@@jaredreese8639 Wow, I went through 3-4 of them since I sold mine in the 90s (needed money for a SNES game) but I'm keeping the one I got now and my small collection of ~35 games
I had a couple Cabbage Patch dolls, my little pony horses, and a pogo ball. I also had a big wheel. When I first got it I couldn't even reach the pedals. I sure miss those times. Kids today have no idea what they missed out on. It was simple things like that made ushappy.
Remember animatronics at the entry of Chuck E Cheese's??? At our location it sang to Elvis' songs. Don't remember what animal/character it looked like.
The only real downsides of the NES are the cartridge slot design, the lack of ability to support sound chip expansions used for the Famicom Disk System and later regular Famicom releases, and that the bottom corners of the NES controller likely will dig into your hands.
I remember as a kiddo in the 80's I took my megatron that was a gun to school. If it was today I would have been shot.I still have my lazer tag, sad that none of my friends had one. 😅
I was born in 1982 and unfortunately I grew up very poor and was abused and neglected by my parents. ://// I missed out on having two loving parents who could provide awesome things to their kids. Its still nice to see these videos though. Sorry if my comment was negative and depressing.... 💖🦄🎈🌷🦋🎉🙏👍
One of my cousins had an NES and when I visited him I could play it but we were allowed to play it for a certain amount of time. I also had a neighbor that had an NES and I think he brought it over one time so we could play it. My first nintendo system I had was an original game boy. I actually still have it in the carrying case that I purchased for it which actually looks like a game boy system, just in a bigger size
Teddy Ruxpin was awesome. Dude brought his to school during the 80's. We jammed metalica and various other bands with his tape deck. It waa funny and we had a blast. Those were good times. Now everything sucks!
12:00 i think this was also sold as an computer game in the Time the Amiga computers were still produced, my uncle has this computer game (the packeging of it).
12:49 That's so ironic about the Speak and Spell in this commercial: The correct spelling of color/colour, because that depends on which country you live in.
If you speak English it's colour. After the American revolution they decided that they shouldn't be like the British anymore and some thought they should even speak French or some other language. It was colour up to that point. Among other words. There is no E in whisky. Pretty petty if you ask me.
This video has several factually inaccurate statements, from the features of these toys to when they were first introduced. This is a very lazily researched video.
The original Game Boy is only Game Boy I’ve ever had because I never wanted another one after the Game Gear came out The only thing I didn’t like about the original Game Boy is the earbuds that came with it That’s also the only pair of earbuds I’ve ever had because I hated them I much prefer headphones that go over my ears
In 1980, I bought my son a Rubik's Cube and a few superhero toys. He was truly happy when he received those gifts
that summed up my whole childhood. Wow. 1980
Had, and still have, my NES. Another toy from the 80's that I lusted after was the Vectrex.
Same - it's still on as we were trying to beat The Boy and his Blob.
Still have mine that I got for Christmas in 1988, and have around 120 games for it.

I miss the toys from both the 80's and 90's
Research People!!!!! THe Big Wheel came out in 1969 and became instantly popular in the 70's!!!!!

Having been made in the late 70s, I grew up through the entirety of the 80s.
I had a lot of these things, some of which I had forgotten about.
I loved micro machines and matchbox cars as a kid
80s kids walked, so that 90s kids could run.
View master is not an 80s thing. I had one 50 years ago.
You know the 80s was almost 50 years Ago lol
@@andrewerickson6690 well I'm getting old. It was in the late 60s early 70s.
My dad had a ViewMaster type toy in the 1950’s.

For the 90s video equivalent, you should throw in the Game Boy Pocket as it was a popular revision of the Game Boy.
I never had laser tag, but my parents did get my brother and I Photon. It felt like such a futuristic toy for the mid-80's!

I grew up in the hood. In middle school, guys came strapped for real back then..
John Moschitta Jr. was on a bunch of commercials for all kinds of products but he’ll always be known as the Micro- Machine guy💯

Hot Wheels were always number one until Micro-Machines came out I had a few Micro-Machines that the headlights actually worked🔥🔥
GameBoy from 1990))
To be fair, it came out on the tail end of the 1980s.
I got in 89.

Voltron was my go to before transformers...and Alf before Teddy
had some micro machines, regular ones, pull back one and some that you push down on the turn the lights on, also had the car wash and hospital.
I’m surprised you left out G.I. Joe which was huge in the 80’s
Rainbow Brite, too.
@@mchenrynickstrawberry shortcake, pound puppies

ATARI, NES AND LAZER TAG HELL YEAHZ
Loved big wheels!! 😊😅 me n my lil brother faught over the only 1 we had
Keep at it, bud. You'll find your audience soon enough.
The Rubick’s Cube made my brain hurt. I never solved mine.
Laser Tag. OG Call of Duty
21:54 The frack was that? That's not the commercial to Skip It. What, you can't do a Google search for the iconic commercial that we know?
There’s a whole RUclips channel dedicated to the Rubiks cube The original Rubiks cube has nothing on the new Rubiks cubes I’ve seen on that channel🤯
Teddy ruxpin was my son when growing up
I wanted the red Jeep Power Wheel so bad I couldn’t stand it but by the time my parents could afford to get me one I was too big for it💀🙄😒

Only the rich kids had power Wheels
the walkman became a distraction just like smartphones are today, people not paying attention to their surroundings.
But why use the nes classic edition for the thumbnail?
😂 good eye!
Rubiks cube came out in 1974
I think you mean the 2010's not "the mid 2000's". That would be around the year 2500. Js.

I agree. And they flub time categorization. It's says the glow worm made a comeback in the mid 2000s but that is 2500. We aren't even there yet. lol
"The thrill of pretend combat", Yikes!

It's weird that the Speak N Spell used British spellings.
I have my speak N spell
