For those who are curious but dont want to search for it, here is the text to "The Crosses Grow on Anzio":
Oh, gather 'round me, comrades; and
      listen while I speak
Of a war, a war, a war where hell is
      six feet deep.
Along the shore, the cannons roar. Oh
      how can a soldier sleep?
The going's slow on Anzio. And hell is
      six feet deep.
Praise be to God for this captured sod that
      rich with blood does seep.
With yours and mine, like butchered
swine's; and hell is six feet deep.
      That death awaits there's no debate;
      no triumph will we reap.
The crosses grow on Anzio, where hell is
      six feet deep.

Audie Murphy was the guy that made the country realize that PTSD wasn't the result of a lack of fortitude or cowardice. You can't very well call the most decorated soldier the U.S. Army has ever produced a coward so when he spoke out that there were very real mental costs to sending men off to war, people definitely listened.

Not only that, the dude was a actual action hero. The dude has committed so many acts of heroism that when they started making a movie on his exploits, hollywood told him to tone it down because a lot of it just seemed so unbelievable... until they got the first hand accounts of his fellow soldiers who actually saw the dude do shit like jump on a burning wreckage of a tank to man the turret to mow down enemy soldiers, or him running straight into a enemy machine gun encampment, killing a handful and capturing the rest... all because he saw his friend got mowed down even though the people in the encampment had pretended to surrender.

As a Texan myself, Audie Murphy is one of my personal heroes. The man was a living legend. I'm surprised all the metal on his chest didn't make him fall over, bro was a TWIG of a man but an absolute BADASS. He volunteered for the marines, they said no. Navy said no. Army said no. All because he was so small. Eventually though, his persistence paid off. And then his glory began. He had MALARIA through most of his service and STILL was an absolute badass. He got hooked on drugs when he came home and locked himself in a motel room for a week and got OVER it. He played himself in a biopic where they cut things out because they thought audiences wouldn't BELIEVE IT...
I'm also of Polish descent, and if you don't react to Uprising Imma riot

i remember watching the video a while back, i love listening to Sabaton and usually i enjoy watching there amazing high quality videos because they are all on a whole another level but i struggled watching this one and had to look a way for certain scenes (the bug scenes and the gun scenes) where the second group of scenes is because i lost several friends to suicide. at the same time i also love that they put this out despite how unkomfortable it makes me because mental health issues, not only comming from serving in a war but also in general are not talked enough in public to be recognized as a thing that happens to people by the general population. While we also need Informative videos, something like this that gives general attention to it is something i love to see if its done right because im dealing with mental health issues on a regular basis and i feel like i cant ask other for advice since nobody besides me that i know has made experience with it and could help me out. I cant wait for the day where videos like this and all others that show mental health issues correctly how they are help raising enough awareness so it gets the attention and dediction we need to properly deal with it. For example none of the people i lost to suicide despite them all living in the same country as me where able to find a mental health expert or if the had one it was a bad person that made them stop seeking help, which reminds me i will never understand why people get in to a mental health related job if they hate dealing with mental health and just end up causing even more harm which often is very difficult or impossible to undo later on.

First time I watched the video I felt it was a bit on the nose and overly dramatic, but when I thought about it I realized that it was just me trying to downplay how it really feels to be in these positions. The video is raw and doesn't hold back and it is very realistic, another youtuber who suffers from PTSD mentioned the "sitting in a corner with your back against the wall" to be something only someone with PTSD would understand the gravity of but that everyone suffering from PTSD has found themself in that exact same position. No matter if you have PTSD or "just" regular depression, there is help to get, and you aren't alone in your experiences, so please get the help you can even if it is hard or you feel that you do not deserve the help.

I'd like to see your reaction to Nothing More's God Went North and Jenny. Bring your tissues. God Went North is a song the singer wrote for his mother as she was terminally ill with cancer, and it was recorded shortly after she passed. The song Jenny is about the mental issues and addiction suffered by his sister and aunt, and God Went North gives a little background to that song. Powerful music.

The "memory" or backstory part is actually supposed to be the actual guy, during his acting career, if you compare it to his photo at the end.
PS .someone was assigned this person for a backstory-tag, for Sabaton's cover of Motorhead's 1916 video.

Yes, but please not the official music video! Live is so much better, or the one with footage from Saving private Ryan, fanmade.

Check out Christmas Truce! Saboton has no one bad song, Their mantra, Lest We Forget! Bismarck, Night Witches ( another animated video), Attack of the Dead Men. Saboton has a history channel called simply, Saboton History it tells the history behind the songs. Guaranteed if Saboton History was taught in our schools we would all be historians. They are not political they sing of sacrifices of ordinary soldiers in war. Rock On Stay Safe! Happy Holidays!🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

I think it took some time to realise that humans were not meant for that kind of mechanized war.
It was so impersonal and yet dozens of men could die from some a$$hole pushing a button.
War used to be fought between armies that clearly saw each other. Putting these guys through days long artilley bombardment and gas attacks ... it seems more like a crime against humanity
