I came here because I've read a reddit post, that mossbag wrote about the voice actors who did the characters voices and I've seen something interesting. Dave Kazi - Cornifer: "Dave did Cornifer's speaking lines. Daze is Hungarian, and he used actual Hungarian phrases when doing these voice lines." Well, theres a problem here. I'm hungarian and I don't know what "chocoele kelectis" or whith hungarian letters "csokoele kelektisz" or the others mean but these are definetly not hungarian words.
Something I noticed is that every other time you buy his map, it's about 30% complete, and not very detailed, but the deepnest map is literally just the 2 rooms you go through from entrance to exit
It's funny how you have all these characters going in and dying but THIS BUG MANAGES TO GO ALL THE WAY DOWN TO EVEN ANCIENT BASIN AND DEEP NEST and make it back to his wife lol.
because he is professional cartographer and can hide and avoid dangerous things effectively? All other bugs picked deadly paths and decided to go fight than flee...

His "dialogue" gibberish was one of the things that made me love this game. Same for Iselda's Bapa nada, and Brumm's that I heard on a run by someone else before buying the game.

can we take a second to appreciate his humming as a game design choice? no matter how lost you get in an area, you will end up hearing him and searching around to buy his map. i swear hearing his voice in an area still unknown has to be the most relieving feeling in this game.
Oh hi cornifer! I was wondering, how come you can get to places like crystal peak or idk deepnest? Did your wife teached you anything? Also how is the marriage going?
Imagine this: Exploring a new area, you feel relieved upon hearing cornifers humming, but something is a bit... Off? Some notes are just slightly different and it sounds a bit more eerie. When you reach him, he looks a bit unlively and cracked. Upon talking to him, corruption suddenly sprouts out of him mangling his cracked exoskeliton. That's when the fucking humming theme plays *intensely* with fucking drums and all that in an epic boss music. He sprouts some parasytic corruption leg thingies and completely wrecks you, hardest fight in the whole game (I mean cornifer was the only character other than you strong enough to explore the whole map). when he dies the corruption explodes out of him and his says his last words (prolly something about his wife) before crumbling to the ground. No dream fight or anything. Hey! At least he drops the map for that area! Wouldn't this be an amazing boss? (Other than the fact you just murdered cornifer)
The problem is that the game is very open, and unless it was actually some kind of Nosk, the developers would have had to make sure the area he's found in is the last one the player explores and the maps for all the others have been obtained already, so that there's a way for them to obtain the maps that isnt just randomly reviving him.

I'm a huge Sci-Fi nerd, but I decided to pick up Hollow Knight since it was on sale... I wasn't really sold at first. It was 1:30 in the morning and I was trying to understand what was going on... Then I ran across this lad humming to himself and listened for five minutes. Just vibed with him. That's what made me love the game
I'm new to the game and i just had to look this up. I love his little song so much, hearing this always brings me so much joy! Especially right now when i found him at the city of tears after dying like 5 times to that wave battle right before reaching him... that was hell
i swear his humming feels incredible to hear, cornifer is a lifesaver and an absolute chad for going to the most dangerous places in hallownest and still not catching the infection. bless this guy

He goes all around hollownest without the map to show him where , makes the maps and goes back to his wife like a boss , the first time i played i thought i'll get the last map off of his corpse or something. I'm Hungarian as well and maybe at 0:31 he says 'tészta' (which means pasta)
I feel lied to. But I also can only hear something that semi sounds like "tészta".
