You know what's interesting? All the Big MT scientists have names that refer to infinite loops and repetition.
0 and 8 are obvious, being shapes that loop back around onto themselves.
Borous refers to an Oroborous, the snake eating its own tail.
Mobius and Klein both refer to geometric objects that loop back onto themselves, the Mobius Strip and the Klein Bottle
Finally, Dala refers to the Maladana, a circular pattern used in Hinduism. Its name in Sanskrit literally means "circle."
Mister Bubbles I have a feeling due to their intelligence they constantly keep themselves in a circle of events due to being constantly being logical.
Ironical Mobius does everything in his migth to trap the rest of the scientists in a infinit loop.
That would explain why Dr. Borus said he was pushing the memory of Gabe the dog "into the loop" in order to forget the memory at 01:19:50.
i'm pretty sure you mean 'mandala'. but yeah, you're right, it is interesting.
Oroborous is Jörmungandr, right? Jörmungandr is the great serpent, killing Thor and ending the world
I forgot this entire DLC was just one giant sex joke. Daddy's finally home.
@xBirds you took his 3 year old joke way too seriously, nerd
Its actually a wizard of Oz joke
@@EveryoneElseIsWeirdImNormal I’ve never seen that movie

I DO SO LOVE CUSTARD OR WAS IT MUSTARD?
We'll remove your brain
Both are yucky.
The Good Day “it’s we removed your brain.” Get your act together, your making us look like a collection of round-earthers.
Do you comprehend, commie-animal?
I spared mobios i live in big mt now
I can't blame Dala for liking Teddy Bears. Teddy Bears are nice. The mirrors are what worry me. Also her voice actor had way to much fun. "Burble burble bloop wooooOOOOO".
All the voice actors for this DLC sounded like they had FAR too much fun doing their lines.
@@Rokabur who wouldnt have a LOT of fun with these lines
_"Greetings, Citizen! Ready to receive seditious materials!"_
@@Rokabur is it just me or dose Kline and Boros sound like Brain from Pinky and the Brain?
I think the 'wooden runway' on the floor with the mirrors and the teddybear audience is reminiscent of some catwalk for fashion
Oh my GOD, I didn't even notice Doctor Dala winking at you when she gives you a tip when I played this DLC. Well done Obsidian, attention to the little details, even if it's a brain floating around in a jar.
Darkmage1293 Ohh my God, I saw it. I suddenly feel very cringed out.
Time stamp?
Dear good lord of us what a magnificent discovery I am astonished wow
@@memelorddeegan673 Watch from 20:42 onwards. You can't miss it.
I mean, honestly, every game I have ever played by anybody has always had little details like that. Most developers have very passionate teams. Bethesda and Obsidian both do for the fallout franchise. Think about the Dragon Age franchise as well, those games fit together like puzzle pieces. The teams work hard.
I really like Dala. She's an obvious stereotype of a kinky, lonely female scientist that is untraditionally attractive but instead of being a loser she more syrebral and restrained. She seems like she keeps more things hidden than shown.
Even kinkier than you think. Remember that picture of all the scientists? I'm pretty sure that means Dala is actually a man...well, _was_ a man, back when he/she had a body. :-P
aussiebloke609 Or she's untraditionally attractive....like a tomboy.....like that's still a thing right?
aussiebloke609 Yeah just checked, it's a woman. Sorry :p
Bugger - I must have missed that. Thanks. I looked back but couldn't find that shot of the picture again, so I was going by (faulty) memory. My bad. :-P
aussiebloke609 I know what pic you're talking about but in it she either looks like a really feminine man or boyish woman. She's definitely Asian by the looks of it. But she's confirmed to be a woman :/
“Who puts a bar counter as a major set piece in their living room?” Guilty as charged! I have one in my living room. I like to mix sweet iced tea with some scotch and lemonade. Plus I have some soft drinks for the kids.
Rock Marcus Nice
Oh, since you like making drinks, might I suggest the channel Cocktail Chemistry (ruclips.net/channel/UC-o0CfpOyFJOfyWKtqS1hZQ)? It has nice tutorials on howto cocktail, even soft ones :)
I have one in my kitchen its really convenient to eat on
I suppose you put the milk in first too.
Shame shame
Sweet iced tea with scotch and lemonade? Sounds amazing. I'll have to remember that one.

WoooooOOOOOOooooooooOOOOOOOOO
My top 5 favorite characters from OWB would have to be:
1. Dr. Dala
2. Muggy
3. The Toaster
4. Your Brain
5. Dr. Mobius
This DLC is full of fun personalities to meet.
Shade the Wolf what about stripe???
ZACCYB0Y 2006: I see Stripe as an enemy. He attacks on sight, and not much lore tied to him.
Muggy and the demon toaster
Shade the Wolf Ahh yes the talking sexbot.
GOOO MY ROBOSCORPIONS, STIIING THEM IN THE NAME OF AAAALL THAT IS MOOOBIOUS!
Dr mobius's house is full of nuka cola and mentats.... a reference to diet coke and mentos?
I think so, but then again, considering his house has 2 beds and an playground, he might had had an kid. Maybe the kid had an nuka cola addiction.
The reason why there are mentats everywhere in his house is because in the game it says that dr mobius was addicted to mentats but I really don't know why the nuka cola is there tho.
Not likely, mentats are ‘enhancement’ drugs and mentos are sweets.
Let Mentats freshen up your life.
@@kwbelle I think the Nuka cola is there for the caffeine.
I’ve always felt like Borous stood out the most among the scientists, even for just a moment. He’s the only one that “breaks character” in a way, dropping his dramatic personality when confronted with the nightmare his science produced with Gabe. Not only that, but referring to the Big Mt on such a big picture scale, the loop, and acknowledging that they’ve all forgotten something important just seems to be an odd moment of clarity not seen until the finale of the DLC. Some good foreshadowing and contrast imo
The moment where he just goes silent for a bit is one of the best scripted moments in the DLC for me. You can almost envision it in your head, him looking down at the bowl, his expression sinking as tears roll down into the wrinkles on his face. A bit of 'theatre of the mind' but it's such a good moment I 100% agree that he's one of the best written if only for that interaction.
... listening to Dr Dala is... i need a shower now, all her lines feel dirty...
PancorRath me too
PancorRath how about having a shower with her
Ikr lol
I need brain bleach! D-x
I would, but I hear too much....bloop....really clogs drains.
"Here we test and test and test some more...in the name of science!" Say Dr. K, you wouldn't happen to know the name GLaDOS do you? Ring a bell?
BadBoyBeta we do what we must, because we CAN!
Chell is a lobotomite confirmed?
The most ambitious crossover in gaming
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS!
Dr klein is cave johnson confirmed
I wonder what dr dalas stance on synths would be. Would she want her memories transfered to a synth body like curie if she had the chance, seeing as that would be a pretty convienient way of getting a new body again
ParadoX505 interesting thought
ParadoX505 well she still has her brain. She could transfer her brain.
The brains do call Big MT. the greatest research center known to man, and them. They don't know about the institute obviously.
feliixx it's a what if question.
feliixx the big MT has way better tech than the institute. The institute has synths, that's literally it. Even then, roboscorpions are way more useful considering they can construct themselves out of scrap. Big Mt surpasses them in every other way.
So, there is a playground next to Mobius' House...
There's an extra bed inside his house...
Did Mobius have a... kid?
HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THESE‽
Spyglass lol
His child was Test Subject 1. That’s my two cents
Given that the movie character he's a reference to did in fact have a daughter, I'd say you're right.
Would explain why he was the one to break due to his conscience, he understood emotional connection better than the rest of em.
This is easily my favorite DLC for New Vegas
MrHuntHunt same.
wooowhoooooowhooooo!
"This is easily my facorite DLC" and you could have stopped after that. This DLC far outshines all other fallout DLC I've played through.
ripper i i hate the dead money because you cant fast travel also i got the end game glitch where the elevator glitches and you dont get the ending little show
Mine's probably Honest Hears
"oh my god, please don't fuck the cram."
What do you think the toaster and scientist gloves are for.
I feel really sorry for dr. Dala, you can tell she liked it seeing herself in the mirror, looking nice, and trying on beautiful clothes. And her mirror room is destroyed; it's probably because she couldn't stand seeing what she's become and misses who she used to be.
I think mostly because dr.Dala is a man who feels like a woman... hence on the picture are 6 scientist men and in her house a suit, because it was a male body" but sexy underwear to feel " femenine"
Marsupilami So women with short hair are men? Also clothing in game immediately swaps to a certain gender when in world space.
But suits are generally male atire. If she would be a female to begin with, she wouldn't need a suit... and sexy underwear belongs more to the female section than the male one... and if it was originally a woman, then why does Dala refer herself as a she and not a "he" I mean it would make sense since being in a new body, Dala can finally feel like she did her entire life.
Marsupilami does dala refer to themselves as he?
No... Dala refers to them as a she.
Let me see if I got this right this one dumb scientist created two of the most hated creatures on the God damn Mojave Wasteland that's killed me over a million times somebody give me my Mysterious Magnum
Yep
and they did it just for giggle and shit

Old World Blues is my favorite DLC and I love it for it's old-fashioned cheesy science movie homage and the hilarious cast, perks, and the lore!!
Too creepy for me
I like it because of how off-kilter it feels. Off-kilter, yet in sync....with the atmosphere of the game. I especially love how the whole plot revolves around "brain, heat and courage...a spine." "The Wizard of OZ" is my favorite film and this has references all over it!
I just love the hightech scenario etc, if the courier takes over house's 1000 securitron army and upgrade them with saturnite armor to make them more effective in field and take over roboscorpion army and giant roboscorpion he would be a force to be reckoned with, and utilize Big Mt technology resources to build a big hightech aesthetic futuristic city out of it and use the sink to help manage it , and use intelligent A.I. crop one and use it to have a big farming area in big mountain and hook him up to crop system he could grow crops for us and food would be free and drinks too in my society and build apartment buildings etc to house citizens etc and use facilities to mass produce and research etc , Big Mt would be a great place to live and thrive , build a school, theater and parks etc and would like a institute aesthetic city and would have a good economy sinse we can make things etc and make a currency made from saturnite metal sinse there's plenty and it has value of its own and we can use the teleportation device to teleport anywhere we want and teleport army units anywhere in Mojave to defend against legion, NCR, raiders etc and the courier would use think tank as his HQ/house and wear the mark 2 stealth suit as his official clothing and make aesthetic looking clothes for civilians etc and the courier would be commander/Chancellor of big Mt lol 😎
Wow that "courier" word flashback was really, really awesome touch
Ha! But Oxhorn, you will never stop my army of Robo-Scorpions! You don’t even know what you’re going against! Mwah ahah! Oh- Mentats!

A field scribe would be sent to recover the technical documents. However after 6 months nobody ever found that scribe. Or DR. Daala for that matter.
Oh no! The Think Tank has offended Oxhorn's family-friendly sensibilities! He's already plotting his revenge! XD
Also, pretty sure there's no innuendo with the magazines. If you're a male, you get La Fantoma because it features a female protagonist, and you get Tales of Chivalry as a woman because it has a male protagonist.
I mean, the guy is gonna get off to the girl and the girls gonna get off to the guy...
Well that's gotta piss off Anita sarkesian.
You just explained the innuendo... (kind of late to your comment tho lol)

Yes eight ads in this video... not in a bad way.
I like watching ads for Some RUclipsr’s especially Oxhorn (and a few others) for the work and time they put in their content.
Trying to support in anyway is always good! 😋
I know right? I usually squeeze the daily episode in before work but shoot might have to finish on lunch now!
Umm dr. Dala makes me feel, um, weird emotions..

Now I really appreciate hearing another literary reference, at 59:20 , "communist animals", a reference to George Orwell's 1945 book, "Animal Farm".
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Farm
Animalism at its finest
Paul Belanger MAN I love that book!
Wtf... read this comment at the exact moment it occurred in the video... lol
Long live animal farm
I feel so dirty after watching that conversation with Dala that I feel like I need to go repent for my sins.
She is extremely cringey.
Oh Oxhorn, never change. The voice acting and ‘inputs’ Oxhorn adds are great (and funny).
24:26 This flashback scene is so well done and I can't imagine how you pulled all of those scenes right in. It was so profound because I remember my response being the exact same... "Wait what you saw another courier" and my mind played back the other instances. Only your version was better. Absolutely spectacular Ox, I love the Lore, but these brilliant diamonds that you insert so often, truly elevate your storytelling craft to mastery.
New shirt "some call me the courier" with a picture of an NCR veteran ranger
Oscar Gimblett good idea.
What about a Legion shirt?
There is a Legion shirt.
Enclave shirt. For Navarro.
Robo Brain Scientist still awkward nerds. Even after 200 years in the future.
To be honest, I'm really exited for us to meet Stealth Suit.
She's my favorite character in the game.
Issun McGoodmage she's also the most annoying
Stealth Suitfu.
Dr. Zero is Dr. Venture... I'd know that voice anywhere
barrett wells Hes actually Dr. O (Oh)
barrett wells Yes, and Dr Klein is Captain Qwark from the Ratchet and Clank series. They are both awesome here.
There are several wild wasteland Venture Bros references in Old World Blues
And Dr. Mobius is also the blood elf male from World of Warcraft. Not a huge surprise, a solid voice actor can get tons of work.
I love all of those voice actors
But seriously Probably played it too much or loved that game too much
But Zero Makes me reminds of Wheatly For his umm
"Specialties"
My theory to why zero hates house is because he is house's half-brother and in the video about the hh tool company oxhorn said he's either dead in the mojave or a goul because there is no trace of him exept the traps. I don't know if this theory is right but i want to see what you people think and tell why you think that.
Thats a great theory, House isnt some super genius, hes a rich man who used his money in a long term scheme which you either become a tool of or end it by murdering him (preferably a golf club). So it would be likely Zero was ignored by house and became a scientist instead.
Damn, Dala...You thirsty..
Shawnee Longbow She so thirsty a person stranded in the dessert would hand her some water
My little bear of teddyness is the cutest thing I have heard in a long time.
Loved the flashback when dala mentioned the other courier, gets me pretty hyped for the Lonesome Road series
"they just keep on coming" Goodnight everybody!
I love how in house 101 there is only a place set for two, which could be seen as a small hint back to Fallout 3,living in Vault 101 with just your dad and them being the only two eating at the dinner table
Your intros for these series' are always fantastic, but that flashback scene... Top notch! You're getting better and better as the days go on.
Arbiter
I am just disappointed he never did an intro for Dead Money, as that was the first DLC he ever went over, and that was before he did the unique intros, sad, he could’ve used Begin Again during it...
Loved how all the dlc is cohesive with eachother, and that veronica in the main game, is a good starting point.
I greatly enjoy how all the DLC's are connected. It really hones in that cohesiveness to the universe.
That reference to Dr Mobius's eye made me wonder if that was a sly reference to The "Lord of the Rings" or even Edgar Allan Poe's story "The Telltale Heart"
"reflective posterior" = "shiny metal ass"
Futurama references all over the dlc
Wait a minute, after rewatching this video a few years later and after playing the game multiple times, do you think Betsy Bright, dr. Borous' bully, is related to Jason Bright, the "pope" of the ghouls?
Huh, that’s a neat theory. I wonder if Jason ever mentions any Pre-War family members
Note: The "Opera Singer" frequency is useful against cyberdogs.
Absolutely loved it....as usual...
The few skeletons in higgs village might be the old "partners" of a few scientists.... since a few houses have more beds than just for the 6 scientists....
And mannnnn those flashbacks with the Dala conversation..... absolutely awesome...
I remember my first ever playthrough of NV. I had the edition that come with all the DLC. I messed up the perk system because I was itching to play so my stats were up and down, shortly after I started playing I stumbled upon the downed satellite for the OWB DLC at level 3 at most. I clicked on it and ignored the warning saying not to go in if you weren't etc level. (15?) I quickly realised I had made the worst decision ever. I went in with next to nothing literally. Many, many, *many* deaths later I emerged with my new trusty half robot dog, my new self, a ton of loot I never used and shit ton of levels lol. You wouldn't believe the *relief* that fell over me when I got out! Even with how much I struggled in the DLC and how it almost made me hate NV as a whole, it was one of my favourites looking back at it. I'm still never going back in their tho!
Muggy is my spirit robot.
Dr. Zero was my favorite character from all of new Vegas, I wish we could get his glasses scrubs and gloves.
And he’s voiced by the same guy as Doctor Venture! Both have the same narcissistic/self loathing personalities.
Dr. Kline sounds like a TV announcer
ThunderGunner42 I think that's the joke

Funny how our silent protagonist becomes a voice for Dr.8
And also i love the fact that Dr.0

I guess his profession is voicing old nerd type people
"who puts a bar in their living room as the main set piece?"
people who can afford a nice living room. Hell, and large living room/den has a bar in it.
... wait....
The suits on the things in the villa... Those are trauma nullification suits. Those things are still moving, because the suits keep them alive, no matter what. Whoa...
That was my take. The suits nullify the effects of injury to the body...including death...but don't actually heal the wearer, so they keep moving around , even if they die in the suits.
no
both entirely different suites
the Hazmat Suits are in Big Mountain too, and they are definitely not the same as the trauma suits.
maybe same technology, iirc the red fog also invented by scientist in BIG MT
I always crack up when Dale “scans you”.
"Bingo bango bongo" ... nice cross reference! :D XD
45:11 I don't know why, but of all of the AI responses I have ever gotten out the franchise, this one had me laughing the hardest.
Same the way he says what is so fucking funny
22:34 bear of teddyness. One of my favorite lines. And I think Dala's Wooo's are funny. And the line at 47:17 is hilarious 😂!!
Mobius is one of the most tragic and selfless heroes in the entire setting
I like how all the dlc is like its own main questline
Your daily videos make my day.
Idraksson same
The Robert House comment on the jars of bodily fluids refers to Howard Hughes who kept his urine in jars during his final decline.
Just wanna say Ox, I think the different magazines 8 gives you are "fap material" and not to improve your performance or get away with the act. La Fantoma is a sexy thief, tales of chivalry is about muscle men doing muscle men things. Just my two cents.
It’s likely all of the above.
Do double-entendres not exist where you're from? That is exactly what Ox was implying. Have you missed all the "winks" and "coughs" he was doing, and his obvious tone that suggests "getting away with the act **wink-wink** " and "improving performance with melee **cough-cough** weapons" are clear innuendos? Obviously these are references to pornographic/sexual material in these magazines, as well as the skills these magazines improve (hence the name double-entendre).

“Like they were cheese...paper” is my favorite line of Fallout dialogue ever
Mobius!!!!!!
jamjar 420 it's MOBIUS!!!!
Just imagine the voice actors recording the dialogue for this DLC.

Love that it's just Dr. Venture as one of the scientists.
Is big empty reference to area 51?
Dude, that courier flashback you did was spectacular. The New Vegas DLCs we're always my favorite, and you are setting up the finale magnificently. Can't wait to see!
Mobius had 2 beds and there is a playground right outside his house. Maybe he had a kid?
57:57 the spoons are binary code for the number 8, I never caught that before
I came across a rather disturbing scene called "Improvised Graveyard" I would like if you could look in to the lore about it, I dont know if you already did a video on it, I haven't seen any video on this anywhere nor on your channel.
It's from a mod you have installed called "Crowded Commonwealth"
oh didn't know that well thanks for the fast answer!
When talking to Dr. Dala, you sounded likw you were about to cry. Buddy I am so sorry.
I'm 95% certain the other Courier was Ulysses
Lol. What. Duh?!
Well there is a location (a camp actually) named after him in the dlc.....
It's obvious it's him lol
CardSearcher911 erm, his symbols are pretty much everywhere lol
Tru, Christine and Elijah also is put in the DLC all evidence is the burned house and watchtower in little Yangtze
I forgot how insane and yet how awesome this DLC actually was. It's been awhile since I watched the series but I just had a craving for Oxhorn insight and humor and this came to mind I am so glad I came back to watch through it again 😂
Oxhorn asmr is the greatest thing ever
Ox keeps getting harassed by robots, first by the biological research station and now by Dr. Dala
Why are there so many sex jokes and naughty things speakend on this DLC?
I think this is why People love this game more
It dosent care what it talks about and dosent afraid to show it
lmao
"Emotion? There is no Emotion in Science" suddenly hearing Tom Hanks "There is no crying in Baseball"
i forgot how hilarious this DLC is, easily one of the best DLC for any game.
