And people said I was crazy thinking that mgs2 was showing where we were heading with technology, philosophy and information control now look at things like, Facebook, Google, apple and many others it's worrying lol
How many Metal Gear fans are here because of what’s going on with Russia and Ukraine? Maybe hideo kojima left some predictions in his games. MGS 1 is a great masterpiece with the voice acting. Definitely Learned a little bit about nuclear weapons with this game. 😎
I'm from Ukraine. I've actually found great relief replaying whole franchise in the order of timeline (between air raid alarms). There are few comments: Mgs 2 is where its at. First bot attack / ai control - then take over a nation with military power. In mgs 5 there are NO civilians. Now you know why (either killed or driven out of their homes)
@@micindir4213lol, apparently like most Ukrainians you don’t know history at all. Most civilians were evacuated from Afghanistan when the conflict started. And in the MGSV itself, you could listen to Russians commanders briefings where they say that avoiding civilians casualties is essentially a priority and soldiers absolutely must not hurt any civilians or the said commander would “kill who did this” himself or something like that
This is such a great lesson, and was very enlightening while playing through it around the age of 12. The entirety of the game but its allusions to START, DARPA, and other agencies I didn't even know existed that young, particularly...This speech on deterrence I have always remembered. Isn't there another dialog in deterrence in MGS2, or 3? My memory escapes me...

In the face of all this NATO expansion, Russia might feel the need to flex their nuclear muscles... ..if only to show NATO that, even with their aging arsenal and diminished army, they are still a major power." Even if the signs where there of ultranationalist faction. That still doesnt make it okay to dictate what other countries should do or not to do. I mean all this political theory has been discussed and explored since the cold war. The genius here is how well he conveyed this theory and condensed into into such an amazing game. It helped spread the ideas to more people.
Natasha talks about regional conflicts between ethnic groups, religious groups, etc. increasing the risk of tactical nuke use. Here we are in late 2022 with Putin, the head of a large country, threatening tactical nukes. She was right about Russia flexing its nuclear muscles in the face of NATO, though. Amazing how we had a Cold War pause for about 20-30 years (nearly all of my 34 years) and here we are again. Did it ever really end? Maybe we were naive to think so.
She writes a novel about Shadow Moses you can read in MGS2. It has some information you might find pertinent. She doesn't show up afterwards because she's in hiding.
Unlike Mei Ling, Colonel and Naomi, Nastasha have to hide on the other side of the world in some country in order to avoid being hunt down by both the US and Russian agent. While the rest of the Shadow Moses survivor is either joined/secretly support the philantropy or joined the UN.
She probably wasn't relevant anymore since she was only called in for the "probable nuclear threat" relevant to the Shadow Moses incident as part of the nuclear emergency search team, etc etc. There probably wasn't a good way for the writers to make her relevant in any other game. I do love that voice though
Very relevant to this day. It may explain why nukes happens in countries you dont like it to happen too. If nukes was reduced or eliminated way more, most likely it wouldnt get in hands of others

I have played and listened to the codec calls it's very matrix inspired the way Agent Smith talk's to Morpheus in the first film during the interrogation, if you wanna play around with reality give Snake posttraumatic stress disorder, confuse the player to the point were you don't know wether you're the good or bad guy. The whole codec call sequence at federal hall is like a long cut scene with no sense of interaction, what's fun about that?

MGS2 was made during the days of Project Echelon - anybody and his dog could have known by then that everybody was being spied on all the time - you didn't need Edward Snowden to tell you that 12 years later. MGS4 is far beyond that still and show wars will be waged a couple of years from now by the Pentagon and the defense contractors.

So you would rather say that the annoying Fortune Boss fight and the sniper fight of vamp which bare's no purpose are forms of art? I understand perfectly what they were trying to achieve, with Raiden as a substitute for you as the player. MGS1 had a theme and a smart one, now if a game has great story that means that it's likely to work better as a film than a game. The game medium should be interactive storytelling because it make's you the player more involved, the way The End could be taken out in MGS3 was interactive storytelling with a theme. And what made the first mgs1 so great was the 4th wall breaks allmost none of these can be seen in MGS2. Sons of liberty had alot of potential but ultimately felt unfinished and poor
