Hi guys! It's time to continue the JRPG jamfest with this amazing Final Fantasy battle theme!
This battle theme makes a perfect metal cover thanks to it's prominent guitar driven rhythm section which gave me such a strong template to work with and hopefully take it to an even more extreme level! I couldn't resist dropping the riff down an octave for some super crunchy Drop C riffage!
I love how dynamic this theme is as well, it has that super energetic main riff but when we have that melody come in, the rhythm section calms down and the baseline does the talking alongside a beautiful classic Final Fantasy melody.
I tried as hard as I could to branch out and let my metal arrangement be (hopefully) as dynamic as the original. Sometimes with metal stuff it's so easy to get caught up in the monotonous all-riffs-all-the-time trap so I always appreciate a chance to break out of that and attempt to make a dynamic piece of music.
I also love the A to B progression of the theme. It has a really nice pace that takes you on a journey which I always love in a composition when done right. It's definitely different than most retro video game themes where it's a more repetitive musical vibe (which I love working with as well but for different reasons)
Overall I had such a blast putting this arrangement together and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!

I still don't understand why people dislike it so much. It has great soundtracks
FFXIII and FFXIII-2 are not perfects (FFXIII could be, but some mistakes are important :'( FFXIII-2 is amazing, but a little too girly and extravagant in style for me), but they are still amazing games (with a very very good OST). Don't listen to haters :p
they suffers the "Dark Souls 2 syndroma": they are very good games, but everybody hate them in comparison of their other opus. that madness push to say that they are bad.

Such an underrated game. One of the few that I put 120 hours in. This brings me back this is so good dude!
+Project Genesis I personally like it more than the previous one. (Mainly because of gameplay mechanic improvements, namely the way you automatically get switched to another non-monster character if the leader gets KO'ed instead of an instant game over, which was, in my opinion, the main problem with the first game.)
The main problem for me was the terrible combat system, pretty much everything automated. The soundtracks are pretty solid though.
@@lil_hot_wings5100 I just finished the first 13 and now playing 13-2 and I can tell there are so many improvements in gameplay, but I am stuck with caius now at oerba, HOW I CAN DEFEAT HIM?!?!?!

+Master X I personally would pause this game or take my time to act without getting a Game Over during a normal battle just to listen to this theme. One of my favorite tracks next to "Run!", "Limit Break!", and some other tracks.
I'd love to hear a rendition of Desperate Struggle from FF13. Gotta wonder how that'd sound in this style.

Damn, Jack that was awesome. I don't know much about music so take this for what it's worth but I think your mixing skills are incredible. Ever since I found Jon, Jules and you, I've been paying more attention to how things are mixed and I feel like my ear is getting better at catching certain things. Listening to your music is giving me an education!

I actually prefer this over the original, has the right amount of punch a battle theme needs I feel. Love the original as I love the violin in it but always felt the guitar was a little too low, especially for a battle theme. Damn good job man.

Desolatesquidman eh it's a love hate situation I adore the game to be honest but I agree the series had Up's and down's it's not the worst tho once you get use to the change it's actually one of most in depth final fantasy stories that taps in to type 0 a little with etro and all that junk.
