- Using my Spey rod to attempt to floss sockeye on the skeena river. The pink sun was huge this year and the action was non-stop!

Beautiful spot hey! We call it paradise! Our dogs love going to say “Hi!” to everyone. If you have a treat, Bruiser would be your best friend. Poppy is just overly friendly. Fishing is better in the point so I hear…you just got to get there early.
Such a sweet surprise to be greeted by some friendly pups on the river. Thanks for the tip 👍
Great job guys!
Great videos, guys! Is this at New Hazelton, campground area? It looks like where I have fished.
This is new hazleton yes. Good eye!
Where is this on the skeena?
has there been much for steelhead yet
I’ve heard of a few people hooking up. Other than that not much yet
thank you!!@@kilbOutdoors
Anytime 👍
My opinion is to keep a pink. Depending where you are allowed 2 and only one sockeye
Did you say you were switching your line because you are “flossing”? How un ethical. Fishing is being good with presentation, tackle, hookset , playing and landing. Flossing is snagging !!!
I respect your opinion but I’m gonna have to disagree with you on that one. First of all, I totally agree that enticing the fish, picking the bait and presentation and getting the fish to grab it is a much more exciting and rewarding way to fish. However with species like Sockeye, which aren’t known to be aggressive or feed while in the river systems, flossing is an effective way to catch them. It is “snagging” but they have to be “snagged” in the mouth for it to be a legal fish and that still takes some skill, time and effort. Flossing is for sure a different and less strategic way to fish at times but I still consider it fishing. Thanks for the comment and enjoy your time on the water ❤️🤙
