Premier is the GOAT when it comes to minimal hip hop. To think about the sound that comes from just a few samples and a drum track. The king of the floppy 📀
Easily one of the dopest tracks in hip-hop history. This shit should be on everybody's top 10/20 for sure. Royce is such a fukkin' beast. When this dude goes hard, he's almost untouchable.
Royce Da 5'9"was interviewed for the book series *HOW TO RAP* and *HOW TO RAP2* , and shared his rapping techniques. Here he talks about flow. "Jay-Z’s track] “Money, Cash, Hoes”-the song ain’t really about nothing, really he’s just rhyming. But the thing that catches your ear is that flow-it’s the way he rides the beat that makes me like the song."
Agree, dude is crazy towards his bars, he got it lock down. Have you heard Prhyme ? A full album collab of him and Premier? That alone speaks for itself.

DJ Premier and DJ Abilities are hands down two of the best DJ's in the industry, period. It's crazy to think (almost kind I weird actually) that both of their original emcees (Eyedea from Eyedea and Abilities; Guru from Gangstarr for Premier) pass away from natural causes and way to early. I can't even imagine the amazing music those two groups could be/would be putting out right now if Eyedea and Guru were still alive and well today. I'm happy for Abilities and Premier though that they were able to continue their careers with incredible success and recognition! Well deserved for the two of them! RIP Eyedea RIP Guru.
This is the song that made me want to write rhymes, to produce, and engendered the love of the *art* of hip-hop in my soul. I might be a whiteboy from the burbs, but I feel this shit *SO* deeply, and I LIVE THIS SHIT! Like Twista said "art in life". Peace to all the supporters of the *TRUE* art we call Hip Hop. 1LOVE east west north south, abroad, it don't matter. Get it in, produce art, and change the way people *THINK*!
+Davon85J Thank you!! it's the hate that fuels me to work harder at my goals, and i really am thanking you, nor just being sarcastic. And it might be corny but idgaf, thats how I feel when I listen to this track, shit..
Man tbh I wished he never signed back to Shady, Royce was the best in the game in Em's absence. I had Death Is Certain in the ride for almost a year straight
The only Royce album i ever copped was Death Is Certain off this joint alone and it was worth it. This song alone is better then most rappers whole catalogues this is the reasons I love Hip Hop
One of the greatest hip hop tracks of all time. 🔥
