When was a boy growing up in the 1970s. Jaguar cars were special and you could spot one from a mile away. Today they juat blend in with most other vehicles on the road !. Their golden period is 😔 sadly now long in the past..........
I would agree - I think the later XJ/XF models were quite stand out when they were new, and I quite like the impact but the ePace / fPace are really very bland indeed
@@automotivetales if Jaguar had a good product to sell, then maybe the rebrand could be overlooked, but there is no amount of rebranding that can compensate for a crap product.

Welcome aboard! I am genuinely interested and I recognise that the world isn’t about me - it’s likely that Jaguar are after a target audience that don’t romance about ICE, who don’t care for exhaust notes and slick gearshifts (ie not me!), but want EV products that are cool. And I suspect that might work for them.
@@automotivetales Thanks :) I'm just amused at how angry so many youtubers are about an advert :-) the ad is on the face of it quite a poor united colours of benneton tribute but its the wafty androgyny fuelling that seems to be the main 'shouty talking point' for a lot of people (many of the not even automotive adjacent) rather than the lack of artistic merit. your more reasoned approach is a much better watch 🙂 i hope that the follow up works out for jaguar, I'm not the target audience either though as i only have a broken £500 stype sitting outside growing moss! i do know someone that has seen one of the new models and they said it was pretty cool looking. they are nda'ed up the wazzoo so that's all I got out of them!
Interesting! I genuinely couldn’t tell you if I’ve seen one or not here… they sort of blend in to all the other SUVs but I can’t recall seeing a single one recently… maybe they are all hiding in Cumbria? 🤣
Confused message from the marketing people, it’s a pity the I pace didn’t cut it. It was a superb EV and certainly personified Grace, Pace and Space. They’re going to need to be very very good to compete with the Chinese brands, Tesla and even the electric Mercedes and Audis. I fear for the brand as since Ian Callum left they seem to have lost their way. Land Rover is so successful that they’d probably be better converting the Jaguar factories to produce Land rovers if they can’t make em fast enough
Converting the factories would certainly help with Defender backlogs… we know so little yet that maybe that’s the plan and the new car could be a collab with a Chinese brand like Audi have just done 🤷♂️
I would have branded it with James bond or mission impossible. Or remake 50 shades of grey with better actors. Men in black? Knight rider? Iron mans car? The new bat mobile? Telly tubby car? Nope.
