Thanks for taking me fishing PS try covering you're holes you may get a pleasant surprise
I get skunked everytime there, beauty fish🤙🏻
Ya it can be a tough lake sometimes Fs. Thank you man 🤙
Wierdest thing, I had a feelin' I'd be coming home to a Kilb video tonight...thanks and another great video!
Haha that’s awesome man I’ll keep em coming for ya 🤙🤙. Glad you like the vids 😁
Sweet video gotta love brookies
Thank you man I appreciate it. The coloured spots blow my mind every single time 🤘
I know of 2 bridges there and is the one you are on able to keep the 2 sockeye?
The amount of sockeye you can keep depends on the season. There isn’t a base amount you can keep. When it’s open it usually starts with 1 sockeye per day and then can reach 2 sockeye per day depending how many salmon have gone up already
@kilbOutdoors I am aware run a page for the lowermainland. Based on updates may try on the way back. Depending on Terrace or if I don't wish to travel that far
You can't beat those crisp, Bulkley Valley and central interior nights! Good to see you back out there Kilb, happy New Year!
Can’t be beaten! Thank brotha 🤙 happy new years to you too
Beautiful Marcus
Thank ya brotha 🤙
Great videos, guys! Is this at New Hazelton, campground area? It looks like where I have fished.
This is new hazleton yes. Good eye!
nice
What rod you using in this one? And MH or M? Cheers
That rod is a heavy Diawa combo
Nice! Around Prince George and Terrace, my go to's have always been the wine coulored leech and brown or tan Doc Spratley.
Doc Spratley is a classic and I’ve used it lots with great success. The wine - leech however I haven’t tried so Mabye I’ll give that a whirl 😁
have you considered getting a fordable kayak? definitely an interesting solution you have, but also seems kinda dangerous
I have considered that but I love how compact it can pack down too and how light it is. I also love the feeling of being so low in the water and being able to interact easily with the fish and still keep them wet. and it is honestly quite safe. I should have a life jacket but sadly I forgot in this video
I have only ever gone ice fishing on klinger lake is it ever really good summer fishing.
It can be super good! This is a poor example because I didn’t have much time in the water but I’ve had great days there. I have previous videos fly fishing klinger you could check out
where in bc?
Bulkley valley
I see this happening in Campbell River and it makes me crazy. Friggen tourists
Ya it’s certainly a topic that needs educating haha
Love how you got the northern lights in there too and you got some pretty nice coho bro and we got to go fishing together soon
Thanks man! I loved the northern lights too 🤘. And ya we gotta go for sure man!
Very nice video. Do you have any recommendations for any rivers? I'm thinking of going on Friday this week for chinook and coho.I am living in Vancouver
To be honest I don’t know the Vancouver river systems at all but I would recommend Mabye finding the mouth of some rivers or just hiking some river and looking for pools. Make sure to check the regulations in your area and see what rivers are open… Mabye some RUclips videos for rivers in your area 🤷🏼♂️. Good luck and thanks for the comment 🤘
Nice catches! And you're a Nissan guy so I like your channel even more!
I am now! Loving the pathfinder 🤘👌
Put more line on that reel bruh, there's like 20 feet
Ya that was my crappy old rod for pink salmon at the time, basically no line at all haha
Pinks are disgusting they are dogfood
What date were you there? Thinking of this week or the end of the week going
i have the same fly tying set
The cabelas setup is so good for such a basic set 🤙
Love the look on your face
Haha ya pretty funny
Nice fish but use a net. 😂
Did you say you were switching your line because you are “flossing”? How un ethical. Fishing is being good with presentation, tackle, hookset , playing and landing. Flossing is snagging !!!
I respect your opinion but I’m gonna have to disagree with you on that one. First of all, I totally agree that enticing the fish, picking the bait and presentation and getting the fish to grab it is a much more exciting and rewarding way to fish. However with species like Sockeye, which aren’t known to be aggressive or feed while in the river systems, flossing is an effective way to catch them. It is “snagging” but they have to be “snagged” in the mouth for it to be a legal fish and that still takes some skill, time and effort. Flossing is for sure a different and less strategic way to fish at times but I still consider it fishing. Thanks for the comment and enjoy your time on the water ❤️🤙
Awesome fish! But why did your buddy seem so annoyed
Next time, extend the rod behind your back, to bring the fish closer to you, while letting the rod absorb any lunges the fish might make. Grabbing the line is the worst thing you could do.
That’s good advice. Thank you!
05:20 so fresh one!
Thanks for the video, im a branch manager for the company that made your red pen, keep up the great job sir.
Is there public access to the Babine River? @kilboutdoors
Where is this on the skeena?
So good at fishing
That is amazing
Thank you ❤️
I wpuld rather have the net break on me then lose a fish like that. If there is one thing i've learned fishing, only grab the line if you want to lose the fish
Ya I should’ve known a lot better
@kilbOutdoors you live and you learn. That's why we keep fishing. To catch a bigger one
Exactly 🤙
Use the net
Grab the line💪
Wasn’t my smartest move but the net wasn’t working either hahah
Bro had the net for what😭💀 some people man🤦
Bro for real I was thinking the same thing 😭
Net was too small for that one. Probably Would’ve been better to just stick its head in or something. Pretty bad landing job by me for sure tho.. got a little to excited
Danmm. What a fish!!!
Thanks brotha 🤙
Great vid Kilb. Brings back some wonderful memories of my years in Prince George. Slipping into the neoprene waders and paddling around in the belly boat every chance I got. Ice off was prime as well as they were hungry, feisty and delicious from a winter diet of scuds.
Thanks! It’s pretty hard to beat getting out on the water and landing some beautiful fish 😌
Excellent job and loved the double header.is the boat still there?
The boat is still there yes 👍
Good times on a tube. Those are some solid brookies. This time of year is perfect for keeping a thick female. New sub.
On a lake like that I would be taking one home
Not the lake name but what area in BC?
Bulkley valley
@@kilbOutdoors thanks been looking at living in that area
Sickk 🤙🤙🤙
Yessir
What fly do you use mate ?
@SwampFeathers the left rod was an egg sucking leach and the right side was an olive cone head wooly bugger
Badass video man!
Thanks!! Love the encouragement 🤙🤙
Casually smokes my pb brookie without even paying attention 😂😂
Caught me off guard for sure haha
Banger vid
Thank you brotha
I always ask for help. For release a net always help and if on shore will no hurt the fish compared to draging it on shore. Also a lot harder on your own
I think chum are good eating. Might be going up there this summer.
Sweet man! I’ve kept a number of chum and haven’t had any issues with taste. As always, the fresher the better 🤪
I have such a hard time finding them in northern bc
It can be pretty hard especially depending on the area. I’ve spent hours walking in areas full of fresh sign and not seen any sign of life.
Just gotta put the steps in and keep the eyes sharp
@@kilbOutdoors I am in the Bulkley valley, but moved here almost 5 years ago from ontario.
@joegolf14 sweet! There a good amount of hates around here for sure 👍
