Ok as an NTU alumnus who graduated last year, all the food tasted good even if they might suck because I was so stressed from studies that my taste buds go haywire. So if juniors wanna know about ntu food: everything taste good la!

SMU Food recommendations!
1. Tea Party (Mushroom Cream), their cream pastas are generally better
2. Food Republic (manulife centre) - Chirashi Don
3. Hong Seng Curry Rice - Curry Chicken
4. Parklane Shopping Mall - AKA. POMO Caifan - The beehoon is damn legit + please try the butter chicken as well..
5. Koufu Western Food
6. B3 at the concourse the Thai burger (Not sure if they still have it on their menu!)
And more options a bit further away but still within the vicinity of SMU...
1. Teng bespoke (sunshine plaza) Japanese cuisine but its Vegetarian! Must try the vegetarian sashimi, really very impressive. Although it's quite expensive... hahah
2. Fortune centre Korean 2nd floor - bimbimbap and some of the other dishes quite value for money! Very crowded during lunch hour.
3. Sweet fish (Capitol Piazza)- Poke bowl, quite nice , just skip the yuzu one!

SMU Recommendations:
- Tea Party, Bacon Aglio Olio (many comments about the cream pasta but I prefer their aglio olio!! Although its oilier, it's quite a good comfort food)
- Manulife Centre Food Republic, Roasted Chicken Rice (after eating this, this is THE ONLY chicken rice I eat, no kidding)
- Parklane Mall Cai Fan (everyone calls it POMO caifan but it's actually located in Parklane mall -- cheap and good!)
- Parklane Mall Malay Stall (next to caifan stall, their beef rendang is awesome)
- SMU Koufu Fish Soup (fried fish or sliced fish with ee mian and milk)
- SMU Koufu Western Food (one of the more decent meals in Koufu lol, try the fried fish / grilled chicken. Most importantly, don't get the coleslaw as one of your sides -- no one does that cuz it sucks LOL. Can try the cheese fries / pasta / mashed potato for sides :))

I grew up in NTU and my dad was a professor there and all I can remember is this dry orange colored thin chicken strips which were a bit sweet and brown pad thai looking noodles. Omg I miss it so bad and suddenly have a memory of the taste, it was so good.
Tea Party at SMU! Many people recommend the cream pastas but all the pastas are really good! Suggest that y'all order one cream based pasta and another that isn't cream based to see which one is really better!

1. Tea Party (Carbonara/Shroom Cream)
2. The Big Cheese at Sunshine Plaza (All American)
3. Zenso/Thai Gold Food at Sunshine Plaza (Cheap and good thai food!)
4. Oven Marvel at Sunshine Plaza (Curry Puff)
OMG SMU TEA PARTY PASTA (bacon cream) IS GOOD.
Nearby at POMO the Thai boat noodle is amazingggggg!!

As a crescent hall resident, i really feel you when u heard it is closed. It is under "renovation" and most likely open end of sep but no guarantee our favourite stalls are returning (thai, korean etc)

- Tea Party Bacon Aglio or Bacon Cream (School of Econs), can be damn salty depending on their mood and sometimes the Aglio olio can be too oily even though I like it.
- Hong Seng Curry Rice Pork cutlet (Information Systems), take the mixed sauce option if you want it less spicy, it's not fantastic but a good option for takeaway.
- Beancurd tart (Near Wilkie Edge), its my LIFE. ***
- Thai Boat Noodles (Pomo, beside 7-11), the noodles are really Q ***
- Teppei Chirashi (Raffles City), cheaper option is Food Republic's Chirashi but Teppei is MUCH fresher and the portion is bigger. ***
- Honey Glazed Chicken Rice or the Ayam Penyet (Food Republic).
- Leong Yeow Chicken Rice (Waterloo street), always long queue.
- Taste Good Salted Egg Yolk Chicken or Butter Pork Ribs (Sim Lim Square, Level 2).
The problem with eatbook is that their ratings are super confusing??? Also they have a tendency to rate everything around the same? Then what's the point of comparison??? Also they always say everything is nice. Not impressed.

The person who recommended anything at the South spine canteen must be trolling you. That canteen is known for having bad food.
If it's known for bad food, please explain to me the long queues especially during lunch time. I frequently eat there and I find the food there delicious. Maybe it's just you who finds the food there bad...
During lunch time most canteens are like that bro, it's not because the food is nice but because that's their closest option before heading to their lessons

People recommending tea party at SMU are out of your mind. That pasta is MSG infested and prolly one of the "bo bian nothing to eat" options.
The honest truth is that... Tea Party (at School of Econs) is probably the only decent food in SMU haha.

I don't even study/work in SMU yet will go there specially for this whenever I'm in the area.
There's a small and humble shop opposite SMU Hostel (walking distance from SMU campus) along Prinsep Street. Named "300 Boru", it is found within the premise of Geisha Specialty Coffee cafe. They specialise in two kinds of dry ramen, the Mazemen Kuro ($6.90) and Mazemen Shiro ($7.90) and 3 levels of spiciness!
SMU Tea Party's Carbonara and prawn aglio olio. Order it with extra sauce and noodles for the carbonara as well as extra noodles and garlic for the prawn aglio olio. BE SURE TO PUT ONE/HALF SCOOP OF THE MANDATORY CHILLI FLAKES.
You missed out can 1 mala and western :(

For SMU, the roasted chicken at chef's kitchen waterloo street is really good. It is a tze char place that sells really delicious cai fan and chicken rice. Hope you guys enjoy it

There is a delicious salted egg chicken at sim lim square level 2 and I think it's not too far from SMU.
About the youtube I think the best way to explain is "western youku".
For the Canteen 9 mala, I stay in hall 9 for 3 year and never order tomyam.
I think you should try "zhong xiao la" (middle small spicy) for original mala. it is damn legit!

Kaki Fuyong and the Chicken Chop (w cheese fries and pasta) from SMU Koufu is quite legit. Also of course Tea Party Express' Prawn Aglio and Carbonara. Nearby, we have waterloo coffeeshop where the chicken rice is damn good. And pomo cai fan.

Try Leong Yeow chicken rice at 261 Waterloo Street and there's also a really good caifan place nearby in the same building. Order the salted egg chicken it's rlly legit good!

Canteen B has taken a similar fate as 1, but the food remain, can't say the same for the prices. Canteen 2 had a change in hand as well, but all remain safe and sound...
