WOW!!! I've been making leather bags for over twenty years, and removing the teeth has been such a trial. The zipper tape always gets snagged. Never looked good, yet sewing across the teeth never looked good either. Sure sign of an amateur. Using cutting nippers required so much force it became a nightmare, not to mention the broken teeth flying in my face. Very excited to see these tools. Your videos are so good, so very good.
Hey Laura!! Thanks so much! Yes, for a quick and handy tool they make a big difference. Practice a few times when you get them and I promise you will quickly pickup the technique! Hope they help!
That’s amazing! Removing the the zipper teeth is the least favorite thing i wanna do in the bag making. I use to have a plier to do that, and yeah sometimes it broke the tape in the process.
I just ordered one of these tools on Amazon. I need it to remove the teeth on the zipper on the back pockets of a pair of shorts. I never zip the pockets close and the teeth are really rough on my fingers when trying to reach into my back pockets for my phone or wallet. I have no idea why the manufacturer thought it was a good idea to have a back pocket that zips close with metal zipper teeth.
I always buy zippers that fit my opening. I go to a fabric store that has them in just about all strengths, colors and sizes you could want. I never learned how to take zippers apart and then reconstruct them, just have never seen a video with the particulars.

Yes, being able to use a mallet makes it a lot more fun!
Yes! It can be a hatchet job if you not careful! Even if you are! These tools help out quite a bit!

Do you have this in larger sizes? Like #15? Would be so helpful
We only go up to #10 right now to match the selection of zipper we have available, sorry.
I need a 4.5 for YKK zippers
Do you have one of them or where can I get one can you tell me
Sorry, we don't make them in half mm increments. If you cannot find ones that size though the 4mm or 5mm may still work.
Wonderful
Thanks!

Thanks for the comments, Mountain Fisher!
