BMW Hood Latch/Cable Replacement + Hood Strut, Window Button, Hazard Lock Module for E46

Replacing a broken hood latch and cable system for BMW 3 Series, E46. Covers all models of E46 generation, and conceptually similar for other models.
Additionally, Hood Struts, Window Button and Hazard/Lock Button Module are replaced as well.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.. literally bought all 3 cable replacements all genuine parts, installed everything and works like it should- then at random times it won’t open anymore and have to manually pull the cable to release the latches.

How are you able to release the latches? By accessing the kidneys? It sounds like your latches may need lubrication or double check all your connections. Especially the one that meets in the junction box near the air intake. It could just not be seated fully

where did u get the wrench that ur taking the bolts off when the hood was stuck closed? mine doesn’t fit in there
