I had to get a new food processor but can’t wait to try Chef AJ’s new recipes. I stumbled on your video and I will continue watching. This video was so sweet. What dance video are you exercising too!
My mom used to steam all veggies and would still make us drink the leftover water, which was usually around 1/2 cup. I can still taste it. I still do it because I can't throw away nutrients.
I really like listen to her channel because the videos are long like car-trip length. I will check out her website and see if my local library have her books. Veggies for breakfast and snacks are so good. In Vietnamese cuisine we boil vegetables a lot, eat the vegetables with a savory dish like braised tofu and use the boiled liquid to pour over rice to finish up, “ pot liquor,” that’s fun 😋😊
Thanks for your video. I always eat the skin on my sweet potatoes. I scrub them very well before I cook them and if there’s any really ugly spot so I might cut them out.
Yeah I usually eat russet, red, or yukon gold with the skin, and if I make sweet potato fries, I'll eat the skin. But I just don't like the texture on baked sweet potatoes. But if you like it, it's definitely a great way to avoid food waste and get some extra nutrients!
Hi Wendy 🤗 This was a fun video 🤩I must say I just love Japanese sweet potatoes. They are my cycling food of choice. While everyone else buys pastries and cookies at the coffee stop, I eat my slices of baked Japanese sweet potatoes. To me they taste like a slice of moist, sweet, vanilla cake!LOL These are easy on my stomach especially on longer rides. During the rides I will eat a few medjool dates if I feel I need some extra energy. I just remove the pits and wrap them in a small square of parchment paper for easy eating. I reuse the parchment squares several times until they rip or get way too sticky.
👍I finally found red lentils at a local grocery, so I may make the recipe tomorrow. Overall, very simplistic and looked good. Great to see you and your videos - uplifting 🙂

Found you today, Show Me MO. Enjoying a few of your videos; we eat same. Will explore more. Please, can you recommend the weight vest you wear while walking? I too walk quite a bit and could use extra weight to strengthen my muscles/bones. Have been thinking about such an addition to my workouts. Thank you!
Hi there! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos. If you're not used to using a weighted vest, I'd recommend checking with your doctor or a personal trainer to choose the correct weight for you. But here's a link to the one I have. Mine can be adjusted from 4 to 10 pounds: amzn.to/4eiw8Zp (I am an amazon affiliate, so I may earn a small commission if you purchase through my link).
Wonderful video, fellow Missourian! Can you please tell us more about the weighted vest for walks? What weight did you start with and brand or link please? Is it comfortable to wear and walk?
Hello Missouri friend! There are lots of different vests out there, but the one I got is unisex and can go from 4 lbs to 10 lbs (they also have options for heavier vests). If you're not used to using one, I'd recommend checking with your doctor and starting with a low weight at first. If you search online there are recommendations for how to choose a weight for your body and activity level, but again work with a doctor or personal trainer to help find the best weight for you. Here's a link to the one I have, and as an amazon affiliate, I may earn a small commission if you purchase through my link: amzn.to/4eiw8Zp
Oh and I forgot to answer about comfort. I think it is pretty comfortable, but I started on the lowest weight and am sticking with that for several weeks. It does make you pretty warm on a hot day though! I will say I had a friend who tried it and the pressure on the shoulders from it made them feel like they might have pinched a nerve or something, but they also had underlying neck issues. So again good to check and make sure there's no contraindications for you.
Thanks for the valuable contribution, Chef AJ, if I translated it correctly into my language, once showed in a videio how much she eats all day, it blew me away, the whole table was full of bowls. My question to you, are you only eating what is shown in the 8:30 picture or do you eat more and feel like it?
I did eat a little more food than what was pictured at 8:30. The top left was breakfast and after that I ate a little more of the vegetables. The top right was lunch, and I ate an additional sweet potato. I only ate 2 of the cookies pictured in the bottom left. And the bottom right was my dinner, and I ate a second bowl of chili. Chef AJ promotes a diet of foods that are low in calorie density, which means you can eat a large volume of food. Eating this way, I don't measure food, I simply eat until full. And the amount needed to feel full will differ from person to person.
@@enough425 I never noticed any difference without animal protein. But going low fat and oil-free took a bit of time to get used to. So at first I had some cravings, but now I actually feel more satiated and can go longer periods of time without having to eat. I used to have to eat every 2 hours or I started to get "hangry" and felt like I had low blood sugar. Now I can easily go 4 or 5 hours or more without eating.
Hi! I'm not sure if you're asking how much water I drink or what kind of water. But I personally drink about 64 to 96 ounces of water a day. And I have an RO filter for my water.
Not really. I actually feel much more energetic most of the time, especially when I'm eating more raw fruits and veggies. I used to have an afternoon crash every day, but don't have that anymore (unless I had a bad night's sleep). And my muscle tone is more affected by how many strengthening exercises I incorporate into my workouts, but otherwise I have maintained my muscle mass and haven't noticed any losses.

Agreed! They are so good, right?! One of my favorite ways to enjoy them is topped with sliced frozen sweet cherries 😋

Chef AJ’s new book is beautiful. So far I’ve made the apple pie bars, yummy and wholesome at the same time. The thumbprints and cram muffins are next.
Yum! I'm excited to try some of the muffins, too!
