• I bought a vintage Cas...
My old Casita was really vintage, 1984, it was Indeed a Libery Deluxe, my favorite Casita floor plan, except the kitchen was on opposite side. I think your cushions are original. Great way to approach projects. I like how the propane tanks are elevated. Looks great!
Thanks, the tanks are elevated to make a generator box for a generator.
Loved your video. Super clear explanation for us "weekend no skill warriors". Very much appreciate the clarity of the products used. I have a 2021 Casita and loved the fact that you were able to bring back restore 25 years of our little land yatchs.
Thank you and I appreciate your interest Gilbert. I have sold this one after using it for the summer, but have my eye on another fixer upper.
For it's age, a very clean Casita !
Thanks. Allen!!!
Awesome job! I love love love my Casita ❤️
Thanks, Tiny T!! Been wanting one for 15 years!! It's been a lot of fun as a project and camping!
Until you sold it😂. JK😊
@@janitoronfire😂😂 but I loved it every minute of my 4 years ♥️ lol
Very nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
We have a 97 and I so wish we could find a remake of those original decals-I like the character of them!
I would think a good graphics/sign shop could make those for you. Casita does sell come graphics which are close to this style.
Just bought my first rv casita, freedom deluxe; 2007. Love it!
Good choice! I have loved this Casita!
Your passion is infectious. Such a fun project!
Thanks, Chris! It's been a life-long hobby. Appreciate the support.
Awesome video and I wouldn't mind finding me one of these. Compact and efficient!
These are some of the best engineered small travel trailers. and, because of it and the following, they prices reflect that.
Great video. Just bought a 1987 Casita and love it.
Right on!
Nice job. You could probably tape off and paint the fridge vent frame black, too. Don't forget to get those little bug screens for the vents. You can buy round ones that fit under the metal frame and rectangular ones for the other small vent. You don't want wasps and other critters nesting in there.
I'm sure, if you took a picture of the AC controls, you could paint that area white, then paint in what was there or just buy a peel and stick replacement.
Happy travels.
Jon in rural BC, Canada
Great suggestions, Jon! Thanks for your interest!
Ah, I see you came through, as promised, with an update video! Nice work and your dedication to detail is impressive. Also glad that you’re out enjoying the Casita! Best wishes!
Tommy, thanks for your interest!!! Yes, finally got the Casita dialed in! I'll still do an entire buff and gel coat polish and other details. We enjoyed the trip!!
This is great! So much goes much more work goes into it than you'd ever think. Were renovating an 86 Toyota motorhome over on our channel. Almost time to pull our hair out haha Keep it up! Cheers!
Thanks, Joe! I will check it out.
Very nice!
Thanks for the visit
amazing what a good cleaning does
Yes, and doesn't cost a thing.
Checking the hub temp was a good idea. Having the wheel bearings inspected and repacked, and brakes inspected would have been better.
It cleaned up nice. Amazing what a some elbow grease will do.
Correct! This vehicle was put into storage about 15 years ago with new tires and repacked bearings so I felt confident it was ready to go after new tires and wheels. We did a rotation of the brake drums/hubs to listen for any drag, noises or slop. Seemed spot on. I have since pulled everything and it's like new and traveled from SC to Alabama like a champ after that. Thanks for the interest and info!
I don't know how far you want to go with this, they do sell replacement stickers which can do wonders. Also I noticed the thermostat was yellowed, you can make it look new by buying a new one, but only replacing the cover and saving the housing in case the unit goes bad.
Great suggestions! I have been looking at an updated or original style decal set!
Love it! useful . 😊
Thanks! Glad some of the tips will work for you!!! It's been an enjoyable project and a great weekend in it on the waterfront!!
Hope we can get another update soon.
J McNeil. Someone offered to purchase it so I sold it considering winter is coming. I have a line on another project Casita! stay tuned
I'm going to look at a 1993 Freedom Deluxe tomorrow. $6000...
Sounds like a great price!!! Keep us posted
@@classicperformance I purchased it for $5500. Not bad needs some clean-up on the outside clean up on the inside.
What a deal!!!!
Thank you! I'm excited to get it out to Cape Lookout NC. Island beach camping is so much fun!
What paint did you use to spray the sink?
I used an aerosol appliance paint. Worked great!
