On my 7 round draft simulator I mocked both of these guys, I've had 3 now!! But the 30 visits were clues on 2 of them!! Love love love these 2 picks!! Oladapo I thought was going to be gone earlier!! This defense is stacked with ball hawks now, what a draft!!
The Packers waited a long time to make their 2 5th-round draft selections. After their 4th-rounder, Evan Williams, at draft pick #111, the Packers had to sit until the end of the 5th round to make another draft selection. But Brian Gutekunst got tired and moved from 169 to 163, giving up a 6th-rounder (219) in the process to select experienced offensive lineman Jacob Monk, from Duke. Then, with a compensatory selection the Packers received for losing wide receiver Alan Lazard in Free Agency last year, the Packers took safety Kitan Oladapo from Oregon State. When the Packers are drafting, the 4 most important things for them are experience, athleticism, versatility, and upside. So the 163rd draft pick couldn’t have been more brand. Jacob Monk played primarily as center, but he’s truly an All-around lineman. So, experience and versatility are checked. Jacob Monk is also an elite athlete, with a 9.74 RAS, including elite explosion and speed. In terms of upside, it might not be so high and that’s why he waited until the 5th round. But Jacob Monk’s a valuable piece for our Green Bay Packers. Before the 2024 NFL draft, the only interior offensive lineman on the Packers roster were Elgton Jenkins, Josh Meyers, Sean Rhyan, and Royce Newman. 1st-round draft pick Jordan Morgan can play inside too, but Jacob Monk gives our Packers a lot of flexibility to operate. In 2023, according to PFF, Kitan Oladapo had a 91.3 run defense grade, 1st among Power 5 safeties. Kitan Oladapo’s Pro Comparison to NFL’s Networks draft analyst Lance Zierlen is Jaquiski Tartt, who played under Jeff Hafley for the 49ers. The fit for this new Packers defense is obvious. Kitan Oladapo is also a really good athlete with an 8.18 RAS, which includes elite size and good combination of speed and explosion. The Packers trading up twice in rounds 4 and 5, giving up draft picks 190 and 219. After moving these selections, Green Bay was down from 3 to 1 6th-round draft picks (202). Brian Gutekunst also has 2 7th-round draft picks (245 and 255). Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
Having watched Kitan Oladapo play for the past three years, can say with confidence that he will be a good one. Especially good with our second round linebacker. Was keeping my fingers crossed that he would be drafted by the Pack. Our new defensive quality control coordinator was his poistion coach at Oregon State.
Monk might become a wizard on the line in a couple of years. We know he's smart cuz he went to Duke. He'll add some guard/center depth. Oladapo is a physical safety prospect. At roughly 215, he's heavy and has surprisingly good speed and good coverage skills. The Pack have put a strong emphasis in this draft on defensive players that are tough tacklers. This new Hafley D is going to be significantly different than last year's D.
I think it was more the linebackers besides walker that were the issue Clark Wyatt slayton I like the rookies they drafted last year late round they actually played well when coming in they got Preston smith Gary and van ness too 😊
@@7even15iveboizontop9 your rite ! But Clark and Preston are getting up there in age even though Clark killed it last year Preston to I don't think he's re signed yet they got 4/5 OL that was the strongest part of the team last year . And picked up 1 from Tennessee in FA.
The draft sucked I feel that the packers could have done better use with the picks like for an example we could have traded a first round and a second round pick and probably got a good wide receiver like a Brandon Aiyuk or a wide receiver like Deebo Samuel or we could have traded 4 top picks to get both guys or we could have got a good wide receiver like a Tee Higgins or we could have got a Free Safety like Justin Simmons or a Eddie Jackson or we could have got a strong Safety like a Jamal Adams or we could got Micah Hyde to bring him back to Greenbay or we could have got a another shut down cornerback like a J.C. Jackson or we could have got a Outside Linebacker like Bud Dupree or we could have got a good Defensive Tackle like Fletcher Cox or Hassan Ridgeway or we could have went Defensive End and got a guy like Yannick Ngakoue or a guy like Calais Campbell or a guy like Justin Houston or we could have signed Ezekiel Elliott instead of drafting a running back i mean the packers had options but I guess will never know damn
Nice run-on sentence. There’s a reason you aren’t the Packers GM. Almost every time fans whine about these picks, they end up being good picks and the players frequently become integral to the team’s success.
@@zacka2887The truth is that if you look at the success rate of Gutekunst’s picks in recent drafts, it’s very high. The facts show that he often makes the right decision when drafting players (even if fans are initially upset with the choices). Chalking it up to “being a hater” is vapid and devoid of any actual arguments.

I like the fact that the Packers are getting defensive guys that are good tacklers!
Oladapo is a baller and Monk a great pick. Guty looken good, hopefully they get it on the field

I like the pick from Texas A&M. He looks solid from his highlights.
Gopackgo
Making the right moves.
It was amazing here in Detroit one more round left
Oladapogopackgo!
How was monk there this late??? His ras alone should put him in the first 3 rds.
Bro, how many safeties are on the roster now?? 😂
8....for now
@@kunutc4331it’s 5
1 of them has to work out maybe 😂@kunutc4331

undrafted fa about to go nuts
tackle beasts. DC Havley can choose of them.
Im surprised no DL at all for the packers weakest part of the team being run defense im surprised ! Hopefully under hafley things change

I think Bullard will be the nickel corner
In terms of draft position selected and play style, Oladapo is basically the Walmart brand version of Darnell Savage.
Just because we have bodies doesn’t mean we have depth.
What? Good thing you’re not GM. I think Gute is getting it covered.
I dont understand, why they have to trade up for an unknown Center!??! 🤬😡
I mocked both players in almost every draft I had. Love these picks
Do your research on the player then.
lol unknown to you
Because you don’t understand the Packers
lol unknown? He’s known to Green Bay and that’s all that matters, are you new here? Lol

why would the Packers get a receiver when they have a good cheap receiving corps. just sounds like an amateur move.
The Gute and staff have had a great draft cool 😎 Congrats on 32k Subs
Thank you!
