    Ive got a 2002 F150 supercrew four door lariat with 183,000 miles and the 4.6 V8 is perfect. Came new with the supreme wheels chrome. Just installed new 265 70r 17 tires on it. Replaced the leather seat bottoms last month. Im keeping it for life. Its better than any of the new trucks today

    I have a sweet spot for 10th gen f150's, picked up an 03 lariat supercab a couple months ago with 86k on the clock. Plan to keep it a long time, truck runs and looks like it just came off the assembly line.

      @@98saleen how did you go about mounting it

    • @98saleen
      @98saleen  Год назад +1

      The black plastic grille in the front needs to be cut down (about 1/2 of it's size, I used a saw). The rest of it is just drilling a few holes and the factory studs poke thru so you just line it up, center it (I used painter's tape and measured side to side to get accurate measurement points) and go. Should take you less than 1 hour to do it. I had a local painter shoot my paint code color to match my truck on it before I final mounted it to the hood. I like it, gives the truck a unique look.

    my 01 had 435,000 on it before i messed it up. lol yeah i said "I messed it up." The temp dropped 40 degrees one night and cracked the block because i only had water in it my fault. I truly believe it would have gone another 400,000 miles if that would not have happen.

    I recently bought a 98 Ford F150 ext cab 4.6 2 wheel drive base model with 160,000 miles for $2,500.
    I've been going through it and it will be a good truck.
    If I put $2,,500 in it I'll have a total of $5,000 in a good truck.
    I sure can't afford a new one.
    Keep the old trucks on the road :)

    Love this truck and the 08 f150 on your page. Did you notch the frame or add helper bags in the rear? 7” drop is quite a bit! My 08 2wd foose edition had the axle hitting the frame when it was at a 7” drop

    • @98saleen
      @98saleen  Год назад

      Thanks! No I didn't use the full 7" drop. I have the rear shackles at the highest setting of the kit so it is probably only a 5" or so drop as it sits in the vid/pic. I can drop it more by moving the shackle bolt up, but it would be too low if I put any weight in the back and most likely hit something.

    I’ve got a 97 f150 and my ABS light came on and locks up when I slip on wet roads . The ABS came on and it used to and it’d go away I remember one mechanic saying something like the abs cord isn’t fully up it moves. Where can I find this wire to zip tie up? Or what

    • @98saleen
      @98saleen  Год назад

      If the ABS light comes on when you slip on wet roads, that means it is working properly. The job of the ABS is to detect wheel slip and when it does you will see the light activate and the ABS solenoid will pulse pressure to that particular wheel to slightly apply the brakes to prevent the wheel from slipping. If your mechanic inspected the truck recently and found any wires hanging or an issue, he should have tied them up or replaced them. The wires have factory attachment points and should hang slightly to compensate for the wheel turning and the suspension moving up and down.

    Did your truck come with the fog lights oriy? If not how did you wire them up. I have a 1997 F150, but I want upgrade the bumper with the factory fog lights.

    • @98saleen
      @98saleen  Год назад +1

      Great question. No originally my truck did not come with fog lights. I purchased that front bumper/grille assembly with the fog lights (off a 4x4 model) and then wired up a 12V relay so that when I turn on my parking lights it sends a 12V signal to the relay and that feeds power to the fog lights (simply ground the other wire for the fog light bulb).
