      no. we don't. We get vivid details from our grandparents. My father was black and I learned a lot from his mother(my grandmother) making these slave movies only remind whites how good they had it once. We need reminding. We were always strong. Before slavery. Slavery just showed the strength we already had. We don't need slave movie to tell us that

The women that DO apply are much more likely than men to be hired meaning they have more opportunity. The only problem is that girls/women do not study STEM majors as much which is their responsibility.

Most important woman in the entire history of the Apollo program and most important person in the history of software engineering because she invented it - not mentioned even once in this movie because she's white and that didn't fit with their revisionist history. First she invented software engineering then she wrote the software that landed twelve men on the moon.

    To the many people who do not believe this is a true story, look up Katherine Johnson on Wikipedia. I'd like to remind people that, many women and minorities contributions have been downgraded in history. It wasn't until 2016 that NASA finally named a building after one of these women in Hidden Figures. This movie is just another angle of a view in time, telling another story to broaden the understanding of what happened.

  • @BecomeAForce
    @BecomeAForce Год назад +2

    I just watched hidden figures and it’s in my movie hall of fame. It’s about 3 black women who worked at nasa and were the first black and first women to break barriers. First black women to play prominent math role in getting America to space and the moon. First black women nasa engineer. First black women supervisor of quants. What moved me the most is they didn’t use race or gender in calculating what they considered possible and didn’t let it distract them from identifying and focusing on the problems they wanted to pursue or were tasked with solving. And in my opinion transcending race and gender (viewing race as just pigment of skin and gender as purely gender) is what allowed them to do what other people around them thought was impossible. When someone said, “you can’t do that why are you deceiving yourself” they didn’t accept the beliefs of others and pursued what they wanted with humility and emotional balance to be ok with themselves regardless of outcome. It also highlighted how being unemotional improves one’s ability to be influential because that clarity helps you identify how what you want can potentially help the people you need support from which incentivizes them….I was watching it and was like, WTH this happened in real life? WHAT A STORY. Teared up a lot. of And also was like, wow, the people who produced this 🫡 FYI it’s on Amazon prime with ads or you can buy or rent it elsewhere

I am glad that movies nowadays touch topics about women's rights and fights against racism :) I live in a community full of asians (as i am an asian obviously), so I never understood how dark-skinned people feel in such situations. Watching this movie made me want to cry as the scenes fully depicted the injustice of such classism. Tschnavia Brown I just went and saw it myself lol it started 5 hours ago, you know what's Tripping me out is that they are saying all over the place that this is a false story that it never happened, that actually hurts me to think the directors would just make up something like this, I don't know I'm confident it's a true story and a good concept.

      Javier Anguiano I think is True story as well..When i was in school teachers ever told us the real history..only in the history books Now some years later i found out alot of other black people did some of GREAT and WONDERFUL things.. i don't think those SMART and iNTELLIGENCE woman wouldn't make this story up. In the 60's alot of Black People wasn't Knowledged for all their Accomplishments It's sad but it's the truth.

    being a 46 year old black man, this is a movie that I would consider to be one of the top ten most significant movies in our current generation to portray a story and give hope to our younger black community hope and determination to Aspire for more than than their current standings in society today.

    finally some more inspirational TRUE stories involving people other than whites. I'm a white female and I remember when the movie princess and the frog came out and people were excited for young black girls to have a princess role model. sure, the other princesses were great and stuff but soon enough you realize that people with your skin color are only portrayed in movies or shows as thugs or gangsters and you believe that's all you can amount to. if you see that people with your skin color can also be smart and be a CEO or an engineer or something like that, it changes your thoughts on your options for the future. loving these uncovered old stories being made into movies. =)

    • @HouseMDaddict
      @HouseMDaddict 8 лет назад

      also regarding the princesses, if you don't see a princess you can relate to (with little kids you match hair color, or eye color, and sometimes skin color) you suddenly feel like you can't be a princess.

      Actually in Africa they make movies all the time about african princesses getting married to their dream man and being monogomous. Africa has all of that they are all about 1 man 1 female monogamy with an emphasis on planning for the future. Black people in America regularly watch those african movies so they definitely get to see that stuff.

      Do not be fooled by what you see, this movie and many more from hollywood are designed to instill white guilt into young impressionable minds. If you don't know what white guilt is it is basically a method of control which evil people use to try and brainwash a specific people (in this case white people) into believing that they have to feel sorry for the rest of their lives for events which happened before they were even born. As well as the general weakness which comes with unwarranted guilt.
      You school system and most schools are trying to brainwash you into becoming a weak and mentally unstable person, so that the governing forces in this world can control you much easier when you leave school. I feel that I have to warn you to think for yourself and not take everything they tell you as fact. They DO NOT have your best interest at heart, only their own. It is sad that they are doing this to children but hopefully people can break the conditioning. I know about brainwashing in schools because I went through it too, only you are getting it much worse. I hope you don't end up a weak and confused person from the evil they indoctrinate to the masses.
      Stay strong. Whether you are White or Black, they are trying to confuse us by telling Whites they are worthless and are at the same time empowering Blacks to such an extent that it will cause great havoc upon our societies. If you don't believe me just look at movements such as BLM (BlackLivesMatter), which is basically a terrorist movement which has been fueled by this type of brainwashing. I hope you have read through this all, because I wish I had someone to take the time and tell me these very important things when I was young and in school.
