@jeff kittleson I love both of these fighters so I'm always surprised when I see comments like yours. Nick was clearly going through a lot of psychological issues on top of everything else. It's sad that people don't give him the credit he deserves. As much as I love GSP I do believe he was doping. Nick smoked weed there's a huge difference. On an even playing field Nick would have ran through even more fighters in his day. GSP takes the easy win and can be boring to watch, Nick would go out there and give the fans an awesome show. We need more Nick Diaz's in this sport, especially nowadays.
nick is not just a fighter hes a true martial artist and a loyal team member. you guys can say all you want but this guy has insane discipline he trains triathlons on his free days, and respects the traditional martial arts and bruce lees philosophy of learning and taking what you can from different kinds of arts. and the whole brawl i saw that differently. i saw that as a true friend backing his friend and teammate up from some guy stealing his golden moment. WAR DIAZ
the ufc dosnt want nick to become champion because hes not full of shit like the other fighters and he knows weed should be legal and all that stuff so i agree he should of goten a title shot a long time ago but they just keep making excuses because the more he fight the more posilbe it is that he will lose eventually.
KB: so diaz, you're the favorite in this fight. how do you feel about that? Nick : (ADD kicks in a looks at a guy with a black eye and disregards the question) what happened to you eye?
I 100% agree! Both of the Diaz brothers are but Nick is just whoa damn sexy! I'm a female I just use my ex's account cuz I dont want to lose the subscriptions etc.
Everybody always counts out Diaz. Nothing new. "Shamrock was too experienced; Scott Smith was too explosive; Zaromskis' kicks were too good; Noons boxing was too good; Santos was too big and strong; Daley will KO him easily; Penn will make him look silly". It never stops. People love to hate the dude but you're right you can never count him out against anybody. He is extremely skilled, always shows up in superb shape, and adapts very well to his opponents.
Nick is good at what he does too! He out cardios guys and makes them keep his pace! He is also outstanding at jiujitsu... How many people pull of gogoplatas in the ring lol
Even now, GSP is not doing full training. Here is his daily routine (he posted it a day ago): "Discuss the training plan with the team, bike/cardio warm-up, manual therapy on my leg, dynamic stretching, strength exercises, then water therapy, cool down and feedback."
@UFCfan4lif3 Agree. Karyn please try to keep the microphone as close to Nick as to your mouth, so the volume is even. Makes it comfortable to listen to.
@AndersMidtgaard J. Octagon Control 1. The fighter who is dictating the pace, place and position of the fight. 2. A striker who fends off a grappler's takedown attempt to remain standing and effectively strike is octagon control. 3. A grappler who can takedown an effective standing striker to ground fight is octagon control. 4. The fighter on the ground who creates submission, mount or clean striking opportunities
@ACLogikel K. Effective Aggressiveness 1. This simply means who is moving forward and finding success.(scoring) 2. Throwing a strike moving backwards is not as effective as a strike thrown moving forward. 3. Throwing strikes and not landing is not effective aggressiveness. 4. Moving forward and getting struck is not effective aggressiveness. 5. Shooting takedowns and getting countered and fended off is not effective aggressiveness.
It's essential for his career that he gets used to these interviews. It's all part and parcel of being a pro athlete. It will just take time, practice, and more practice. Social anxiety is something that people can learn to handle. (speaking from personal experience).
He never once says that he wants to see proof of Georges injury, all he said was is he hasnt seen or heard anything about it and that sometimes he wonders "was he was really hurt" because of the fact that hes training already.
@SylverSC You can have a 10-10 round. That's what happens if there is no winner of a round. For some reason.judges don't give them out very often though. The UFC also don't communicate this very well with Goldberg saying "the round winner gets 10 points, his oppponent 9 or less" as there can be a round where neither fighter wins thus being a 10-10 round.
@ACLogikel Here is a contract for Condit vs Diaz rematch, written by someone from UFC forum: Section 1 Movement 1.1Both fighters may move, however the only movement allowed must be directly forwards or backwards. 1.2 Sideways movement will be met with an initial point deduction, then DQ. 1.3 Ideally to avoid movement (cheating) both fighters should be teatherd together with a length of rope no longer than the exact measurment of Diaz reach (to be measured at weigh in)
@ACLogikel kicking 2.1 Should either fighter wish to kick they must inform the ref who will check with Diaz if it is okay. Diaz can then approve or reject. 2.2 Should either fighter land a kick the fight will be stopped for the ref to check with Diaz if the kick was hard enough to socre, if the kick is deemed not hard enough by Diaz the fight will stop whilst the judges remove from the scorecards 2.3 Diaz is not to be kicked in the face as it's still damaged from the last fight
@fragman123xx 10-10 round is theoretically possible in the original 10 point "must" system, which meant that the the judges "must" award at least one fighter 10 points. but a 9-9 round is more common, either if a boxer won a round after a knock down, or if a boxer who won a round was deducted a point for a foul.
I love watching nick and nate fight but it gets me down that he says he does not like to fight i wish he was really into to it seems like hes losing that spark if you know what i mean
See... this is fighting.... points really shouldn't be the 1st thing your thinking of... But Condit or should i say greg jackson makes sure you do enough for 3 rounds or 5... but not enough 2 actually win a fight
@topteam209 well said m8 you are so right nick is very very wise and far from being stupid its the lunatics that pull him to bits over some interview that dont make any difference to anyone
@PermaneoImperator That scorecard looks a lot more correct than the official ones. How 2 judges gave 4 rounds to Condit I'll never know. Only thing I don't get with your scoring is that you give the 1st round to Diaz but not the 2nd. I thought he was clearly more dominant in the 2nd than the 1st.
George has defended his belt against the best .Right now Johnny is the top contender meaning he is number 2 ,not Diaz who lost his last fight then got suspended!
Look when you go to school and all you care about is MMA. Then you end up with a PHd in MMA> Im sure there are not many writers or PR reps that could not hold their own in a cage. Diaz never wasted his life to learn how to speak precise and concise, he trained in martial arts.
Diaz's jujitsu is muuuch better than GSP's though. So if he goes down, theres a good chance Diaz can submit him. I would still give the edge to GSP but Diaz is too talented to count out. Also keep in mind GSP wants to prove to people he can finish fights now. So he might keep it standing and try to punch with Diaz (bad idea IMO), or be more reckless on top to try to finish Diaz, so maybe he'll get caught
@Thiagosilva2487 I agree. Greg Jackson is replacing physicality and athletecism with strategy-which is taking its toll on the product. While strategy is a key factor in a fight, we watch to see gladiators not strategists.
youre silly to say that, find me anyone thats not called chael sonnen that dominated anderson silva purely by his wrestling, doubt gsp would have the same success against silva, gsps freestyle wrestling is amazing counting the fact that he has no collegial background at all, but you cant call sonnen a joke, hes in the top 5 best wrestlers in mma for sure
I'm no expert on the UFC or whatever, but I think GSP is awesome cause he does Karate, and he's a very humble, kind, calm headed, professional fighter. I think this has a lot to do with his Kyokushin Karate background. Mouth shut, hands up =)
someone get him a doctor' certificate... alot of people are counting out Condit in this fight... Diaz is a real good fighter and the last two fights have definitely added some credibility... however, one must remember that Diaz couldn't finish a 1 round gas tank BJ Penn... yes, he can overwhelm strikers but leaves himself open to counters... also, Diaz hasn't fought anyone recently who used elbows (illegal in StrikeForce during his tenure)... eitherway, this will be a good fight...
@PermaneoImperator cecil peoples: 10-9, 10-9, 9-10, 10-9, 10-9 - 49-46 for condit.patricia morse jarman: 10-9, 10-9, 9-10, 10-9, 10-9 - 49-46 for condit. junichiro kamijo: 10-9, 9-10, 10-9, 10-9, 9-10 - 48-47for condit. regardless, condit's strategy won the fight. diaz's strategy was the worst imaginable. he merely followed him around the entire fight.
yea of course its a hard fight, GSPs the champ for a reason lol. But hes never fought someone with a ground game like Nick's. Nicks got unorthodox grappling, and in my opinion has a better overall game than Nate, even tho hes smaller for his division. If GSP wants to take risks (im hoping he keeps it standing at least for a round), I think Nick can pull it off.
@PermaneoImperator I wouldn't say his game plans are shit, arguably the best camp out there. 81% win percentage between all his fighters, would say he's doing pretty good.
if chael sonnen can LOSE two title fights, then jump to a different weight class and immediately fight for that title, then Nick Diaz has a legit claim to fight for HIS ufc welterweight title!!! for crying out loud, he surrendered HIS strikeforce welterweight belt, in order to get a shot at gsp, and just because he missed a press conference, he loses his opportunity??? WTF!!! condit lost to gsp, as we all expected, Nick Diaz should be the no. 1 contender right now.
this is a pick em for me i give a slight edge to diaz if it goes more than 3 but watch for the big shots coming from condit.... and i agree with nick that nate is 1 of the best 155rs
I still disagree with the decision. Diaz had all right to be angry at the decision. Diaz won 1,2 and 5 if not a draw. They should have a rematch before Condit fights GSP in November. Also who cares if he's good on camera, this isn't public speaking, it's MMA.
Geez Karyn ask him if he likes to watch boxing and if yes who his favorite Boxers are? The boys boxing is amazing maybe its because he has a passion for it. :)
everyone saying Diaz is high.. he clearly isnt, there is no indication that he is. eyes are clear and hes speaking the same as normal, plus its like 3 days before the fight even for him thats cutting it close. the marijuana detected was probably from weeks ago
Travis Lutters dominated Silva on the ground. If Sonnen can take him down and Lutters can take him down GSP would take him down no problem he is by far the best wrestler in MMA!
Damn, Nick was so different when he was having a normal conversation with that guy in the beginning.
A real role model and athlete ,hall of fame for sure .
feel bad for this guy sometimes. he obviously cant stand the media and seems like it gives him alot of anxiety.
ik this was 8 years ago but fuck it lol yes its ture both diaz brothers have been diagnosed with social anxiety
nick diaz the legend
+lonewolf 92 Legend of doping!!
+Yoshi Punishment lol
There is no match I'd rather see than Nick pummeling GSP in Nick fashion. None!
I think nick and Nate are the best fighters the world has ever seen!!!!!! And will always think so!!! Good honest hardworking guys!!
nick is not just a fighter hes a true martial artist and a loyal team member. you guys can say all you want but this guy has insane discipline he trains triathlons on his free days, and respects the traditional martial arts and bruce lees philosophy of learning and taking what you can from different kinds of arts. and the whole brawl i saw that differently. i saw that as a true friend backing his friend and teammate up from some guy stealing his golden moment. when is the next update interview with any of the diaz brothers?
KB: so diaz, you're the favorite in this fight. how do you feel about that?
Nick : (ADD kicks in a looks at a guy with a black eye and disregards the question) what happened to you eye?
Not only are the Diaz BROTHER'S effing "WARRIOR'$"... NICK IS DAMN GOOD LOOKING GUY!!!!💞👊💪💪💪💪
I 100% agree! Both of the Diaz brothers are but Nick is just whoa damn sexy! I'm a female I just use my ex's account cuz I dont want to lose the subscriptions etc.
11:34 you can immediately notice a difference in Nick when he gets asked a question he isn't annoyed by. He suddenly becomes much more well-spoken.
Nick is a GENIUS..I say this sincerely.
GREAT interview! Thanks!
Personally i dont hate Carlos Condit i like him but I love Nicks fighting style and i think Nick should have won that fight just saying
NICK DIAZ THE GOAT
Nick beat both silva and Condit. Dana fucked him over too much
ufc lightweights, welterweights and middleweights are the fights i get most excited about
Nick is good at what he does too! He out cardios guys and makes them keep his pace! He is also outstanding at jiujitsu... How many people pull of gogoplatas in the ring lol
PayDiaz !!!
nick taking a bong rip is more interesting than a gsp fight
Diaz ain't that bad a dude. He's cool with me has a lot of heart just has some skeletons in his closet like everyone else out there in the world
Even now, GSP is not doing full training. Here is his daily routine (he posted it a day ago):
"Discuss the training plan with the team, bike/cardio warm-up, manual therapy on my leg, dynamic stretching, strength exercises, then water therapy, cool down and feedback."

Great interview
Nick is getting Alot better at articulating himself. Kudos Nick.
Nick is improving a lot in his interviews
1, 2, and 5 Diaz!!!

THANK YOU! someone who who understands fighting!
i like nick diaz more n more every interview i see of him..
It's essential for his career that he gets used to these interviews. It's all part and parcel of being a pro athlete. It will just take time, practice, and more practice. Social anxiety is something that people can learn to handle. (speaking from personal experience).
@PermaneoImperator very good point, and they should introduce a new rule:
"No running from opponent"
He looks a lot more comfortable in this interview.
He never once says that he wants to see proof of Georges injury, all he said was is he hasnt seen or heard anything about it and that sometimes he wonders "was he was really hurt" because of the fact that hes training already.

@kisame5000
why would it be hard to watch? just curious?
Carlos has been fighting for many years, he is very well seasoned.Where the hell are you getting your information from?
you are complete right man
@ACLogikel Here is a contract for Condit vs Diaz rematch, written by someone from UFC forum:
Section 1 Movement
1.1Both fighters may move, however the only movement allowed must be directly forwards or backwards.

Does anyone know why he was trying to ignore the woman?
This guy is honest and real. I respect the hell out of that. Mad respect from the Central Valley. Much Love Diaz.
@SinisterSkip
And keep up the great work!
One cool thing about nick is that he doesnt put on an act. What you see is what you get.
what is the song in the red bull advertisement
People just need to calm down. Wait for fight night. May the best man win... And get ready for one of the sickest fights ever
he never fought mcdonald...
@ACLogikel kicking
2.1 Should either fighter wish to kick they must inform the ref who will check with Diaz if it is okay. Diaz can then approve or reject.
2.2 Should either fighter land a kick the fight will be stopped for the ref to check with Diaz if the kick was hard enough to socre, if the kick is deemed not hard enough by Diaz the fight will stop whilst the judges remove from the scorecards
2.3 Diaz is not to be kicked in the face as it's still damaged from the last fight
I bet folks are gonna try to ask Nick all sorts of difficult questions at this press conference later to attempt to stir up some drama
i wanna see gsp's response to that.
My wife has had two knee surgeries and has never been able to work out right after surgery, so he has a point.
So tense and nervous
Just because they aren't fighters doesn't mean they can't ask questions. Thats like saying a boxing analyst doesn't know what they're talking about.
Nate beat the shit out of mcdonald what are you talking about.
Nate should have one his standup beat Rory's grappling for two rounds but Nate definitely didn't beat his ass... I'ma a Diaz fan btw
Diaz is the most fascinating sports figure i've seen since Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.
I love watching nick and nate fight but it gets me down that he says he does not like to fight i wish he was really into to it seems like hes losing that spark if you know what i mean
@youngweezy11 I agree. The only way I think Diaz could loose is if he gets cut. I don't think Condit will out work him or catch him with a KO.
Congrats nick, for fighting through your social fears. I know it's not easy.
I have social anxiety and i'm out a lot
See... this is fighting.... points really shouldn't be the 1st thing your thinking of... But Condit or should i say greg jackson makes sure you do enough for 3 rounds or 5... but not enough 2 actually win a fight
you don't need to explain yourself to anybody nick, just kick ass!!!!
@topteam209 well said m8 you are so right nick is very very wise and far from being stupid
its the lunatics that pull him to bits over some interview that dont make any difference to anyone

Condit is good, but I just can't see him not losing this fight... Diaz is just a better overall fighter...

I love seeing him trying so hard to create that "I do not conform" image for himself.
@Thiagosilva2487 I agree. Greg Jackson is replacing physicality and athletecism with strategy-which is taking its toll on the product. While strategy is a key factor in a fight, we watch to see gladiators not strategists.
wonder where ariel is

GSP in mma is no doubt the best wrestler. I don't recall him being taken down once. Chael on the other got taken down and stuffed by bisping.
someone get him a doctor' certificate... alot of people are counting out Condit in this fight...
Love this kid Nick Diaz for champ 2012
god i hate these interveiws where you cant hear!!!
Sometimes interviewers ask the most stupid stuff. "What have you done to give back since UFC 137?". What does this have to do with anything???
who is the guy with a black eye?
Nick Diaz fought Frank Shamrock in StrikeFoce
woah dang, i have a social anxiety disorder too :( thanks for letting people know it's not easy to cope with >_
@SecroAdamir Pretty solid breakdown. Diaz is tough to finish early though. That's why I give a huge advantage to Nick
@PermaneoImperator cecil peoples: 10-9, 10-9, 9-10, 10-9, 10-9 - 49-46 for condit.patricia morse jarman: 10-9, 10-9, 9-10, 10-9, 10-9 - 49-46 for condit. junichiro kamijo: 10-9, 9-10, 10-9, 10-9, 9-10 - 48-47for condit. regardless, condit's strategy won the fight. diaz's strategy was the worst imaginable. he merely followed him around the entire fight.
Can't see him taking Jones down, but we'll see

in all honesty, i rather see DIAZ vs CONDIT over DIAZ vs GSP.
@PermaneoImperator I wouldn't say his game plans are shit, arguably the best camp out there. 81% win percentage between all his fighters, would say he's doing pretty good.
Nice to know the truth about B.J. Penn's black belt...
Nick is a smart fighter and he is a bad bad man!!!
Dam he's got some scar tissue, True warrior, WHERE YOU AT GEORGE!
if chael sonnen can LOSE two title fights, then jump to a different weight class and immediately fight for that title, then Nick Diaz has a legit claim to fight for HIS ufc welterweight title!!! for crying out loud, he surrendered HIS strikeforce welterweight belt, in order to get a shot at gsp, and just because he missed a press conference, he loses his opportunity??? this is a pick em for me i give a slight edge to diaz if it goes more than 3 but watch for the big shots coming from condit....
and i agree with nick that nate is 1 of the best 155rs
@0crazylegs actually i do not get punched and kicked in the face for a living so my brain is just fine. thanks for the concern though
@ravballer GSP said yesterday, and I quote "I am no longer the champ - I need to beat the winner of this fight to be the champ again"
I actually can kind of see that. But are you serious or just saying that?
everyone saying Diaz is high.. he clearly isnt, there is no indication that he is. eyes are clear and hes speaking the same as normal, plus its like 3 days before the fight even for him thats cutting it close. the marijuana detected was probably from weeks ago
Travis Lutters dominated Silva on the ground. If Sonnen can take him down and Lutters can take him down GSP would take him down no problem he is by far the best wrestler in MMA!
i know he doesnt like talking in front of the mics and all that but still , you think he should learn a lil ??
