  • If you forgot how the Quadrajet secondary air valve cam should be installed, in this video I cover its positioning (so it is not installed backward), plus how it operates properly to actuate the secondary metering rods.

    P.S. This procedure applies to 702, 704, 1705, and 1708 Rochester Quadrajet carburetors. I am not 100% sure if Quadrajets carbs made by Carter use the same or similar system, but i think they do.

    I was fortunate enough to get an Edelbrock 1904 QuadraJet, I thought I was fortunate, the aluminum wasn't even close to being the same quality, my secondaries quit working almost immediately, the screw that locked the adjustment actually fell out, along with the aluminum threads, the first time it was rejetted, 4 of the torx screws came out with the threads, etc, etc, etc. I met 3 others with the same issues, after adding a whole ton of inserts and using washers, it's up to par, but still nowhere near Rochester quality. Great information on this channel, the best carburetor to use
