MASK & COPS are two of my favorites. They're still just as enjoyable today as they were back then. Adventures Of The Galaxy Rangers & Centurions should've been mentioned, too.
“MASK” easily has the best theme song a kids cartoon ever had. Damn that song was awesome. The cartoon was cool, too. Along with “MASK”, “Visionaries” and “COPS” were bad ass, too. The action figures were really cool and rivaled my favorite action figures, “G. I. Joe”
*Nice list: I certainly was looking for *The Littles, Galaxy High School* & **_Kid Video;_** three of my all time favorites (A bit surprised to see **_Visionaries_** on the list as it is often mentioned on lists of top 80s cartoons, but I guess it’s short series run made it easy to miss). I would add **_Teen Wolf, Wild C.A.T.s_** & *Skeleton Warriors* to the list of mostly forgotten cartoon*
Teen Titans go! Did a Parody episode called turbo Teen Titans go! Where they each got a transformation into a car. They even recreated the opening scene of the intro where he crashes his car into the secret lab and Gets Zapped by the gamma ray
Mom introduced me to Jem and it's amazing! I dressed as Roxy from the Misfits for Halloween a few years ago (as much as I love princesses and fairies, I definitely loved being a punk rocker after years of being a sweet innocent sparkle girl).
So many good ones on there. On Saturday morning, if I kicked in the TV and Camp Candy was on, it was a good day because that was the start of all the cartoons at 6am. The sci-fi stuff was my favorite: Silverhawks, Dino-Riders, Cops, the Alf cartoon on Melmac, Captain N and the Power Team. Denver the Last Dinosaur was addictive with its theme song. I still find myself humming it till this day. Heathcliff too!! One of my favorites that always gets overlooked is Foofur, about a big blue dog and his pack of strays trying to stay out of the pound. Jim Cummins even voiced Foofur…as he did most our childhood…lol
I wished my favourites past Disney animated series like The Gummie Bears, Darkwing Duck, Mighty Ducks,Wuzzles, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, House of Mouse, Kim Possible and American Dragon Jake Long are onto a complete Blu- Ray (with the entire episodes)at last just like they did for Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers. Because past Disney animated series deserved to be released onto Blu-Ray at last more than the Disney films while at the same time honor the memories of the actors/actress who passed away.
There are quite a few other forgotten cartoons that you did not mention from the 80s. Galaxy Rangers, Pole Position, Mighty Orbots, Shirt Tales, Inspector Gadget, Captain Planet, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Pirates of Dark Water, Tiger Sharks,... plus so many others. And I loved The Littles as a kid, especially the gadgets that they made at the end of almost every episode made from real life materials.
MASK was huge back in the day. It's not a forgotten show because there was a massive toy line. Silverhawks was heavily viewed because it came from the Thundercats people. Now, the third cartoon series from the Thundercats people is far more obscure. Do you remember Tiger Sharks? Another obscure 80s cartoon was Meatballs and Spaghetti. I used to watch Beverly Hills Teens only because it was on at 7 am n it started the cartoon line up.
The only one of these that I’d forgotten (or maybe never heard of) was the Beverly Hills Teens one. Everything else I either watched or at least knew about.
It's die no not de no. Hilarious how narrator couldn't pronounce dinosaucers correctly while having theme song pronouncing it correctly. I feel old now. There was only one cartoon I didn't remember seeing back then. The girl and the horse one.
Surprised to not see shows like Centurions, Bravestar, or Saber Riders make the list. Still, watched nearly every show to some extent that did make the list. Btw, Widget was the 90’s. You can tell by its animation style. Came out in 1990 to be exact. Solid list regardless
Im surprised to hear anybody else even mention Tranzor Z. Nobody has ever talked about it online that Ive seen, and nobody seems to remember it when I bring it up. I was wondering if it really existed at all.
I used to run around the yard pretending I was one of the Silverhawks. As for Kidd Video, I forgot about it but once I saw Glitter I remembered the show and that she was probably my first crush.

didn't see the dino-riders cartoon, but did get a couple of the toys, one Pterodactyl, and a two others that came with "traps" (one had rocks, the other, logs that blocked the dino); Bionic Six was on one channel on Sunday, up there with other shows like Sky Commanders, papa bears, and Yogi bear. On Saturdays, I'd end up watching 90 minutes of Smurfs. MASK isn't "forgotten." IDW were making comic books of it just a few years ago. And JEM got a (terrible) live-action movie in 2015. The rest is pretty forgotten (by most; I actually have strong memories of every one of them, except Dinosaucers, which I was aware of but didn't watch).
Anyone remember which Wildfire came first, the cartoon or the song by Michael Martin Murphy? After hearing about the show again, I realized why the thoughts that ran through my head when I heard the song did so
I grew up during the 80's. My favorites was Transformers, GI Joe, Robotech, Voltron, spiderman and his amazing friends, tranzor z, Battle of the planets, thunder cats , in humanoids, thandarr the barbarian. 👍😎
Aw, my childhood. I remember every one of these shows. Why did most of them die out the video keeps asking? Simple, the toys didn't sell because of various reasons, but mostly price. Dino Riders for example. Everyone wanted the T-Rex, which was a 2.5 foot tall motorized toy that cost like $50 (not cheap in the 80s). Parents weren't willing to drop that kind of money for kids toys. MASK (one of my favorites) were like twice the price of GI Joe's, so my parents pushed me over to them and Transformers instead. All great ideas way ahead of their time.
When I was young and dumb I'd drive around with my friends and we would randomly open the doors while driving, pretending we are mask and the car is flying. I felt really silly explaining that to the cop that pulled us over.
So many people claim to have not forgotten it, yet SOOOOOOOOOOOO many people don't seem to know that the show was only on for 2 seasons and the 2nd season was some god awful Cannonball run type race show in a different country. Only the first 64 episodes had the Venom crime of the week format
Now that I'm seeing this, for Silverhawks, they shouldn't have been able to soar in space. It was a great cartoon. I watched it, but I was more of a Thundercats fan.
Cartoon Network should have a 80s day! Showing all from that era!
Some of my lesser known favorites from the 80's not mentioned were Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors, Bravestarr, Heathcliff, & Inspector Gadget.
