"We were drinking at the Carlson house one night, and Lars turned on the tape deck: "Listen to this, man. Fostex Multitrack Mesa/Boogies with James playing the heaviest riff ever!" It was the main riff to 'Master of Puppets', which had been quadrupled on all four tracks and sounded super heavy. And I knew it immediately as this joke riff that James would always play on the D string. He just dropped it down to the low E string and it was suddenly this whole other thing." - Kirk Hammett.
For me their top 10 riffs are from The Four Houremen, Motorbreath, Seek and Destroy, Metal Militia, Fade to Black, Creeping Death, Damage Inc, Battery, All Nightmare Long and Dyers Eve
I feel the most satisfying Metallica song to play for me was fade to black or creeping death but I play bass either way good job on the songs you picked don't matter what any of us think. Keep it up.
Yeah, it's not as iconic as their old stuff and I was about to record Fade To Black instead of Hardwired, but I eventually decided to also pay tribute to their newer releases.
"HAMMETT: I’ll tell you how the main [descending] riff to “Master of Puppets” came about. On the Ride the Lightning tour, James would always play the riff in the dressing room, but on the D string, and I’d play it simultaneously on the G string as a parallel-fourths harmony line. It sounded really dorky and funny. Then one day at rehearsal, James said, “Let me show you this really heavy song intro,” and proceeded to play that exact riff on the low E string. I said, “Ah, so you finally found a use for that dorky little thing!” It’s anything but dorky now."
I just discovered your channel, I really like it :) could you do Shake Me by Cinderella and "Ten Iconic Queensryche Riffs from the first 3 albums" (Mini LP, The Warning and Rage for Order)? Thank you so much

Agreed however for me replace all nightmare long, Dyer's eve, Motorbreath with Master of Puppets, One, Harvester of sorrow
Blackened is better than any of these
@@captaincam0730 I love Master of Puppets and One is a materpiece, but I listened to them too many times and get tired
@@adrianbs7a yeah I feel you
@@JohnnyRaven69 the Blackened riffs aren't really that wow for me. Still amazing tho
Nice work man, Metallica has so many iconic riffs… so hard to choose from. Cheers from 🇩🇪

Bat But True.
I kind of like how those go with each other at the start
Hardwired is great but i don't think it's iconic enough

@@KevinBalke most recognized from their newer stuff.
it should be though
Give it 10 years
Spit out the bones for me is iconic 😍
Another banger of a video. Maybe could you do some riffs off the new Rammstein album?
I already did videos on Zick Zack and Zeit, but I'm happy to do more, sure!
I love these videos

In the beginning, I was preparing for Back In Black
