LOL ! Love it !! I've been used to a reserve tank on my other Honda, but the CTX1300 doesn't seem to have that... so, I've been to scared to run it too low ! Thanks for the insight !! * FYI - I have done a mile-tracking using the notches in the fuel gauge. Each notch gets me at least 25 miles. There are 7 notches (from empty to full) !!!
Thanks for sharing. I seen videos of people complaining there is no fuel range indicator. But I guess it’s only when your low on fuel. Makes total sense
After the low fuel warning is activated, you'll get an estimate of how many miles you can go based on your current use. Take it easy the estimate goes up. Get aggressive and the estimate goes down. I pushed it once to where it was down to 10 miles left to go. After that it showed three dashes. --- I think it was telling me, you're on your own now. It took 5.1 gallons of gas to fill it up. That's 2/10 of a gallon left.
Thanks for pointing out the miles to go feature. But, one of these machines just came up on craigslist here in 2022 with 9000 miles on it. I guess this is pretty much the same engine that comes in the ST 1300. I test drove one of those with the full amount of cash in my pocket one day. I was ready to buy it until I got about 10 miles out on a test drive. The heat felt like I had hairdryers blowing on both of my legs. And I was not in traffic. In fact I was on back roads through cornfield land and I was getting roasted on an 82° day. I always wear all the gear including Kevlar jeans, and that Kevlar will actually stop some of the heat, but I did not buy that ST 1300 simply because of the heat issue.. so I’m here on RUclips today because of the one that came up for sale on craigslist, and the guy put a video out explaining that that’s one of the 10 things he hates about the bike. So that’s it. I’m gonna pass on this machine even though the overall package is just what I like. Foot pegs, fairing, bags, shaft.. I don’t like that it has a 200 mm rear tire. The wider the tire,The more prone it is to hydroplaning, and the harder it is to get the bike to rotate into corners. You have to give a lot of countersteer and hold that pressure on the bars to get it to stay down in corners compared to a machine with narrow tires
Jody, thanks for the comment. i have never experienced any heat from the engine, were it made the ride too uncomfortable' and i have ridden on days when it's into the 90;s, i think the ctx1300 is a great bike, but your right about the rear tire and the saddle bags are too small. i will be trading mine in for a goldwing in june. but i am very happy with the ctx1300. have a good day
The CTX isn't an ST when it comes to the felt heat. I have almost 38000 on my CTX and love it. It corners just fine with the 200 tire. The only problem I've had with wet roads is the wrong tire. Some grip wet pavement better than others. I currently use an Avon tire which uses silica. Silica makes a tire grip wet pavement better than a tire without it, and it makes tires last longer. I put on that tire on a rainy day and took it for a test ride on wet asphalt. I'll always use an Avon from now on. Does that give you an idea? And I've never experienced any hydroplaning with any tire I've used on the rear.
Kens power sports in little chute Wisconsin, here's their number 920 788 0220. I just call them and they don't have any right now. They said when they do they will put them on their website. Sorry you had to watch that. Thank you
Where did you buy the handlebar grips? They look great. I installed some foam covers over my grips, but would love to install nice grips like you installed.
I want to know about how many miles for ctx700. I got 205 still had gas in there filled at 2.99 still had about .37 in ntank I need to see if they have that gas thing on mine was given the wrong manual for mine the dct version and mine manual. Got it 3 weeks ago 2014. Love my bike. Wish found this sooner. How many total miles can you get
On my ctx1300, the gas feature came on when there was .9 tenths of a gallon of gas left. So just under a gallon left. It comes up automatically when the fuel light comes on. I could go about 220 miles on a tank of gas. But I do mostly rural highway driving not in the city. Ps. I really regret selling that bike
The range drops real quick 30 then 10 before u know it; I have the blue deluxe: 23k miles, great bike but I'm selling it; 3rd bike in my garage; great engine, good enough, handling, love the storage, comfortable for passenger, overall great bike. Missing: grip warmers, cruise control, electric windshield and a gear indicator is always nice
As soon as that comes up on the dash I start looking for a gas station. But that feature is very nice. I'm hoping too sell the bike this spring so I can buy a golding. Thanks for the comment 👍

Max, I had that bike for 2 seasons. Never had any problems with the fuel system. I put on 18,000 miles. If you take care of your bike it will run for a long time. I owned over 15 bikes in my life so far, I never had a fuel problems with any of them.

How’s the audio system quality compared to a new bike? Volume and sound quality wise
Clayton. My ctx1300 is not the deluxe model, so there's no radio.

Thanks Mike. Got mine at Ken's powersports in little chute. But you can find them at any dealership or they can order them
Amazon might have them too
