Great story. Malcolm is one of the key people who has been linking the major eras of this sport for decades. Group 4, Group B, Group A, WRC, modern era. He's always played a vital and relentless role, come victory or defeat.
Rallys without M sports is unimaginable. Please god they get to the top again. Just takes a good car design I sopppse and good driver. Why not give Craig Breen a drive next season he gets points always so give the Irish guy a chance
The content on this channel is fantastic. When will you get the license to cover the WRC events, their own shows and website leave a lot to be desired!
WRC's own coverage is very good overall (especially Julian Porter is amazing at his job), though I certainly miss having Colin Clark reporting from the stages. WRC+ did have a major fail in Turkey though. They put on some new commentator who didn't have the slightest clue what he was talking about and kept trying to make up for it with constant overly excited shouting... Julian Porter had to correct the nonsense the guy was saying on multiple occasions and any stage he was commentating on was harder to watch because of him.
Malcolm Wilson, M-Sport and Ford have been shaping up rally for decades, what a guy! Absolute respect to him and the crew! I just want to see them on top again with Rally1 regulations! (and winning a tarmac rally in Ireland pls)
Great story! Malcom Wilson is my favourite WRC director. He barely won titles, but he always had the passion for rally. And that's what rally is still about. You never leave that original garage/barn spirit totally behind, even when you reach top level. I think you should run DirtFish the same way, if this project is to last.
He was a game changer awesome I have the tamiya escort cosworth Michael pilot and its the Malcolm Wilson one two I definitely miss them days of rally its change a lot over the years 👍👍👍
Two survive in rallying and to create a successful business competing at the top against fully fledged corporations in such an unpredictable sport is unbelievable, nothing but respect to Malcolm. Motorsport is costly no matter what level you are at Rallying more so due to its nature.......
M-Sport is amazing. One thing still has me wondering: why are Ford still reluctant to put their name on the team and promote them to full factory team status? They were Ford World Rally Team for a time. Surely they could achieve even more with proper manufacturer support?
It remain unclear to me, this first building, in front of you were talking, is it still owned by Malcolm or M-Sport or is it sold? It did not look as a part of current facility.

In my opinion Malcolm should be great to Carlos. Otherwise the project would be a disaster. Sainz plans in 1996 were to join Toyota and the negociation was not possible because Toyota had Castrol as sponser and Repsol was Carlos personal sponser so joining Ford was the only viable option for Sainz. M-sport would no get to the point were it is in this days without CS
maximum respect for Malcolm Wilson. amazing figure in the history of rally
*Do you think Malcolm Wilson has been one of the most influential figures in rallying?*
Yes thanks for m-sport and mr.wilson for bringing so much to rallying
Definitly
Absolutely, when Mitsubishi,Subaru etc all left he stuck with it. He literally kept the championship alive!
And Malcolm gave plenty of new drivers their big break. Fair play to him
No doubt
Great story.

He truly is one of the biggest influences on the sport!
Ford should really put some big money in the wrc program because they are getting behind.
They need some things to change with the series so that they see more value to do that.
Next year ford will do it, msport said

Sadly it comes down to money. It will always be like that unless they got a main backer
Craig in the Puma P3!
I never knew M-Sport was that big. Well done,Malcolm!
They are a big deal and have done amazing things in the sport!
man that is a crazy story, incredible
Greatest respect for Malcolm, excellent interview Colin, thanks. 👍👍

Tbh Red Bull Media House does a great job as the promoter of the WRC

I love the Michael pilot livery and still do now 🙂🙂🙂
Two years later, back fighting at the top. Unbelievable
What a guy.
Best Rev Limiter sound, Ford Fiesta WRC :)
Stay strong, stay in wrc
Malcolm really helped Cumbria 👍

Brilliant
Cumbrian legend!

It's still Malcolm's property. In fact a part of it it's a museum with different Ford Rally cars.
Was the Escort WRC entirely engineered by M Sport? Great video btw
*someone who knows nothing about ford Motorsport Boreham then*
