I subscribed after 5 min of watching your King Crimson tut. Anyone can tell immediately you're dishing out the authentic stuff, nothing watered down. Great work Tony!
Thank you so much, I’m so pleased you like it. And as a lifelong Genesis fanatic, I still can’t figure out why “Aisle of Plenty” makes me cry... so, great handle!
@@UncleTonyGuitar Wow - MY all-time fav band is Genesis! lol You should put some videos up. Suggestions: For Absent Friends, or Can-Utility And The Coastliners would make some great Acoustic tutorials.. :-) pretty pleeeeeese ! hehe. All the best ! (Love that you got the Genesis reference right away lol)
I almost did a tutorial of “For Absent Friends”, but there are two separate guitar tracks, and it’s so hard to sort out. I may do “Horizons”, but for flat pick rather than finger pick. But next I’m going to aim a bit easier, maybe Pail Simon “Me & Julio"? Cheers!
Last week at the museum l met a very cool Dutch guy who plays drums in a Pink Floyd tribute band..They are friends with and regularly open for Jan Akkerman...remember him...???
My all-time favourite piece of music... words, notes, piano and guitar solos, voice and emotion, wot not... The look on uncle's face in the thumbnail for an 18-minute video - erased any doubts of monotony for me.
Thank you so much for this one man!!! One of my favorite Pink Floyd songs from my favorite album. You seem like such a nice guy and I really enjoyed your tutorial.
I really wish to have an uncle like you. Since yesterday i've been doing nothing but playing this beautiful song. It's almost ready for my debut.... Hugs mr Tony with all my gratitude and affection
Dude!! This is the 2nd video of you I have watched. Have to say that you have a TON of songs that are in my music collection, this one, BeBopDeluxe, etc. Glad I found your channel.
Thanks, glad you liked the lesson! My 1993 Guild D-55 was an American beauty, but I have traded it in as it was becoming just too difficult to play. I’m trying to make friends with my new Taylor 417eR...
Dude this is the best Pink Floyd track ever....I just discovered it a year or two ago. never Owned the cd of Obscured by clouds, but man I love streaming apps becuase I don't have to buy albums anymore, but man I miss the nostalgia of buying music in the 90's.
actually It was probably November 2020 I had discovered this song....that's a very rough estimate but its only been with me for like two years....so great and meddle is still my favorite album. from them.
Thanks for the great suggestion. It’s one of my very favorite Pink Floyd songs. When I get back to making tutorials, I’ll keep it in mind! Meanwhile, keep on playing… ⭐️🎸
Thank you for a wonderful tutorial, Tony. Is the picking pattern for the chorus different from the verse? It seems like it is, but I can’t quite figure it out.
Thanks, and glad you enjoyed it! The chorus picking is shown at 3:58. On the G chord it’s: down / down / down / up down / up down / up, which is a fairly standard pattern. (Try watching that section and focus only on the right hand. You can even slow the speed to 0.75. We guitarists are so used to watching the left hand, aren’t we?) Hope that helps! 😀
