im so glad we’re getting don cab content in 2023.
I honestly never thought I'd see the day, especially a drum play through by the legend himself! the archival footage and handful of fan covers were all I thought we'd get. I thought i saw everything on youtube a couple years ago so you can imagine my absolute delight upon discovering this series of videos
I just did a guitar cover of Dick Suffers as there's god knows how many Palm trees and Fire back covers

It's So impressive that after 25 years he's still got this down so clean! Amazing stuff. I selfishly hope he never stops.
So do I
@@arturovelasquez2767 Me too
Same
Me too. Absolutely amazing.
I'm a drummer from Pittsburgh and I've been a big fan of Don Cab for years. Mentioned Don Caballero at rehearsal today and talked a big game about the drums. You're a huge inspiration, Damon. Keep jammin!
Damon Che is the Danny Carey of math rock
4:10 Flawless stick recovery
I know that blew my mind! I'm not a drummer but I watched that part with glee and happiness and amazement about 4 times in a row 😂
Crossing my fingers for another Don Caballero album before Damon retires!
Hoping that don cab goes on one last tour. I only got inti them last year and theyre my fav band of all time. Also, where did all the fundraiser money go?
only if Ian reunites, which I don't think will happen. One can hope
@@mrskinszszs also why only if ian reunites, mike banfield was a great guitarist too
@skingloves9162 he was I agree, but Ian was the other main creative force alongside Damon.
@@saidinjest no he said what hes going to do, and we havent seen any of it yet
Thanks Damon.
And to whomever causes these videos to be uploaded: you are a wonderful human.
alluring!!!!!!!! what slays never betrays!
THATS WHY HES THE G.O.A.T
zach hill the goat
@@mochaburner5611 2 goats can coexist
@@Yu-Tron fair enough tbh. damon che is incredible in different ways than zach and so is a massive amount of drummers. zachs just my personal favorite, his stamina and physicality is unmatched
Will always love Damon Che’s playing. No one hits drums like this guy. No one sounds like this. He’s like the EVH of drums.
"What Burns..." remains one of my favorite albums of all time, nearly 25 years after discovering it. This would be quite the endorsement all alone, but what's even more impressive (at least in my own eyes) is the fact that I actually still listen to the album regularly, usually at least once a month.
Thanks for yet another play-through video for a track off of "What Burns..." This sounds remarkably good, and the fidelity to the recording, both in timing and composition *and* sound quality, is truly impressive.
Thanks again... Looking forward to whatever you choose to release in the future. (My fingers are crossed for a play-through of "Room Temperature Lounge/Suite" 😉)
Bro! I was about to say that. Room Temperature Suite is a must with all these playthroughs that have been coming out recently.
Phenomenal work as always Damon!! Really happy to see this song in particular, one of my favorite Don Cab tracks for sure :)
Another legendary track, thanks so much again to Damon for the playthrough and to Ash for the quality videos.
It's honestly very surprising to see a drummer still be as good as he was around 30 years ago.
In terms of consistency and skill Damon is still on top to this day.
wow...25 years and i havent ever seen him drop a stick. this was amazing!
He totally dropped one right towards the end but it was fun to watch cuz he made it work then grabbed a new one
@@vinceswaney6196 He was obviously referring to the stick drop in this video, when he mentioned that he hadn't ever seen him drop a stick until just then.
Jeez I'm so happy to see Damon playing again. Super made my day. Still has it. Probably one of the best rock drummers I've ever seen.
He is the living proof that the most techniques, tips, tricks that are taught in the music schools are useless if you don't have a right idea of the music you wanna play and how you want to play your instrument, instead copying some models. The way he bends and tune his snare drum, having a spare one on his right, are all choices done to have some specific sound and respect his own way of living and play. Bravo Damon!
What a mad man and absolute beast on the drums. Keep it up Damon, you're fantastic!
I’ll never forget the first time I heard Don Cab in the late 90s. I thought for the first time in my life “is…the drummer playing with the band?”🤣🤣❤️
this songs melody halfway thru always gets me
WoWzers, the technicality, the composure, and the all around command of the kit just blows me away... Kudos to you sir, I just found myself a new hero/influence! 🙏🖤
You still have it Ace!
Excellent with the pedal cam
Beautiful. Flabbergasted and inspired !
Hell yea thanks for uploading this Damon!
Great! I wonder to listen drums only track 😊
Just had a stressful day and this made up for it
Killer track and playthrough 😍
Wow, just discovered you//grateful drumhead 🙌🙌
Insane Damon, that was awesome!
He still has it, wow
Love that Husker Du shirt hanging in the back
OUT OF THE WAY!!!
That fill at 3:40. Some of my favorite stuff Damon has ever played. Wow!
I always loved those phrases too. I like how he repeats it several times. It really makes a statement.
@@demonicsweaters It almost sounds like he is playing through a delay pedal or something. Magic.
let's gooooooo !!!!!!!!!
In my opinion your two last albums were the beginning of a new and interesting path for Don. Go on, please!
The stick drop was so weird, it literally vanished, lol. Great recovery though.
oh hell yes!!
More! More!!
the ICEMAN cometh
Watching Damon play reminds me of something Buzz Osbourne said about technique. "Look at Hendrix, he plays an upside down guitar, his thumb is all over the place, he strums backwards - his technique is completely awful, nothing that anyone would ever teach. But he's the best! Why don't guitar teachers teach how to play like him? Because they're too fucking conservative!"
The master!
Yes.
YES!!!!
more covers!!!!!!!!!!
How can I organise a Don Cab concert in Spain?
Can someone help me?
Awesome! Please play Room Temperature Suite 👏
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️
insane
❤❤
2:44 makes my neurons depolarize and then return to normal
Great again damon. Crossing my fingers for Slice Where You Live Like Pie
Yeeeaaaaa
Octopus for sure
Octopus!

the triplets at 1:30 are new
did the babnd forget to hire singer?
But just imagine the faculty he would have with a more ergonomic setup... or maybe he handicaps himself for our sake, not to totally melt our faces
I read that this Is ergonomic for him to play
I miss this era Don Cab so much, What a landmark album still haven't heard anything like it to this day it also influenced one of my favorite drummers and bands heavily Tomas Haake and Meshuggah!
That recovery ❤️🩹 was top notch
❤❤❤❤
