For me, this game was pivotal, as it signalled the beginning of a new era. The Dalglish and Rush era had gone, but this was the most exciting Liverpool team ever...in my humble opinion.
My first ever Liverpool match to attend as a child. Hooked me in deeper. What a beautiful day. I was in the lower stand opposite the camera. I will never forget the people sitting up on the stand roof, the crowd trouble and arrests, and the dazzling John Barnes. I was a kid in a dream. When Nicol scored the winner, I exploded with a joyous cheer and dance amongst the Arsenal fans. My father was trying to keep me quiet and sat down. I still have the ticket at home. Football just seemed better back then.
Looks like big league soccer with the line up font, unless Granada showed it also. Wasnt shown on LWT. So bad in those days, where other countries showed the game live or highlights, and most itv regions showed f all. Granada viewers had it pretty good though, from what ive seen.
Always liked the old grey away kit during the 1987/88 season with the Crown Paints in white. My favourite ever away kit.

Barnes played like the classic Brazilian players.

What a team Liverpool had then , Beardsley, Barnes & Aldridge all combining for the first goal as Liverpool's front three.
0:17 Love the fact you can see Hampstead Heath in the distance, it's like the ground is in a little town.
the start of a brilliant season for liverpool and john Barnes
steve nicol wat a header
Lucky enough to have gone to this. Good days before the plastic clubs and money ruined the game...
Agree, good quality football and players..
Amusing comments from Brian Moore, "without Rush this side will never quite be the same..."
They weren't. They were better. I worried that Klopp's repeating history.
No one could see John Aldridge would go on to be the first division top goal scorer that season.
I was on the North Bank Roof 🙂
I was there, at the clock end.
Great Liverpool team built by King Kenny
I was in the North Bank can't remember any going off in the South Bank
