Curious how everyone just creates a new species immediately. Why not migrate everything from the first ocean container, and immediately kickstart the Cambrian Explosion?
The rulebook says: "Every species forages or attacks for 1 if they don’t have any red or green icons on their traits." Jon mentioned it when foraging for the first time but didn't mention it when attacking with the Tentacled species.
A game I narrowly avoided backing. Now that its out in retail I still haven't picked it up. I feel like the space for 'mean' games in my shelf is taken up by the likes of ROOT so can't justify this being on the shelf. Shame cause I love the theme and art.
I suppose it's technically a 'mean' game insofar as you can have animals attack other player's animals. But especially how the different abilities work with each other, it's often a better play to set up a symbiotic circle within your own species and not be dependent upon other players; it's really up to the players themselves to determine how 'mean' the game becomes.
Ha, well thanks! It's something I've been actively working on. I didn't used to think I talked fast at all, but now when I go back and watch something like my Scythe playthrough it's speed and energy makes me cringe.
@@JonGetsGames I'm glad you've slowed down. I used to avoid your videos because I used to find them hard to follow I subscribed to you earlier this year once I realised how much things had changed.
I have this game coming in the mail as we speak. Thanks for the playthrough!
Thank you so much Jon, very informative as usual. Now to go watch the extended play!
Last player advantage isn't something you normally see! Interesting...
Agreed, I was surprised when I saw it at first but it does make sense.

How can Tentacled Attack with No attack symbol?

You need a justification? What will you do if you have new people over and don't want to teach Root?
@@cobtyrannon2479 then we'll play one of the MANY OTHER GAMES on the shelf. Don't need to own everything. Curation above collection.

Do these fish have magnetic noses?
Nope, they are standard cardboard pieces.
@@JonGetsGames So, not an angling game. Missed opportunity!
You've slowed down substantially since early videos. I thought you were on seditives.
