We're actually on the same page here. I never played Crash 1 until now. I started with Crash 2 and 3 and never went back for 1. It took me over an hour to complete Sunset Vista without dying for my walkthrough video. I could've uploaded it on the first try but I'm trying to do them as clean as possible. Some of these are just ridiculous! I'm glad you're still going though :)
That's because it used to be easier. They unified all the jump mechanics to make them more like crash three which makes the jumps harder in crash one. They also altered the shapes of the hitboxes so even if you make the jumps it's possible to slide off afterward.
Everyone whos complaining about how hard this level is in the N.Sane trilogy try playing the original... You had ONE SHOT at the brio bonus... otherwise you restart the level
Thanks for that tidbit about "not being penalized for dying in a bonus room". Made this SLIGHTLY more bearable. Got "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" for the Switch when my sister dragged me to Walmart for "Black Friday" shopping this year. Getting held up on this level DID come with a perk. It helped me rack up some much needed lives so I don't see the "Uka Uka Game Over" screen anytime soon.

I was so proud of myself because after 100000 tries i got all the bonus rounds, all the little faces and all the boxes, 82of82 and at the end is says almost perfect BUT YOU DIED! 😳 My left thumb is throbbing and i dont even get a gem! Im done with Crash for today 🖕😂
It isn't. It's harder on the hd systems because of the crappy controls. If you still have this on PS1, hook that up to a Crt & play this level. You'll beat it easily withing 10 min. Also you don't need to do the Bonus stages.
Most difficult part are that annoying platforms. 5:59 Advice: if you are playing for the first time do not leave the level and practice jumping back and forth on these platforms. I spent 15 minutes on them and now I can do it perfectly. I got a green gem
xjasxmine 123 You have to make sure on the box behind the second bat that you hold the jump button, and you’ll hit the hidden crate that reveals the box necessary to get the head
@@Maddybrough199 You need to push the jump button while landing on the box in order to jump higher which lets you reach that token. You'll encounter that scenario multiple times during the level, e.g. with yellow lizards instead of boxes. Good luck!
If the box isn’t there you can’t get it. You need the box. So it means you only get one try. Hold x the moment you land on the box and that will give you the amount of jump you need to get the nitro token.
This is the level where I lost 18 lives and got my first game over since buying N Sane trilogy. Got so mad I went and started playing Cortex Strikes Back! Need to give it another go, the part that was owning me was those rotating bridges right at the end of the level, couldn't find a reliable method of getting over them.
Duncan Crickett if someone knows how to get across the balance bridges then please let me know. I've just blown 20 lives trying to get across and still no success!
The best way to get over them, in my opinion, is to try to jump as far towards the center as possible. No matter which platform you do land on, jump IMMEDIATELY when you land, until you get to the middle one. Repeat the same thing while trying to get off.

If you have an above 60 hrz screen, i highly recommend editing your Nvidia setting in apps to force you screen frame rate otherwise this game feel super laggy.

Tips you can do when going for the gems. You can Die as Many times as you want before the first CheckPoint You can Die In Bonus Levels In the Original Apparently you don’t have to get the Gems In the Bonus. They are optional. Just don’t Die in the First Checkpoint (You still gotta get Cortex key to 100%)
The part where u have to jump on the sliding platform and fight the bats is the part where I have died almost every single time. It just seems like luck as the sliding platform is so fast
The hardest parts of this level of the parts I passed without thinking on the first 3 tries. Like, the jump button no longer clear the second jump after the first checkpoint for me. I am just leaking lives.

Yeah it is. Play the original game on the PS1 through a CRT tv. You'll see it's much easier, way better controls. You don't have to do bonus levels. I got 2 Gems already. This remastered game I keep on dying because he doesn't control well at all.

HELP ME.... At :57 u bounce on the box to get the special level white head guy with the bolts in his neck, when I get there tho there is no box just an empty spot for a box as if I’m supposed to hit an exclamation point box but there isn’t one of those around to hit either.

He's not talking about the ! block on the left of the long vertical climb halfway through the level, he's saying there's another hidden out of sight in the second alcove near the start of the level, before you get to the first missing block. If you need more lifes, just postion yourself close to 'master bat' (not so you can kill him by spinning), and every time his gang passes by, just spin. Approximately 12 wumpas you get every time. Easy
I never understood peoples fascination at spinning the bats, the first one doesn't stop them coming and once you get to the second one you're past the obstacle they present so its a pointless exercise?

As soon as I grasped the timings I found this level pretty straight forward. Stormy Ascent however, can die and never come back.
I lost 45 lives on Stormy Ascent, but I liked it. I like it when games offer a good challenge, if it were too easy, it'd be boring.

I'm just gonna copy what the guy in this video does and hope for the best, those bridges are cancer!

I think most people overthink them, do a super jump to the middle and then do a small jump to the end platform and finally a super jump to the floor

The alcove at 0:46 has a hidden ! box. High bounce off the box in the alcove and you'll hit it.

In the alcove before the token, there is a hidden ! box. Hold the jump button when bouncing on the box in the alcove and you'll hit it.

It's tricky, but you jump towards the screen, then move your thumb clockwise around the dpad/stick from 6 to 12.
