Thank you for this. I very recently bought a PC and have been trying to learn UE5 for game development as a hobby and maybe new skillset as I turn 50yrs old, its been a frustrating and slow process for me... However it has gotten a bit more easier and rewarding bit by bit. However I have always been involved in Marketing most of my life and have had an interest in Graphics but never really attempted to make 3d art myself. I always wondered how people made those cool 3d animated graphics for Ads with products or effects in Movies etc. Since I'm already getting to learn the basics of UE5 I thought I would check out Motion Design since the 5.4 update and this looks a great skillset to learn in the Engine. Now I really do need more tutorials covering the basics to advanced.
👏 Spectacular tut! You have a gift for teaching and you clearly have put allot of work into making it look approachable. 🙏 That's such a gift for students and inspirational for budding artists. You've got a new fan and sub.👊

Good tutorial but the cube asset is not matching plus you didn't show how to set up the three colours. Also I had to set some permissions for the material to work within the cloner. If you check the Niagara in usage section of the details tab for the material it should fix if anyone is having that issue!
@@maxbilko5732 i think in 5.4 it's slightly different maybe. I was doing something recently and was having the same issue then I found yet another small checkbox under Materials then it's like the little icon that is a rectangle and a radio on top. When you hover it should say "Expos this property in RemoteControl Preset..." and it should work!
I also noticed that the lego cube you're using, has the plugs on all side, whereas the one in the link has them only on the top, so I won's get the same result as you show.
Hey! So fun fact I was going to upload the one with plugs on all sides but then realized Lego doesn't look like that To make the ones in the tutorial I used a displacement map in modeling mode I will upload the texture I used for the displacement for you -Shaun

Hi I’m an AE user for 15 years. I want to get into a 3d motion workflow. I have thought about learning C4D for years. But should I just skip C4D and learn this unreal engine really well. Also, I do not and will not model, I only buy models.
Hi Ryan! C4D / Blender / AE are amazing and have been the staple for motion graphics (super nice to see a new tool on the market) I was a big element 3D guy my self! / C4D. I think since UE is new to the scene its going to a take a while to get all the features up and running but yes its a great tool to learn as it comes with solutions that you can build / script into the engine for your motion graphics like particles and fire I would say since you have a very large number of years with AE under your belt give Unreal a spin. And the fact that you are not modeling means your workflow is closer to AE than Blender /C4D so big yes for you also while your learning do join our discord, were thinking of setting up a motion design thread there for questions related to this new segment of Unreal Engine. -RF Shaun
Great video thanks! Can you help with an issue please? The materials which I made in the new material designer look great in viewport, but when rendering with the movie render queue all materials are missing and render black with the following error message: “Detected 2 read-only materials with missing niagra usage flag required to work properly with cloner” In other posts I’ve read to open the materials in the main UE mat editor and make sure that in the materials niagra usage settings that “use with Niagra mesh particles” is checked… But mine are already checked!? Any advice appreciated Many thanks
I love blender ! So both are very different see what works for you and go with that🙂, I use blender for modeling and unreal for rendering since it has no render time with Lumen -Shaun
i thought to beacome a level designer and also get into motion grahics i was learning after effects from a few weeks should i foucs on ue 5.4 - motion graphics or should i stick with after effects ??
is there any way to convert cloner into a static mesh/mesh whatever? For example yr lego cloner in yr video into a static mesh? is it possible? i managed to do that with text actor inside unreal by adding dynamic mesh converter, but it doesn't work with cloners, i'm just getting exported a static mesh that i added to the cloner ( a single object that i already have as a static mesh XD)
Hi the video seems to skip and jumps at 5:33 from having Cloner2 and Cloner3 to suddenly showing Cloner_Text and Cloner_Plain? That's totally thrown me...help?
First i like to thank you for all effort and good work . I have one question did this can be in runtime ? Can access for example texte element from Blueprint? It seem have lot potential for adverting interactive panels
Hey! At the moment (i looked into this) no way to bake out the animation, that said i do think this will be added as one of the dependencies for Motion Design / Graphics is the Geometry Cache
Hi! Nanite only works for M2 and above versions of the Mac. Please refer to the link below: forums.unrealengine.com/t/what-ue-features-are-not-working-on-macbook-m1-max/1318917
It was being called 'avalanche' previously but is not fully integrated into the engine So I'd say it's possible but is allot more polished / closer to completion in 5.4 -RF Shaun
...Good technique... Good job... But I have to tell you that, I think that in the end the concept is a little misused. LEGO would not move like that in any case. but it's just my opinion. I don't think waves go with Lego blocks.
Please do more Ue5 motion tutorials
I second this. The new mograph tools in UE look amazing. Less than 10 min tuts would be ideal.
What a solid tutorial! Right to the point, but still explaining small details from the interface for the new users. Congrats, keep this going ;)
Glad you enjoyed it!

Looking forward to more UE sports graphics related tutorials

Thanks for great tutorial! The Text Actor does not have an option to use effector. Is there a way?
What kind of project did you open unreal as? It just sort of starts with that step skipped. Being 100% new to UE5 I wouldn't recognize.
Thanks for this amazing video. I just want to know why we should do it in Unreal if Blender itself is capable of doing this and even a whole lot more?

how to make it so it loop without visible cuts? Is there an option to do that?
Which template did you start off with? Film/Video blank, Games blank, etc?
I used blank for this one or Third person, the starting template doesn't matter as much

You can try resetting your layout and see if it comes ?

only still texture works for motion graphic?
Hello! Thanks so much for your question! Just to clarify, by media texture do you mean texture from I/O card?
@@Rforge thank you for ur replying i mean movie texture
Sorry but I don't see motion design in available plugins for Unreal Engine 5.3.2. Any idea?
It used to be called avalanche before 5.4
It took less time to watch this whole video than it would to render 10s of this scene in C4D
Hi, new here. Is this possible in 5.3?
It was being called 'avalanche' previously but is not fully integrated into the engine
So I'd say it's possible but is allot more polished / closer to completion in 5.4

Agreed, the pieces would collide with each other! It was more for demonstrative purposes
OR.
Just put something to block the waves under the letters. If that’s possible.
