One of my problems with getting older is that I can now appreciate these great soundtracks more than I did when I originally watched these movies. It is not a bad thing to appreciate art, it is just a reminder that I am getting older. 😏 Thank you for the great work you do.
Considered as one of the greatest comedies of all time, starring the great Dusting Hoffman, the movie itself is accompanied by a score, that speaks for the 80's. Dave Grusin had the musical direction and also played the keyboard. For this video I used the film tracks instead of the 10 Tracks soundtrack album, that was comerically released back then to present, as always, what we hear in the movie. Hope you enjoy it! Fred
Wunderschöne Interpretation dieser fein komponierten Meisterwerks im rhythmischen Tempo mit farbenprächtigen Töne verschiedener Instrumente und perfekt kontrollierter Dynamik. Klasse!
As i tought, Dave uses the same personel from his late 70's and early 80's albums for this one (info from DISCOGS): Backing Vocals - Becky Porter, Billy Phedford, Marva Holcolm, Paulette Brown Bass - Abraham Laboriel Drums - Carlos Vega Guitar - George Doering, Mitch Holder, Paul Jackson Jr. Lyrics By - Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman Mixed By - Brad Leigh* Percussion - Steve Foreman* Producer, Composed By, Arranged By - Dave Grusin Recorded By - Humberto Gatica Saxophone - Ernie Watts, Tom Scott Synthesizer - Ian Underwood Trumpet - Gary Grant, Jerry Hey
Dave Grusins` music is so instantly recognisable, I remember watching this movie and loving the music, then one day I watched Falling In Love with Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep, and loved both the movie and the music. Do you ever intend to upload that soundtrack? I would be so grateful if you could, thanks.
Hello there, I indeed have the score, but didnt think of it in the first place to make a video out of it. But as you wish... Stay tuned for the upcoming weekend or maybe 2 weeks. All the best! Fred
I love the movie and the soundtrack. Thank you very much Fred ! Dave Grusin is an excellent composer. I also enjoy his work on Three Days of the Condor (another movie directed by Sydney Pollack) and On Golden Pond. Do you know if there is any official CD release for this last ?
C'est bien la musique de Tootsie, le point commun avec Falling in love, c'est qu'il s'agit du même compositeur, Dave Grusin, une certaine ressemblance est donc possible!
Dave Grusin is such a great musician. His music is so uplifting and so relaxing to listen.

Can’t stop thinking of this awesome soundtrack dave grusin is the man
this takes me straight back to the 80s - when I was truly happy back then
Thanks for upload. I was 16 years old when Tootsie movie played in theatre. Since 1982, this soundtrack stayed always in my mind.
I saw this when it came out, I was 6 and it was the first "film for grown-ups" my dad took me to.
Did the audience howl with laughter throughout?
Fabulous!
Люблю этот фильм и музыку!
