I was at a loss thinking "how the heck am I going to explain WoW lore to her?it's so much" then I remembered, 'duh, this isn't my problem, let Nobbel deal with it' she loves your videos and says you have a great narrator voice. @chansey Having the benefit of knowing how the game plays already myself, I would watch the lore if you find it interesting. The current state of WoW has you leveling incredibly fast. The amount of lore you'll experience while leveling naturally is drops in a bucket that could fill a pool before the game literally forces you into current content ie Dragonflight. If you are making a fresh account, 0% of played, it's going to start your new characters off in what is Battle for Azeroth content. Once you reach I believe lvl 60 an NPC named Chromie will allow you timewalk on new characters. Timewalking makes the expansion of your choosing match your characters lvl so you can experience which ever one you want while lvling up before hitting 60. At 60 it forces you into Dragonflight. I don't know 100% if this still works but you used to be able to do the class trial function which essentially let's you test drive a character at lvl 60. And doing this would trigger the system to think you reached lvl 60 on a character and allow you use chromie time to pick which expansion you want to play regardless of being brand new!

Anyway, I no longer have ANYONE who plays thos around me. My new account still has no B.net friends or any friends at all. The game has become so much less social. It's so sad tbh

As a person that has gotten into WoW in the last few months I can say that if you intention is to go into the game and immerse yourself in the story from the beginning, then as of now, you've already failed. This was a blast to watch. I literally have played Warcraft since the very first RTS (Warcraft: Orcs & Humans) and still play WoW today. I remember some of those ancient story lines!
Ive played every single warcraft game and thought I knew it all. You definitely schooled me a bit. I love warcrafts lore and characters. Arthas, Thrall, Illidan, Sylvannas, Varian, Uther, Bloodhoof and Saurfang...so many great stories and i barely scratched the surface.
For some reason in my mind‘s eye when I listen to him talk I picture him smiling like Zapp Brannigan and posing occasionally in heroic ways. It just adds to the majesty of the video. Great work!
@Clent Burkins doesn't matter how mich lore there is, what matters is how good the story can be. And GoT still had a lot of mystery to it's lore unlike WoW.
OWL are you high? Wow lore is 10x better than GoT lore. The main lore of GoT is essentially just the human lore of eastern kingdoms. Wow has much more and in a deeper detail than GoT. Not even a close comparison

You know, I've been playing WoW for years, tho, now that I'm an adult (19) I've really started to get into the story side of things instead of just the random quests I pick up. So, I started playing Dragonflight, but I was seriously lost on what the hell they were talking about at times. Now that I've watched this video, I can genuinely say, other than Shadowlands (which I've paused Dragonflight to play) I am 100% up to date. Thanks so much. On top of all that, it's this intrinsic lore and history, as much as the gameplay, that is the reason that World of Warcraft has been able to reign as the #1 MMORPG for almost 20 years now. I love this game, and I'm always happy when new players join our widespread, but happy, community. Keep up the good work Nobbel.

I actually intended to listen to it as an audio book while working or while gaming, but my English is so bad that I can hardly keep up. I even have to reduce the speed to 0.85 so that I can follow everything perfectly

Since Warlords of Draenor opened up the possibility to visit alternate timelines, maybe we'll be able to see both a corrupted Azeroth, and a pure Azeroth.
Go and play the Dark SIDERS Series. He plays one if the four main characters, the horseman of the apocalypse. He plays "The Horseman: War:. I love seeing his roles all being so good. Plus I feel illidan is never gone, because both characters are powerful, other worldly, badasses that slay demons hahaha

i only recently-ish have had an on-again off-again play cycle with WoW, and am a major lore-buff. i've been struggling with perusing the wiki and other sources to accurately piece together the absolutely massive amount of lore into a comprehensible format, so this playlist is a godsend.

Well now it makes sense....Jailer whispering to Vol jin in his ear before his death to make Sylvannas warchief so she can do his will. And the funny thing is she did evil things with the goal of herself grasping freedom, while also being a sclave to the jailer XD the irony, right?

I just started playing WoW because of WoW classic and even bought retail because of it. So this was a great catcher-upper! But man, I sorta get now why the internet went insane about how brutal Sylvanas was. But from what I gather, she's still playing her character right. Her only "Side" is truly hers. Not the Hordes, HERS. I can't wait to see how everything unfolds.

Thank god people have made these kind of videos. I recently started playing WoW MOP with a couple friends and had never touched the franchise before. But now I'm kind've in love with the world and want to learn more about it.

I just restarted WoW after a 5 year break. I really wish you'd make a 3.0 version, this was a great refresher.

Love how Nobbel can fully explain everything and it's all in depth, then there's just why sylvanas the evil is warchief and he's just "i unno, no one knows, loa I guess"
Well now it makes sense....Jailer whispering to Vol jin in his ear before his death to make Sylvannas warchief so she can do his will. And the funny thing is she did evil things with the goal of herself grasping freedom, while also being a sclave to the jailer XD the irony, right?

I just started playing WoW because of WoW classic and even bought retail because of it. So this was a great catcher-upper!
But man, I sorta get now why the internet went insane about how brutal Sylvanas was. But from what I gather, she's still playing her character right. Her only "Side" is truly hers. Not the Hordes, HERS. I can't wait to see how everything unfolds.
IV read all 3 WOW Chronicles twice, and still find myself coming back to watch Nobel Lore videos.
