Keaton stressed that they wanted to do practical effects for this movie they didnt wanna do a bunch of CG. They wanted to shoot it as close to the same way they shot the original as possible
I could just see an emotional scene at the end where Lydia goes to grab something in the other room of the house and look over and see Barbra and Adam ( who are digitally deaged or cgi’d into that part) in a body mirror from a distance and then giving a subtle wave to her while a beautiful small melody plays for a moment with a smile from each of them. And then her mom or daughter call her back asking her what’s the hold up. She comes back to bring back an old record to play it on the turn table or cassette player 🤷♂️ and it turns out to be shake senora like in the original. They all start dancing together and then it ends.
You know what's kinda ironic as I look back the original Beetlejuice trailer? I recall that - back then - many critics said that Micheal Keaton wouldn't do a good Batman because of Beetlejuice (which came out about a year before Batman '89), that his acting 'reach' couldn't get to doing Batman. Oh how that one turned out huh? :) Micheal Keaton is just as iconic (and important) to Batman as he was to Beetlejuice, both characters I cannot think of without thinking of Mr. Keaton. He's always been 'My Batman' as much as Mr. Reeves has always been 'My Superman'. And Keaton is also, of course, the only Beetlejuice I can think of. I honestly can't think of a modern actor who might have been able to play Beetlejuice (and it's not like he'd have been asked to do a 'different' Beetlejuice with his own take on it, Beetlejuice cannot be acted "differently", he's a very 'fixed' character in a very specific kind of personality that Keaton gave life to, and cannot be replaced; whereas Batman can be played differently by various actors, in my opinion... even though Keaton is my Batman).
Ah. Well... I attended Juilliard... I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen the TEASER TRAILER ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A MOVIE GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? I think this qualifies. 👍👍👍👍
If you look closely at the funeral scene just above the flowers theres a picture of the father (Jeffrey Jones) so safe to say its his funeral they are at !
Yup you are correct, I had to really stop it at the right time. I figured with Jeffery Jones CP register in real life that is what they were going to do with his character
Guess Jenna said BeetleJuice's name 3 times to resurrect him. Would be interesting if Jenna ends up looking like her Wednesday character. Maybe as an easter egg, Keanu Reeves could be part of the cast being officially married to Winona Ryder as the recently buried member of the family and later being revived by BeetleJuice.
I like the knownledge of Andrew "Flash Gordon" about this kind of stuff. I can't wait to the this movie. I watched so many time in my childhood this movie.
The Winter River, Connecticut model splitting looks just like the splitting of Hawkins, Indiana.😳 Hmmm, Lydia Deetz, Joyce Byers, are we dealing with variants maybe?🤔 Would not that be an awesomely crossover, Beetlejuice vs Vecna.😁
I love when people ask if Alex Baldwin and Geanna Davis will be in this 👀 ummm, everyone does know they were dead in the 1st movie right.... so they wouldn't age ..... so how are they supposed to be in this movie? 🤣
@@andrewgordon7662 I'm very aware. I'm also aware of who is the creatives on this movie, specifically Tim Burton who isn't even using CGI on this entire movie, only practical effects. So the deaging stuff is irrelevant here, it's not happening (not to mention balloons the budget - it helped Indiana Jones out so well). 👀
@@MrTerrific79 I completely agree with you but you asked a question about how would they be in the movie if they aged lol 😂 I’m curious what the reasoning is going to be in the film though because it was stated in the 1st film that they can last up to 125 years in that house
*Member Berries* I was actually joking with a friend before, how bad this trailer is going to be and that they will use the Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) in a slight spooky remix version. But I actually couldn't believe it when I saw it.
Beetlejuice goes Hawaiian was never a Kevin Smith project. It was offered to him, he went with a Superman sequel he wrote and was tossed when Tim Burton opted to use his own script for his ill-fated Nicolas Cage Superman. He told this story in "An Evening with Kevin Smith"
Clearly I'm here because of RR. Probably why I'm just now figuring out your Greg's brother. Holy shit!!!! And you have a channel. Kinda embarrassing i clicked on the video thinking this was a RR video.😂😂😂 mine as well subscribe.
Unless it's specifically marketed as an international trailer I don't think a trailer for a US production can be expected to do day-month format. Also, before giving the exact date the teaser did also say "this fall", so September 6th is the one that makes sense there. It would have said "this summer" if it was supposed to be read as June 9th.
Hey guys..i heard they are using Stop Motion like in the O.G one so thats cool..i get what ur saying, its been so long buy with thr make up and everything u wud not think it 36 yrs. thats insane..such a childhood favourite😱
As much as nostalgia seems nice, sometimes I just have this uneasy feeling about all this stuff. Maybe some projects and characters shouldn't be randomly brought back after 30+ years for a sequel to a complete story.
1:52 I didnt know what he was talking about Jeffrey Jones until I Google Jeffrey Jones and see that he was a registered sex offender I'm pretty sure a lot of people that are like me who didn't know but at the same time most likely don't care, for the sake of the movie and nostalgia Jeffrey Jones and Alec Baldwin should of been in this movie
No, he’s a registered child sex offender. As much as I would have liked the character of Charles Deeds to be in the film it would be a public relations nightmare to have Jeffery Jones in the film
The ONLY thing I'm worried about is the whole Beetlejuice is marri3d thing. I hope its.just one of his schemes and its not another Hollywood ploy to retcon/reboot the lore where instead of the animated series being Lydia and BJ being bestfriends in the neitherworld adventures they retcon/reboot the animated series and make BJ and his new wife into Astrid's adoptive ghost parents like the Maitlands were for Lydia since Lydia has apparently become a "lame adult" and its Astrid and her "father figure" Beetlejuice going 9n misadventures in the neitherworld since from the trailer it looks like Lydia is also a single mother.
When nobody has anymore great ideas and can't write good movies.... bring back the old. This movies an exceptional cause it'll be fun to revisit but someone ANYONE write a good story and implement it. Forget the writers strike. Write it and then bring it to the screen when you can.
Michael Keaton gets to be Batman in Flash after decades and now he’s gets to be Beetlejuice after 36 years

The funeral is definitely for Charles Deetz, if you zoom into the photo on the grave it's a headshot of Charles Deetz.
Yeah... if we are curious why he was killed off... look at his criminal history concerning Peewee Herman... smart move to remove him.
I love that theyre using stop motion in the new one. Tim Burtons stop motion is top tier.

Willem dafoe...corrected

@@walterhundley8908 Supposedly there are two secret cameos and one of them might be Johnny Depp.
In interviews Burton and Keaton agreed that Beetlejuice is better with no CGI and traditional effects only.
Jenna Ortega has that emo pouty face look down thanks to “Wednesday”, so she definitely fits as Lydia’s daughter. 😅
Her name I think will be Astrid
Except she's not white enough to be Lydia's daughter. Unless a Latino impregnated her.
