It always intrigues me why an angler who casts right handed ends up playing the fish with his weakest hand and worse has to constantly change hands to wind the line in. Fish with the right hand, wind with the left surely - nothing else makes sense. Proper handling of the fish was nice to see - well done.

I use mono running line as distance casting is an important factor on that pool. When you pull in the mono with your left hand it tangles around the reel handle if it’s on the left. Also my grandfather taught me to fly fish with the reel handle on the right and it’s stuck with me all my life.

@@bollob9777 might I suggest that mono running line probably wasn’t around in your Grandfather’s time so he was making life difficult for himself as well!
As a right handed person ( same as yourself I presume) I have never wanted to keep crossing hands to wind in the line during the fight and regardless of the mono line argument, I think I would try to find a way of sorting that particular problem at any cost.

(addendum to my previous reply)- I’m unlikely to change your methodology and I wish you well in your fishing exploits - tight lines.

Tight lines to yourself as well. It is a tough one. I do see the sense in left hand wind but suspect it’s too late for me to change even though I wind left handed with spinning reels. Maybe I’ll make a resolution to try left hand wind when trout fishing and will see if I can make the conversion. Cheers
