In this video I try my hand at a monochromatic color scheme for a new and pretty grim dark gang for SWILL. The to be released skirmish variant of Turnip28. But of course it would also be a great quick paint job for Space Marines or other Warhammer armies.

Thank you! Yeah, that is rule number one. Create what you want to see.
Two colors seems like a good minimum, as the mini can still achieve contrast within itself. So each mini feels more finished, as if it carries its own narrative.
When I've seen those one-color efforts, they are still getting their contrast out of the environment. So they will always be a bit like fish out of water, unless in a perfectly contrasted, carefully curated situation.
For sure, they don't have contrast in themselves. I think at least the base should be something the mini stands out against to make it work.
Very cool build. I love how turnip stuff inspires people to really go outside the box . Also, the monochrome theme of red with black weapons remind me of game SUPERHOT (its the most innovative shooter I've played in years )

What a great result for the monochrome paint job. It's really striking. You took it a different direction than I was expecting and it definitely paid off. Also, I'm with you in the walking tank idea. I've designed a couple. One that's sort if a steam spider and one that's scorpion like. And of course, a crab could be converted to a tank/stump gun for dual use in Turnip28 and Swill.

Such great work, Ben! I really love this - great conversions and the graphic nature of red and black is always a pleasure. One of my favorite combos. The terrain is a awesome nightmare-landscape of ash and death. Looks like a Wayne Barlowe painting in 3D. I want to try this now!

Absolutely adore the little "head tilt" you did with the tanks turret. Adds a whole load more character than if you'd just stuck it on straight. Super smart!

Thanks! I think 1:56 (28mm) works best since we mostly use Perry and Warlord Miniatures for Swill gangers and soldiers.
