After that, he got tired of being the king and sold the Kingdom to Sly for all his trash. At least that's how I see it.

When you're one of the few five great knights left in a dead kingdom there is barely gonna be anyone who can actually challenge you. The Knight was definitely Ogrim's first real fight in years which is why he had so much fun

In french And at 0:55 I really understand "tu m'relèves ?" When is falling on his back, that's means "you pick me up?" So it's really accurate, I was surprise he talk to me like that! Enhance the honor and the friendliness of the fight !
Every lets play I watched, the players had similar reactions to the Dung Defender: "why am i fighting this guy? He seems great/fun/happy!" Some were cheered up by his fight even when they were in a bad mood.

I'm late to the Hollow Knight party. I know. I was just trying to find Cornifer in the Waterways when I heard Defender, and I ran like the wind to find him because I thought he sounded like a super-cool friend that wanted someone to hang out with. Just before I started the fight though, I realised the entrance looked like a boss fight room, and saw the spikes that indicated the door that closes behind you. I stalled for a moment, intrigued by an opponent that sounded so happy, but worried I'd loose my Geo - 600 at the moment. Deciding that I could just run back if I had to, I started the fight, and luckily beat him on my first try while he became one of my all-time favorite bosses. It sounded like he was having a blast fighting, and that really changed it for me too. I was actually sad when I beat him... Destroying any hint if greatness, I can't help but be reminded of Breath of the Wild's Master Khoga. Except Defender is actually strong :)
I legit could never find cornifer in the waterways. I got close to him, but these gates blocked my way. luckily i was close enough to make cornifer go away and i could buy the map from iselda.
@@dando541 It's not how close you get to him, there are certain triggers that make him leave each place that you would otherwise find him. Like defeating a specific boss. Editing, here we go: "He will leave after the Knight has progressed enough in the area (usually by defeating a boss) or has defeated all three Dreamers, and will leave a letter for the Knight stating that his map can be purchased from Iselda in Dirtmouth." (From his wiki!)
He's just enjoying himself. Example? He sounds happy while he's hopping in and out of literal shit. He's the most lovable. He's the most enjoyable voicewise
This was probably one of my favourite boss fights in the whole game. Some of the bosses can be pretty frustrating but I was having so much fun fighting him. His yelling and laughter just made me smile the entire time and it felt like a playful fight. You can even talk to him later and he admits to thinking you were a husk. He just seems like an all-around cool dude.

This is my personal favorite boss. I mean don’t get me wrong Nightmare King Grimm and Grimm Troupe Master are great bosses. But this boss is just waaaaayyy too fun and it’s just easy and smooth. I like it.

Yeah, Dung Defender is an enjoyable boss with alot of opportunities to heal.

This is my personal favorite boss. I mean don’t get me wrong Nightmare King Grimm and Grimm Troupe Master are great bosses. But this boss is just waaaaayyy too fun and it’s just easy and smooth. I like it.
