The 36th America's Cup presented by Prada will be contested by the winner of the 2017 America's Cup, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron represented by their team, Emirates Team New Zealand, and the winner of the Prada Cup, the challenger selection series which takes place in January-February in 2021.

horrid sound mixing, are we supposed to select one channel or the other ourselves? amazong racing, great camera direction, graphics etc.
Holy bananas they are kind off just flying along.
The mix of of both onboards AND commentary renders all three incomprehensible.
Even when there's no commentary, you can't even hear the crew's coms over the sound of the hydraulic motor. Awful sound mixing.
Thanks for finally posting race 9. Hoping race 10 isn’t far behind. I think this was the most competitive bout of the series! Great stuff even when you know the outcome.
a shame the audio of the replay is so bad. Commentary hardly audiable over the noise from the boats.
Never gets old.
Three or four people talking at once coupled with annoying boat noises renders the audio useless.

@@mitchand9 yeah but great competitors make for great competition...JS was a worthy challenger and it's no shame on him regarding the result. Spithill is a yachting legend and I say that as a Kiwi

Congrats to both teams for their effort.
I wish the commentators would zip it and let us hear the commentary on the boats. The commentators have ruined the races when they've talked over the skippers and crew, its not like they added anything to the race except noise.
Best race of the Series! Going forward as challengers and defender perfect the format even further, we're going to see even more races like Race 9 in the next AC! Can't wait!

One or the other, but not both at the same time, lol.
The live broadcast had the audio emphasis the other way round; it was not really possible to hear the crews. I think this is done deliberately and the boosted crew audio is a valuable difference to the original broadcast.
because they are not from NZ and like the sound of their own voice

The other fella should listen to Jimmy Spithill, Jimmy wanted to protect the right after the 2nd last crossing, but the other fella didn’t agree, and that’s how they lost the race which they should’ve won🙉

Great race but a cacophony of sound. I can't follow any of the announcers or crew.
the New Zealand commentary and sound was way better , they explained everything and were fair on their calls ,not like this lot , But they did throw in a NZ motor sport commentator in to help , And that didn't work

They did not show the critical action. They were showing closeup of on board action. You can hear it about to happen in Spithill’s voice.
What's the low buzzing noise the boat makes?
We don't need the 'on-boat' noises, half the time they are speaking another language and you can't hear the announcer. If the producers wanted to do one thing to retain audience, it would be to fix this nopise!

Hydrolics controls for the sails, and even burling hates that noise it makes it hard for them on the boat as well.

Though I was going for Te Rehutai ETNZ, who's the guy on Luna Rossa unsure of wtf to do @ 8:10-8:13 ? Lol.
Whoever gets to the circle first has right of way. Had ETNZ gone for the left mark, they would have likely gotten into the circle first and had right of way. He was trying to work out what ETNZ was doing.

Bring back huge boats with spinnakers!
They will be back someday. I'd also like to see boats with outrigger canoes, which predate them.
We don't need to hear all the 'on-board' noises, just cut them out of the feed please. It shouldmn't be hard to do, that way we could hear the announcers.

How about giving the viewer an option to listen to one or the other?

WORST COVERAGE EVER. Great race let down by bad camera work and incredibly bad sound engineering.
Nonsense, the coverage was amazing and hugely entertaining. Sound mixing could be improved though.
