AW2 has "OD Diner" in the new york part, and remedy changed its logo recently. OD's logo looks strikingly similar. Maybe it's nothing but looking back at this, I have to wonder... @@v-trigger6137 - They're both terribly mediocre games, which made me realize that Lake might be a one-hit wonder. And I say this as someone who was an exclusive PC user who bought an Xbox 360 for the original release of Alan Wake.

As I play through Alan Wake II, I see so many parallels between Lake and Kojima's processes. They both love to mix media in a non-diegetic way (music primarily), they both have post-modern sensibilities to their writing though they apply concepts in different ways (Lake layers meaning like a cake with different levels interacting, while Kojima likes a stew that breaks the fourth wall), and they both write in social commentary (Kojima is more explicit, though Control is very Kojima-esque in this regard). They both also love film and the different ways video games can break the threshold between the two media, you see this both in Quantum Break/Alan Wake II and every Kojima game since MGS4. Just as BG3 and Zelda show what freedom can produce as an applied principle, Remedy and Kojima show the potential of contemporary writing as guiding principle. I hope more follow their lead.
@@Stick4round - What brand of fucking stupid are you? Sorry but I wouldn't do that to Death Stranding, comparing that demo of a game that lacks so much substance and is just a way for Nvidia to show off its stuff and try to sell more RTX cards.

If Sam Lake and Hideo Kojima would team up to write a game the universe would explode from pure awesome weirdness :D
We ain't ready for it!
We are not worthy

Fun seeing Sven and Sam on this panel now that Alan Wake 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 are two of the greatest games of 2023.
Holy... i only figured out this now
Sam Lake is like Keanu Reeves, he never seems to age.
Sam Lake is great! If Kojima were to collaborate with only 1 person, that should be Sam Lake.
@Sergi Arilla go play Alan Wake and Quantum Break

Max Payne 4
Sam lake will always be the face of max payne to me
Ah ha, i thought he looked familiar.
Introgauge .C because they use is face
Sam Lake is just the Finnish version of Kojima.
Sam Lake is the Stephen King of games. Kojima's the Kubrick of video games
Kojima is much more arrogant and a Diva.Lake seems to be more Humble.

The best writer and the best director imo...
Hideo Kojima is a great writer but not Sam Lake level... No one is
