 3 years)…part is in back order and no ETA as of when will be in. Today 20 days later…still no car, no loaner, no one from Genesis has reach out…
Your prices on the NX are waaaaaayyy wrong. Try $46k-62k and if you want the hybrid add another 6k over msrp. I've owned 5 lexus and they're the best. Currently own an older ES for my wife and my new NX ICE (which cost $54k).

Then during the GV80 test drive of a gorgeous silver and beige I realized just how shity rock hard the seat is because ten minutes before I had tested my first Acura MDX Advance and melted into the seat. I spend major hours in the seat at 30k of work per year so the MDX blew me away. All the frosting on the GV80 is way better but it’s immaterial when the comfort is so atrocious. Didn’t mind much that the MDX saved me $7k either 😁

Putting an Acura above a BMW is crazy. BMW has proven that their new generation is much more reliable than they used to be. Their 6 cylinder engine was good enough to be put into a Toyota. Heck, the Supra is basically a BMW. Acura is a leather and overpriced Honda. If Lexus had an SUV that rivaled the sportiness of BMW and Porsche they’d be the best. For that I would rank almost every Lexus 3rd place just because their driving dynamics is that of an old lady’s car. Numb and slow. Genesis is better than Acura too. I’d rank them 4. Maybe I’m biased bc I own a BMW, but I’ve driven all of these. It’s just what I prefer with comfortability, infotainment, performance, and reliability in mind.
Your top 10 is two Acura models and one Genesis and no Mercedes-Benz? I'm starting to get frustrated with you.
