well, I don't know that I did but, to answer how I learn the covers - I try to find an isolated drum track of the song which there are more and more of on here and I might watch a tutorial if it's a pretty complicated song. The main thing I have used from the beginning is a phone app that lets me slow down a song and listen. Mia Morris Absolutely! i was literally binge watching all your videos last night. You're an all around musical genius and at such a young age! Looking forward to future content! Never stop Rockin! 🤟🏼
@Brian Johnson...How come every time I see a super negative comment on an obviously awesome video it's always from some no content/show no info person??
Stephan St. Claire-Méfret thank you, this is all about repetition, so many of these videos on RUclips and they all have one thing in common, pretty girls, but what's the point?, what band do they play in?
I miss Mia's drum covers the most. Of course, she has gone on to do more important work in her young music career, but looking back at this earlier time, it's still incredible and enjoyable to watch.
While she does know the part obviously. There is a valid point that someone had to cut parts of this video in a reaction due to the exact song being layered over the video audio. Not saying she doesn't know the part for the people who are gonna complain, but it did sound too good considering the original recording was 4 kick drums.
It was his brother's car bub..... Eddie loved cars, I don't recall the exact car. They say Alex duplicated, but I also hear it was a sample from the exhaust to start. I mean, the very first song , running with the devil, starts with car horns... and some trickery with the backward playback...... The opening is not all drums.
I really appreciate the comment and your support. I hope you like variety, I'm all over the place with musical styles and even instruments for that matter :)
Fabulous. One of my favorite drummers and favorite bands. Eddie and Alex were a gift to music. You just nailed that cover. That means you are a gift to music. You've got skills. You've done your homework, lol. 😉 One of my other favorites was the Scorpions. Do you know their music? PS Thanks for the bloopers, glad you didn't poke an eye out.
Thank you very much. I don't know about the Scorpions but I'll check them out. I hit myself a lot more than any non-drummer would think. Drummers are way tougher than the rest of the band :)
Heh.. for a guy like me, who grew up with Scorpions, Van Halen and the likes, it sounds almost surreal that someone who obviously appreciates hard rock hasn't even heard of them. "Wtf.. EVERYBODY knows who the Scorpions are!!!" On the postive side, you have incredible amounts of good music to discover from all those 70's and 80' hard rock bands... and onwards.
WoW, I am impressed! I have been trying to play that song correct for over 30 years now, I gave up long ago. Now I can see exactly how to do it but my brain, hands and feet are still on overload with this one. Fantastic job young lady you make something so hard look so easy!
James Mitchner explained, in his epic "Mexico", why people watch bull fights. 90% of bull fights are just butchery, no sport, no show, just carnage. 8% are passable, a decent show, but you're still rooting for the bull to get a shot in. Another 1% is great, the matador guides the bull, they dance as one to the finale. But that last 1% - something magical happens. The matador, the bull, the outriders, all come together for a stupendous performance and the crowd goes nuts. So why do we watch "covers"? 90% are just garbage, wanna-be's and never-were's. 8% are passable, but still you look for the mistakes. 1% are pretty good, some talent. And then there's this - that 1 in a 10,000 performance that blows you away, makes you cheer for them. Mia, in this performance, was magical.
I obviously appreciate this very, very kind comment but maybe for a less obvious reason. The whole concept of playing covers is something that I certainly have mixed feeling on and I'm sure that won't change but the bull fighting comparison seems surprisingly poignant to me. (Knew what that word meant but did have to check the spelling..) I know what you mean about seeing something that you wouldn't think would be of any interest and then being drawn in by something unexpected. For me, it can be expertise, shock, beauty... many things I guess, but I find that I feel more consistent joy when I'm playing music than anything else I do. Maybe joy is what we all like to see no matter where it's hiding. Thanks for the kind words Bill.
@@peterblood50 We all die. I'd love to die in an entertaining or dramatic way (who wants to die of old age or dementia or a simple heart attack)? I agree though, the bull can't know he dies a noble death. He puts up a brave fight against stacked odds and superior forces but he's not sentient enough to appreciate it.
@@billt8504 Excuse me for being serious for a moment Mia my darlin', but I do not see a correlation between your beautiful music and the (excuse me for being blunt) premeditated murder of a 'dumb' animal. I see your music as flowing from your heart and there is nothing sinister in it. Bill should have never suggested such a gruesome thing in relation to the clean hard work you obviously put in every day. That being said and as inappropriate as the subject is in relation to your music , I feel I must re-butt what Bill has stated as a fact. Bill, how do you know the bull is unaware of it's situation? I suggest that he DOES know he's in a fight for his life and that he is aware of the odds although not in the human 'tactical' or 'strategic' sense. The Bull is slowly killed for the bloodsport of the crowd and, although entertaining and dramatic to the humans watching (if death can be entertaining to normal people), it is not to the bull. It's an undeserved, terrifying, and brutal death at the hands of some very colorful and sadistic humans. Films of wildebeests being attacked by a pride of lions show that they are well aware of their life and death situation AND of the 'odds' against them. Now, if the matador etc. were just counting 'coup' then we would see if the bull could win once in a while. Sorry for the seriousness MIa, Love ya girl.

Omg you're amazing!! I love to see young women playing rock instruments so well now! Especially songs from the 80's!
You do a very good job on the drums keep rocking my friend you rock 👍
Thank you, I'll keep at it (:
@@miamorrismusic your very welcome my friend this brings back very good memories from growing up I'm 46 and we allways jammed to this song in hi school and our principal did to I still do jam to it
Great intro the drums always remind me of a pro drag car at the start line with a narly cam and horse power you nailed it awsooooommm! you are starting to relax more with your fluid movements be the song and not the camera
Yes, I thought is was a motorcycle at first. Thanks for your advise and for taking the time to comment.
+Karl Dupuis Absolute bullshit. None of that is true.
Wow ! She DOES make it look easy.
Loved the outtakes at the end.
Ill have to say, lve watched alot of vids with junior drummers & you are very very good👍👍
Thank you, that means a lot. I know I'll need to lose the, "for a kid" or "for a girl" part for it to matter.
Mia Morris
I agree, thats why l said junior ☺
You realize how hard this drumming is when you see it being played live the double kick is rank awesome job :-)
ha! Thank you for checking it out and for taking the time to comment.
I didn’t think of it either until I saw it done
Every time I listen to one of your songs I have to make a comment...
That sounds like a 1955 Harley Davidson panhead starting up!
I've got a 1955!
Harleys are shit.
Wow!! Cool! Wow!! Cool wow
Wow a 55 Harley panhead starting up sounds like sh*t hitting the wall from a fan. Just sayin... Now, if you had said a shovel.... well...
Damn straight !!!!!
@@geoffpoole483 so is yo momma...
Very very very outstanding my my God almost perfection that's one of my favorite songs they ever did I used to pound the steering wheel while I was working try to keep up with the beat but you did fan Fantastic absolutely great job!
I've been a Van Halen fan since like 1980, and I've gotta say, you NAILED it! Excellent job!
Okaaay sooo You just crushed one of the most iconic rock n roll drum beats of all friggin time and you made it look so effortless. Your type of rare talent should be displayed worldwide! Gosh that was insane. Thank you for this performance!! 💙
Thank you for checking it out and for taking the time to send such a nice comment! I like playing :)
Ralphy Mendiola the beat is not that difficult. Granted. Intro takes a bit of work.
Stephan St. Claire-Méfret thank you, this is all about repetition, so many of these videos on RUclips and they all have one thing in common, pretty girls, but what's the point?, what band do they play in?
Dang girl ur a beast on them drums! U go girl!
Thanks for giving it a chance!
I miss Mia's drum covers the most. Of course, she has gone on to do more important work in her young music career, but looking back at this earlier time, it's still incredible and enjoyable to watch.
I've always thought this drum intro was awesome. And you did it justice!
thank you for giving it a chance and for the nice comment.
Straight Rock'n on them drums! I love this.
Thanks for checking it out.
You go girl! Nothing but talent. Word!
:) That's very kind, thank you.
While she does know the part obviously. There is a valid point that someone had to cut parts of this video in a reaction due to the exact song being layered over the video audio. Not saying she doesn't know the part for the people who are gonna complain, but it did sound too good considering the original recording was 4 kick drums.
Great job!! The drum pattern was Alex Van Halen's attempt to sound like a Harley Davidson's exhaust starting up & idling
@@bradharvy13 what's a car bub?
This girl is a future superstar of the 2020s!
Fantastic job and I love your charisma and personality to boot. Well done!
Thank you very much :D
Very cool young lady! I'm an old guy who remembers when this song came out. Great to see you keeping it alive with style!
crazy wicked talent!! my pearl kit will just sit upstairs :(
:) I've got a pearl kit too, that's what I've been playing lately.
EVH would be proud of your performance. Bravo!
I think you mean Alex.
Alex is a monster, and one of the most underrated drummers.
Because he used to be over Eddie's shadow.
Alex is stone cold fn crazy, very much like Kieth Moon the OG of crazy beat the shit out of your kit icons Alex is right up there
You were great kid, WoW You nailed it. It's good for the Kids from now to listen to real music. Congrats.
Hey Mia that was great! You put the wood to the skins as well as anyone I have ever heard, as a teenager. I just subscribed.
One of my other favorites was the Scorpions. Do you know their music?
PS Thanks for the bloopers, glad you didn't poke an eye out.
Thank you very much. I don't know about the Scorpions but I'll check them out. I hit myself a lot more than any non-drummer would think. Drummers are way tougher than the rest of the band :)
Mia Morris
You got that right.
Scorpions, check out "Winds Of Change" and "Coming Home." You can message me on Instagram and tell me what you think.👍
Heh.. for a guy like me, who grew up with Scorpions, Van Halen and the likes, it sounds almost surreal that someone who obviously appreciates hard rock hasn't even heard of them.
"Wtf.. EVERYBODY knows who the Scorpions are!!!"
On the postive side, you have incredible amounts of good music to discover from all those 70's and 80' hard rock bands... and onwards.
@@miamorrismusic RIP Eddie. 😭
You leave me for dead. My new hero.
Ha! thank you :]
WoW, I am impressed! I have been trying to play that song correct for over 30 years now, I gave up long ago. Now I can see exactly how to do it but my brain, hands and feet are still on overload with this one. Fantastic job young lady you make something so hard look so easy!
Damn girl!!! Way to go! That’s some fine work.
Thanks you very much!
@@miamorrismusic yes playing making music..much much better than some things you could be doing.. good job.. more please!
Bill T:
Not such a great show for the bull though. Whether it's a good or bad show is irrelevant when you're the one dying at the end of it.
@@billt8504
Excuse me for being serious for a moment Mia my darlin', but I do not see a correlation between your beautiful music and the (excuse me for being blunt) premeditated murder of a 'dumb' animal.
“I don’t feel tardy.”
You are very talented your up there with Jen ledger awesome job
How many of you come here after AGT ❤❤❤✋
I have no idea how you figured that track out... but it sounds amazing. I can’t believe how quickly your drumming has improved from just a couple years ago. I guess I should practice more🤪...
Ha! this one was a grind. I've been working on it off and on for a few months. It's was hard to decipher what was going on and even harder to get it up to speed. Thanks for always taking the time.
+Mia Morris . i love mia.
"Nailed it" is an understatement.
😳😳😳 Mia - I remember when this song came out. And yes, this is one of the harder drum solo's to cover. But I also know what sounds good to my ears, and this is absolutely NAILED!! Alex Van Halen should
and would be proud of you! Congrats again for an excellent piece of drum work! 👍
in 5 years, she'll be playing this with just a pencil and a bucket.
UNREAL!!!!
SERIOUSLY!
This is a very complicated and technical song to play!
Well done Mia!
