Let me add that in medieval villages (I live in one too) the slopes on the passageways were built with stones buried sideways that functioned as steps. Hard to describe. The lumpy bumpy way the stones were laid was to ensure good foot grabbing for people and to make the passageways easier for animals to manage, to get them to and from the cantinas (under the volte/archways). It is clear that over the years, Guinadi residents have paved over those ancient steps to make the sloping walkaways which are MUCH easier to traverse.

I lived on a Greek island for 10 years and these buildings, pathways and village sounds has made me homesick. Enjoy your lovely village. You have made the right choice.
Loved the tour! What a magical place. It seems like a very safe place for children, too. How nice to have a restaurant right outside your front door! Enjoy your new home.
Perfecto! Sunset over the village, a spritz with some olives and cold cuts would be as about as relaxing as life gets. Thanks for the tour. Look forward to seeing the town markets.
Lovely to see. Don't think we'll get over this year. My great grandparents were from Guinadi before moving up the mountain to Grondola, where we still have the family home. So nice to see new people moving in. Well done. 👏👏👏
Grondola is a lovely village. Because it's built on a ridge, it is always so much cooler there in the summer that in places below. I live oly about 450 m. altitude in the hills of Comune di Tresana. But in the summer, my borgo is always about 5 to 10 degrees Celsius cooler than in the Magra river valley below. And in the winter, it's more temperate here. Our borgo faces a valley where much food and fruit is grown. It's a microclimate up here and very fertile. I think it would be much colder in Grondola in the winter.
How wonderfully charming the village looks and the atmosphere... the atmosphere.... What can I say... The thunder in yesterday's video made me jealous as we also love dramatic weather... all I can say : how can one not love Italy? 🇮🇹❤️
Hi thanks so much for showing the lovely area in response to requests we really enjoyed it added a real feel for the place we love following the renovations and well done your videos are great thanks. Deb and Michael 👍😀
Hi Denise, that's a very complicated question, but they are all open to all, everyone here really is part of a village and possession or right of way are secondary!
what a lovely village. I can imagine in the past kids running around and men and women chatting in the street. loved the crazy scary little stairs every now and again. a thought about the back cellar if it's big enough you could use it as a garage. even if you don't have a car you could put bikes in it.
Hi Lea, the kids run about all day, as do the rest of the villagers, always with a smile and time for a quick chat. The back cellar opening, under the arch would be perfect for a little car, which I think we will eventually get, as my VW bus is huge! Thanks for the suggestion!
This is absolutely dreamy! So So beautiful! I wish the people that buy this homes stick to the traditional Italian style. The house next to yours doesn’t have that village style that makes this homes so special. It looks like many city places. Anyway... besides that.... the village is magical.... blessings and thanks for this video.
Hi Bibi, the house next door is a catastrophe, but I think it could be saved and made into something useful! The village is a fantastic place, we were so lucky when we found the house!

Southern California has its charm, as I'm sure you know, but I guess there's not so many time capsules out there!

Love it, really captured the character of the village, thanks for the tour, I wonder when the village started to be built there must be loads of history there
Hi Sunny, I am trying to gather as much information as I can about the village and the house for a future vid! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the little tour. So pretty and serene. You seem quite high up in the hills there.
Hi Louise, we're at about 600m, so fairly high I guess, but not for us because we live in the Austrian alps!
I lived on a Greek island for 10 years and these buildings, pathways and village sounds has made me homesick. Enjoy your lovely village. You have made the right choice.
Hi Desire, how could you leave your Greek island? Thanks for watching!
Beautiful and we really appreciated the quiet.
Hi Dot, thank you, it really is a haven of peace!
A gem of a village!
Hi Sonia, I think so too!
Loved the tour! What a magical place. It seems like a very safe place for children, too. How nice to have a restaurant right outside your front door! Enjoy your new home.
Hi Lisa, it's great for the kids, they run wild through the village! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks, that was great. The village is bigger than I thought it would be. Fabulous to have an AED by the church!
Hi Shelagh, the village sprawls a bit, but is still pretty small! The AED is brilliant, and should be compulsory!
Lovely enchanting place!
Hi Annette, It really is!
Perfecto! Sunset over the village, a spritz with some olives and cold cuts would be as about as relaxing as life gets. Thanks for the tour. Look forward to seeing the town markets.
Hi Andrew, you've hit the nail on the head there!
Thank you! That was beautiful. So peaceful and calm with rich history.
Glad you enjoyed it Deanna!
What a lovely place to make a home.
Hi Angela, like a piece of paradise! with better food!
Hello, beautiful lady how are you doing today?....
@@ciaobella8963 it is. Family that live in Pontremoli come up for the summer.
Thanks Amanda, will I see you one day for an aperitivo at the coop?
@@NotUselessYet sounds like a good idea. Well done again. 👍
Long time ago I live in place like that . Happy happy place .🌞🌞🌞
And maybe one day you will again!
Beautiful little village
It really is!
I'm scottish, I live in Liguria, would love to do what you're doing. There are so many stunning places here. Have fun, doing a great job
How wonderfully charming the village looks and the atmosphere... the atmosphere.... What can I say... The thunder in yesterday's video made me jealous as we also love dramatic weather... all I can say : how can one not love Italy? 🇮🇹❤️
Hi Annette, I think that it is impossible to not love Italy!
you need a grocery Thank you for a lovely walk!
Hi Mature, the cooperative sells all the basics, which is useful. Thanks for watching!
Hi thanks so much for showing the lovely area in response to requests we really enjoyed it added a real feel for the place we love following the renovations and well done your videos are great thanks. Deb and Michael 👍😀
Hi Deb and Michael, I am very pleased you enjoyed it, and thank you very much for watching!
Looks a lovely village. But how do you know what cellars and passageways belong to which house or area?
Just loved this video walking tour of your lovely village! It's unimaginable by Southern California people who only see new (*comparing to Italy's structures) so every part of your village was facinating. I spent lots of time yesterday reading the comments from people and they asked all my questions! Haha.. So now I need to read your replies..thank you for answering them! I will be watching and cheering you on during this adventure even if I don't comment on every video. I will be sharing this particular video too..it is charming. Hope it helps to grow your subscribers! Take care and grazie for everything..ciao!
Hi Carolyn, Thank you so much for watching, I have a feeling that there will be a part 2, as I missed so much of the village. It's taken a couple of days to answer all the comments and questions, while I am out here, there I am so busy with building, the kids and aperitivo! Southern California has its charm, as I'm sure you know, but I guess there's not so many time capsules out there!
You are so right about that..NOTHING like Italy in California!! Thanks for sharing and look forward to part 2 on your tour! Ciao
Wow! what a lovely😍😘, amazing place & quiet village 😍❤ thank you for the tour my friend 👍

That was cool to see. So much potential there.
Hi, Glad you liked it, there is enormous potential, as in so many parts of rural europe!
How beautiful! It was a journey through time, very old houses, a lot of tranquility, nobody on the way, a deep silence ... a place to relax and connect with nature. How lucky you are! I saw that he was well accompanied (with his son), great! Thank you for sharing this amazing place!
Hi Fatima, I did run into a few of the locals, but cut them out. But it is tranquil, and very good for the soul. The boy loves it here too! Thanks for watching!
