I remember watching this as a kid and to this day this episode has always stuck with me. Her story is devastating and to imagine 6 million people were murdered simply for being Jewish. There are no words. She's right. "If only we could stop hating each other."
The actress wasn't a holocaust survivor, but her story is that of Elizabeth Mann who allowed the writers to tell her story. This is my favorite episode, and it turns out that it was the boy who brought her there for his report's favorite episode too.
Correct. But this actress was actually born in a concentration camp. She was only a few months old when the war ended. So she is a survivor as well, but not the survivor whose story she told.
It always bothers me that there are very ignorant people who say the death camps never happened it pisses me off because there were survivors who lived to tell their story i myself have met a survivor when i was really young a gentleman and his sister were the only ones who survived in their family out of 8 kids its making me cry as i type this comment but it broke my heart when he told me when they came here to the united states they converted to being catholics because they were afraid either the nazis would come looking for them or our country would adopt ghe same tyoes of measures they lived in fear for so long still sends chills down my spine this was when i was 7 im 32 now and i remember every detail about that mans story and seeing his tattoo ill never forget it
This was a powerful 7th Heaven episode. This is a true story. She lost her whole family like so many others had done. "If only we could stop hating each other....if only....." Please STOP hating each other!!!!!
Wow I do remember watching this episode I love 7th heaven so much this one brought tears to my eyes Poor Jews can’t imagine the pain and the suffering they all went through can’t imagine what a great word of advice got to seriously stop hating one another and start loving.😔
It is kind of ironic to watch this video, where she ends with a plea that we stop hating each other, and then read all these ignorant and hate-filled comments.
Wow Elisabeth Mann was liberated in Denmark and then ended up in Sweden one of the countries that took in and saved the most jews. I am Swedish so that make me very proud. She met her husband in Sweden and they later moved to America in 1955.
Even though Mrs. Kerjesz is telling the story of Holocaust survivor, Elisabeth Mann, the actress who portrayed Mrs. Kerjesz, Rita Zoharm, is also a Holocaust survivor
I remember watching this in school and we were all in complete shock. One thing is too sure God was holding her tight in His arms because she was the last of her family He wanted her to be the one to tell the story He had a great shield protecting her *If only we could stop hating eachother." If I were Simon's teach I would most definitely given him an A+ he would deserve it
@@christinadoxstader3004 God gave Mankind free will, and very seldom interferes with our decisions. He suffers when we turn to evil, but whispers to us trying to lead us back to doing good. There are those who listen and do His bidding - people like Oskar Schindler, Raoul Wallenberg, Irena Sendler among many others - are blessed, and some have been declared saints. Yet there will always be people who do not worship God and, if they cannot make others to share their beliefs, will settle for making them hate God, blaming Him for Mankind's suffering.
Have a look at those reactions. Those are real, there is no way they did this in more than one take. They needed real emotion. The boy whose father said the Holocaust wasn't real....look what he does, he flicks his father's hand away...almost like it was instinctive....
That is even if they got that far. As she alluded to, children under 15, mothers of these children, the disabled, the elderly, and those who did not have skills specific to something “useful” were sent to die immediately.
WRONG! Eric Camden does NOT have Jewish hatred, he just objects to Matt's marriage because Matt got married so soon after meeting Sarah (actually in fact they secretly married on their first date) and he was concerned about how they would bridge the cultural and religious differences which is a valid concern that has nothing to do with Jewish hatred or anti-Semitism!!
Wrong again. Many Jewish people came to this country to escape these horrors, leaving behind their families and friends. Saying a Jewish person was not affected by the Holocaust is like saying a Black person in this country wasn't affected by slavery, Jim Crow and the 1960's Civil rights movement.
I remember seeing this as a child, but her words, "If only we could stop hating each other; if only..." stuck with me even until adulthood.
I've never seen or heard of this show before. Why is the boy at 2.56 taking the hand of, presumably his Father, off his shoulder?
@Kosmos de Kosmopoliet Total casualties: 17,775-20,775 Palestinians .
The best we can do is start with ourselves. We can't control others, after all.
@@stephenroney3630 A little late on this but that kid's father is a holocaust denier. We find this out earlier in the episode
Ironically, the ones that say that, are the ones with the most hatred in their hearts!

I cried when I first saw this!! I knew from her emotions that this wasn't written for the show and that she was the real deal.

The most saddest part of her story when she said "The only way oit aushwitz was through the chimney " that sent shivers and brought tears to my eyes.
I started rewatching the show and saw this episode today and cried like a baby and I am 31 yrs old no shame
Same here
I'm 36, and I cried heavily. No shame.

Certainly a very powerful and emotional episode

The depravity that humans can inflict on each other… Never forget.
What a story. So sad Simon better have gotten an A! It’s incredible how he built enough trust with her to open up to him and his class
*tears falling down my cheeks*
Same.
It is kind of ironic to watch this video, where she ends with a plea that we stop hating each other, and then read all these ignorant and hate-filled comments.
It's like I say, there's not much we can do about others. Best to just ourselves love others.

It was her mother and brother that made me cry
For the topic of this episode -- namely "Hatred", people who are like that just makes me both mad & sick.
My PAPA Served in WWII Against the Nazis he was in the Army he was infantry
It’s is so true though if only we could stop hating eachother things could be alittle better for us

I am so very sorry for what happened to your people. The Jewish community. I love ❤️ all God’s children. 🙏🥰😢📦

They need to show this to the crazed lunatics that are marching at the university these days
I wonder if Charlotte is nervous to present in front of Simon's class.
Sadly in some parts of the world it's still happening. Yet parts of the world stand United against it
This was just sad

The real life story of survivor Elisabeth Mann. Look her up
I like this show I little girl
Ironically the ones that say “If we would only stop hating each other” are the ones with the most hatred in them!
But she's not a Paliswine.
The Nazis' anti-Semitism didn't begin with the death camps. It began with using words like you just used. Take heed.
Eric Camden true Jewish hatred is shown later when his older son marries a jewish woman

Modern American Christians would be so offended now if their show dared suggests the holocaust happened.
